Abstract

Nutrient Values Of Native Grass And Gliricidia Leafs With Several Blocks Of Sugar Palm Urea. A study, conducted by applying Completely Randomized Design, has been conducted to analyze nutrient content of native grass, Gliricidia leafs and urea which was mixed with palm sugar. The study took place in the Laboratory of Nutrient and Feed of Almira, Kupang from July to December 2009. Feedstuff consist of native grass forage, Gliricidia leafs, sugar palm 35%, corn meal 18%, rice bran 32%, urea 2%, salt 5%, mineral 3% and lime 5%. Observed variables consist of proximate analyses (dry matter, crude protein, crude fiber, fat, ash, free Nitrogen extract matter, Calcium and Phosphor). The results show that the nutrient values of all ration formula treatments are not significantly differ (P<0.05). It can be concluded that all nutrient content of all five ration formulations are similar.Key words: Native grass, Gliricidia leafs, Block Sugar Palm Urea, Nutrient

Abstract

Shallot (Alium ascolonicum L.) is a very important horticultural commodity, but has a configuration in its cultivation on the condition of the flooded land. A tolerant cultivar for wetland conditions is needed. This research has been done in the field of Horticultural Laboratory of Agricultural Polytechnic State of Kupang from July to October 2017. Factors tried in this research is the factor of water logging duration and shallot cultivar factor. The research was design by split plot esign with the water logging duration as the main plot and the cultivar as the sub plot. The main plot consists of six level: without water logging (D0), 1 day water logging (D1), 2-day water logging (D2), 3-day water logging (D3), 4-day water logging (D4) and 5-day water logging (D5). The sub plot consists of 4 cultivar: Sabu (K1), Rote (K2), TTS (K3) and Bima (K4). The variables observed were: number of tillers, number of leaves, root length, leaf dry weight, total chlorophyll content and weight of dry yield. The data was analyzed by analysis of variance, and continued by BNJ test (5%). The results showed that the duration of the water logging affected the number of tillers, number of leaves, leaf dry weight, root length and weight of the dry bulb. While cultivars also affect the number of tillers, number of leaves, dry weight of leaves, and weight of dry bulb, but do not affect to root length. While the total chlorophyll content of shallot affected by the interaction between the duration of water logging and cultivars. The results also showed a decrease in the number of tillers, number of leaves, leaf dry weight and weight of the dry yield in the duration of the 5-day water logging. While the length of the roots decreased after given inundation more than 3 days. The best cultivars in this study were the Bima cultivars that produced a dry yield of 56.28 g. Key word: Growth, yield, water logging duration and shallot cultivar

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the society's understanding of disaster mitigation or preventing the likelihood of landslides, and efforts have been made public as well as solutions regarding prevention or reduction of the occurrence of landslides. This research was conducted in the Toobaun village of West Amarasi, Kupang district. The sampling technique was proportional random sampling. Sampling from entire population was taken as 100 respondents using descriptive analysis. The results showed that: 1) The level of public understanding about vulnerable to landslides and how to cope with and mitigate that are in the low category, where people suffered a lot of losses and damages caused by landslides, 2) Efforts have been made public categorized as high, and solutions in case of landslide still categorized low, people's knowledge and understanding of disaster mitigation less than the maximum so that the public is less aware of the potential damage caused by landslides. Keywords: The public's understanding, mitigation, landslides, Toobaun

Abstract

LOF with JB3 activator from fruit waste (salak, grapes, papaya, banana, pineapple and apple) and market waste (coconut fiber, coconut water) enriched with other organic materials (solid and liquid tofu waste) and added with Trichoderma microbes to increase nutrient content and function of the LOFwith pest and disease controller. The purpose of this study is to get POC plus with JB3 activator with the results of a complete both chemically and biologically (microscopic analysis)analysis. The treatments that were tried were A-1 = POC; A-2 = POC plus; A-3 = POC plus 1; A-4 = POC plus 2. The obtained results are A4 treatment (POC fruit waste, coconut waste on the market, tofu waste and Trichoderma containing C-organic 6.22%, pH 4.37, microbial contaminants ie E.coli <36 Apm / ml and Salmonella sp negative, which is qualifiedbased on fertilizer quality standards of Permentan no 70 / Permentan / SR.140 / 10/2011, but the content of the nutrients (N, P, K, Fe, Mn, Cu and ZN) still classified as soil amenders not yet as liquid organic fertilizer.

Abstract

Profile Intensity And  Estrus Time In Various Parity Fries Holland Dairy Cattle Postpartum. Parity is a period in the reproductive cycle of cattle with an indication of the amount of carrier confinement livestock.  Feliciano, et al, (2003) states that the parity is classified into three parts, namely: (1) nuliparous , (2) primiparous and (3) pluriparous / multiparous.This study used one-way classification design with the observed 90 cows  post-partum  is composed of 30 first parity, 30 second parity  and 30 third parity. Time of estrus observation data were analyzed with General Linear Model (GLM) followed by Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT).This study used one-way classification design with the observed 90 cows   post-partum  was composed of 30 first parity, 30 second parity  and 30 third parity. Data observation of  estrus time  were analyzed with General Linear Model (GLM) followed by Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT).It could be concluded that the parity  I, II and III with two estrus intensity (+ +), each for 63.3%, 46.7% and 73.4% and third estrus intensity (+ + +) respectively amounted to 36.6%, 53.3% and 26.6%. While the second estrus postpartum in various parity indicates a difference in means that the parity gives effect to the second estrus postpartum. Abstract

Pterocarpus indicus Willd (Kayu Merah) is a straight bole hardwood plant that is easily grown in tropical areas such as Indonesia. In the East Nusa Tenggara Province, this plant is becoming rare which results in an effort of development and conservation of the species by the government through plant propagation. One of the ways of conserving the plant is through plant propagation. Problems faced in the propagation method through nurseries are breaking the dormant periode of kayu merah and finding the right media. The aim of this research is to understand the influence of treatment of growth medium in the kayu merah’s germination. This research used completely randomized design with various treatments such as sand, black soil, bokasi, soil : sand (3:1), soil;sand;bokasi (3:2:2), soil:sand (1:1), soil:sand:bokasi (1:1:1) and soil:fertiliser (1:1). Every treatment was redone three times. The analysis used was analysis of varians followed by Significant difference test. The results showed that the highest successful of germination was the treatment using sand as the medium because of the good drainage so that the moisture level was optimum. On the other hand, the lowest was the treatment using bokasi as the medium because of the high moisture level which resulted in the decay of the seeds of kayu merah. Abstract

Fertilizing combination  between organic and inorganic fertilizer can increase crop production because organic fertilizer improves physical, chemical, and biologicalcondition of the soil,hence give conducive circumstances to plant growth. The aim of the research was to identify  the influence of the solid bio-slurry  and NPK fertilizer on the growth and production of Brassica juncea L. The experimental design used in the study was  Group Randomized Design (RBD) with 6 treatments and 4 replications to obtain 24 experimental units. The treatments were: P1: Bio-slurry 20 t.ha-1 + NPK 0 kg ha-1; P2: Bio-slurry 20 t.ha-1 + NPK 25 kg ha-1 +; P3: Bio-slurry 15 t.ha-1 + NPK 50 kg ha-1; P4: Bio-slurry 10 t.ha-1 + NPK 75 kg ha-1; P5: Bio-slurry 5 t.ha-1 + NPK fertilizer 100 kg ha-1; P6: Bio-slurry 0 t.ha-1 + NPK 125 kg ha-1. The results showed that the application of bio-slurry fertilizer with NPK gave effect to the growth and production of  brassica,  included plant heights, leaf numbers, fresh weights and dry weights of  brassica at 28 day after plant of  observation age. Keywords: Bio-slurry, mustard , organic fertilizer, NPK

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of differences in the concentration of palm sap in coconut shell liquid smoke on proximate levels of skipjack flavor smoke. The study used an experimental method with four single treatments, namely the concentration of palm sap and liquid smoke from coconut shells. The parameters measured were proximate levels, which included: water content (%), texture, protein content and total colonies microbial. The results showed that: (1) The use of palm oil in liquid smoke of coconut shell significantly improved the quality of skipjack smoked during the storage period; (2) The concentration of lontar sap in liquid smoke has a significant effect on the organoleptic quality of skipjack during the storage period; (3) The concentration of palm sap of 25%+75% of coconut shell liquid smoke significantly improves the quality of the skipjack smoked which includes moisture content, texture, pH and protein content.  Key Words:  Concentration of palm sap, liquid smoke, quality skipjack tuna

Abstract

Growth Response Of Pleurotus Ostreatus Parent Seed At Five Different Sorghum Medium. The research was conducted in Biotechnology Laboratory of Kupang State Agricultural Polytechnic in one month, December 2008. The research was aimed to know the growth response of Pleurotus ostreatus parent seed at five different sorghum medium.This research used sorghum seed as mycelium of Pleurotus ostreatus growth medium. The variables that used to measure were mycelium growth time and mycelium of Pleurotus ostreatus scattered which measured from the beginning of mycelium scattered. The result shown that the fastest growth and scattered of Pleurotus ostreatus mycelium was Sikun sorghum and the lowest growth and scattered of Pleurotus ostreatus mycelium was Pisan sorghum.Keywords : Sorgum, Parent seed, Growth

Abstract

Biomass estimation plays an important role in a climate change mitigation project in the forestry sector. Biomass estimation could be calculated using allometric equation. The aim of this research was to develop an allometric equation for mamar system, a traditional agroforestry system inVillage of Oebola Dalam, Sub District of Fatuleu, District of Kupang. The data was collected using a random sampling with a total of 15 plots developed and each plot was 20 x 20 m in size. The results of the research show that number of trees in the system is 1,350 trees per ha and is dominated by pinang (Arecha catechu). The allometric model developed is Y = 0,32 X 0,65. Thismodel can be used for the same systems in other areas.
