Abstract

Chili pepper is one of the commodities that has economic potential. The problems that arise when cultivating chili peppers are optimal nutrient requirements and the right planting media. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of providing various types of liquid organic fertilizers through automated drip irrigation and planting media on the production of chili peppers. The design used in this study was a Nested Design. The main plot (Factor 1) is liquid organic fertilizer with two levels, namely Superior Plant Hormone fertilizer (P1) and Herbafarm fertilizer (P2). The subplot (Factor 2) is a planting medium with four levels of treatment, namely soil planting media (control) (M0), soil planting media + rice husk charcoal + goat manure with a ratio of 1: 1: 1 (M1), soil planting media + cocopeat + chicken manure with a ratio of 3: 2: 1 (M2), soil planting media + sawdust + rice husk charcoal with a ratio of 1: 1: 1 (M3). The experiment was conducted with 4 replications so that there were 32 experimental units. The parameters observed in this study were the number of fruits per plant (fruit), fruit weight per plant (g), plant productivity (ton/ha), weight per fruit (g), fruit diameter (mm), fruit length (cm). The results showed that the provision of liquid organic fertilizer had a significant effect on fruit diameter and fruit length. while the provision of different planting media did not have a significant effect on all parameters.

Abstract

The large population has an impact on competition between plants in the use of nutrients, sunlight and water. Setting the right number of plants per planting hole will reduce competition between plants in terms of receiving sunlight, nutrient absorption and water. This study aims to determine the optimization of the number of plants per planting hole and to find the optimal weight on the growth and production of batik spinach plants with hydroponic floating raft system. The research was conducted at Sun Rose Hydrofarm Greenhouse, Pancoran Mas, Depok City in March-April 2024. This study used a Randomized Complete Group Design (RCGD) with the treatment of the number of plants per planting hole consisting of five treatments as follows: 1 plant per planting hole, 2 plants per planting hole, 3 plants per planting hole, 4 plants per planting hole, and 5 plants per planting hole. The results showed that the treatment of 3 plants per planting hole was the optimal treatment and recommended for planting batik spinach with hydroponic floating raft system. The treatment of 3 plants per planting hole produces growth variables and production weight per plant that are not significantly different from the treatment of 1 plant per planting hole, and produces production weight per planting hole that is not significantly different from the treatment of 5 plants per planting hole.

Abstract

Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) is a vine that is generally consumed directly or in processed form. In Indonesia, there are still many who cultivate cucumbers in the conventional way and there are still many who use chemical fertilizers, but the expected results are not worth it so that many farmers who cultivate cucumbers eventually go out of business or go bankrupt. This proves that agricultural production that still uses chemicals will damage the soil texture. Efforts to reduce the excessive use of chemical fertilizers in increasing cucumber crop production include fertilizing using liquid organic fertilizers. This study aims to determine the effect of the use of liquid organic fertilizer banana weevil, tofu dregs, and banana peel on the growth and yield of cucumber plants (Cucumis sativus L.) and obtain the best type and time of application of liquid organic fertilizer for the growth and yield of cucumber plants (Cucumis sativus L.) This research will be conducted in August-September 2023, in Noebaun Village, Noemuti District, North Central Timor Regency. Field experiments using RAL factorial 3 x 3 were repeated 3 times. The first factor is the type of POC which consists of three treatments, namely POC banana weevil (P1), POC tofu pulp (P2) and POC banana peel (P3) with each POC treatment 20 ml / 10 L water. The second factor is the POC application time which consists of three treatments, namely POC application once every 1 week (O1), POC application once every 2 weeks (O2) and POC application once every 3 weeks (O3). So that there are 9 combinations of treatments, namely: P1O1, P2O1, P3O1, P1O2, P2O2, P3O2, P1O3, P2O3, P3O3 then there are 27 experimental polybags and 3 control polybags so that there are 30 experimental units. The results of the study stated that there was a real influence on the growth and yield of cucumber plants. This can be seen with the highest value for the parameters of soil acidity (pH 5.84), number of internodes 42 HST (11.11 internodes), fruit weight (350.86 grams), fruit length (20.09 cm), fruit diameter (26.71 mm). POC treatment of banana peel and application time once every 1 week is the best treatment in increasing cucumber growth and yield. This can be seen with the highest value for the parameters of soil acidity (pH 5.72), stem diameter 42 HST (0.42 mm), number of internodes (10.44 internodes), fruit weight (333.83 grams), fruit length (20.26 cm), fruit diameter (25.27 mm).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the administration of several natural hormones on the germination rate of coffee plants. This study used the Complete Random Design (RAL) method of a single factor pattern, which consisted of 4 treatments, namely water (M0), mung bean extract (M1), coconut water (M2), and shallot extract (M3). The results showed that: soaking using natural hormones had no real effect on the germination of coffee plants. Soaking using natural hormones produces different values, namely: Soaking using coconut water produces the highest normal sprout values and the lowest abnormal sprouts. the highest hypocotyl length, the highest epicot length. Soaking using mung bean sprout extract produced the highest germination rate value, the heaviest plant fresh weight (0.79 g) and the heaviest plant dry weight (0.39 g). Soaking using shallot extract produces the highest plant height. The overall results showed that soaking in water (control) for 12 hours alone was enough to influence and produce the best germination of coffee seeds in plant height, hypocotyl length, epicot length, highest percentage of normal germination, lowest percentage of abnormal germination.
