Abstract

Self-injurious behavior or acts of self-harm that are commonly found in adolescents are form of channeling negative emotions to deal with emotional pain. One reason for this pain was exposure to unpleasant experiences called adverse childhood experiences. This study aims to explore the detrimental effect of experience on self-harm in adolescents. This study used two measuring instruments, the Deliberate Self-Harm Inventory (DSHI) was used to measure DSH and Adverse Childhood Experience Quesionnaire (ACE.Q) was used to measure ACE. There were 168 respondents in the study who participated filling online questionnaire and they were gathered through non-probability sampling technique. The result showed that there was a positive correlation between adverse childhood experiences on self-harm with a sig value of 0.035 <0.05. This means that the higher the ACE, the higher the DSH. Perilaku melukai diri sendiri atau deliberate self-harm (DSH) banyak ditemukan pada remaja sebagai bentuk penyaluran emosi secara negatif untuk mengatasi rasa sakit secara emosional. Salah satu penyebab rasa sakit tersebut adalah adanya paparan pengalaman tidak menyenangkan yang disebut dengan adverse childhood experience (ACE). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh adverse childhood experience terhadap deliberate self-harm pada remaja di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan dua alat ukur, yaitu Deliberate Self-Harm Inventory (DSHI) untuk mengukur DSH dan Adverse Childhood Experience Quesionnaire (ACE.Q) untuk mengukur ACE. Terdapat 168 responden dalam penelitian ini yang diperoleh secara online melalui teknik non-probability sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat korelasi positif antara adverse childhood experience terhadap deliberate self-harm dengan nilai sig 0,035 < 0,05. Artinya, semakin tinggi adverse childhood experience maka semakin tinggi pula kecenderungan melakukan deliberate self-harm

Abstract

Abstract. Family plays an important role in nurturing and guiding adolescents to develop their identity and character. However, for adolescents who have grown up in families that experienced conflict or even violence, they have an increased risk to develop both internalizing and externalizing problems which lead to their lower Subjective Wellbeing (SWB). Group counseling with a cognitive behavioral approach known as religious cognitive behavior counseling (RCBC) using Islamic prayer implementation, was applied to change negative cognitive distortion or self-talk, in adolescents who experienced family violence. Using experimental study, the RCBC was expected to help participants improving their well-being. Pretest and posttest were executed to measure their subjective well-being before and after the counseling for 40 participants. The results showed that RCBC significantly increased positive affect with the value of t = -2.658; p-0.005. The RCBC can be developed as an alternative intervention to increase SWB in adolescents particularly in Moslem community.Keywords: Adolescents, group counseling, religious cognitive behavior, subjective wellbeingAbstrak. Keluarga memiliki peran penting dalam proses pendewasaan dan pembimbingan remaja untuk mengembangkan identitas dan karakter mereka. Akan tetapi, remaja yang tumbuh dalam keluarga yang mengalami konflik atau bahkan kekerasan. Mereka memiliki peningkatan resiko dalam mengembangkan masalah internal dan eksternal yang menuntun mereka pada Kesejahteraan Subjektif (SWB). Konseling kelompok menggunakan sebuah pendekatan perilaku kognitif yang dikenal dengan Religious Cognitive Behavior Counseling (RCBC) menggunakan implementasi berdoa secara Islam, yang digunakan untuk mengubah distorsi kognitif atau self-talk pada remaja yang mengalami kekerasan di rumah. Penelitian kali ini menggunakan studi eksperimen dengan RCBC yang diharapkan membantu subjek meningkatan kesejahteraan subjektifnya. Pre-tes dan pos-tes dilakukan untuk mengukur keadaan kesejahteraan subjektif sebelum dan sesudah pada 40 subjek. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa RCBC secara signifikan berpengaruh positif dengan nilai t = -2.658; p-0.005. Kesimpulannya, RCBC dapat dikembangkan sebagai sebuah intervensi alternatif untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan subjektif pada remaja khususnya pada komunitas Muslim.Kata Kunci: Remaja, konseling kelompok, perilaku kognitif beragama, kesejahteraan subjektif

Abstract

Abstract. Medical staff assistants working in emergency and trauma departments must have appropriate traits in terms of personality traits to enable them to cope with stressful and stressful work and the best quality of work. Therefore, researchers have undertaken a study of the relationship between personality traits and work suitability in the emergency and trauma department. Data obtained by using a questionnaire form to obtain demographic data, personality data, job satisfaction data and job performance data. The questionnaire was distributed to 63 respondents consisting of medical staff assistants who work in the emergency and trauma department of two major hospitals in Perak. In the inference test, the results of the Pearson correlation showed a significant relationship between personality traits and job satisfaction with a coefficient of r =  -.698 and p <.05. Meanwhile, personality traits were also found to be negatively related to tenure where the correlation coefficient was r = -702 and p <.05. In addition, the linear regression test conducted to see the effect of personality traits on work performance also showed that personality traits had a strong influence on work performance with a value of r = 0.473 and a significant p <0.05. The results of this study will assist supervisors and organizations in the recruitment process of medical personnel with appropriate personality traits to work in the emergency and trauma department.Keywords:  Assistant medical personnel, emergency and  traumadepartment, personality traits, job satisfaction, tenure, work performance Abstrak.  Asisten staf medis yang bekerja di bagian gawat darurat dan trauma harus memiliki ciri-ciri yang sesuai untuk memungkinkan mereka mengatasi pekerjaan yang penuh tekanan dan stres serta kualitas kerja yang terbaik. Oleh karena itu, peneliti telah melakukan studi tentang hubungan antara ciri-ciri kepribadian dan kesesuaian kerja di bagian gawat darurat dan trauma. Data diperoleh dengan menggunakan formulir kuesioner untuk memperoleh data demografi, data kepribadian, data kepuasan kerja dan data prestasi kerja. Kuesioner dibagikan kepada 63 responden yang terdiri dari asisten staf medis yang bekerja di bagian gawat darurat dan trauma di dua rumah sakit besar di Perak. Pada uji inferensi hasil korelasi pearson menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara ciri kepribadian dengan kepuasan kerja dengan koefisien r =  -.698 dan p <.05. Sedangkan ciri-ciri kepribadian juga ditemukan berhubungan negatif dengan masa kerja dimana nilai koefisien korelasinya adalah r =  -702 dan p <.05. Selain itu, uji regresi linier yang dilakukan untuk melihat pengaruh ciri-ciri kepribadian terhadap prestasi kerja juga menunjukkan bahwa ciri-ciri kepribadian berpengaruh kuat terhadap prestasi kerja dengan nilai r = 0,473 dan signifikan p <0,05. Hasil penelitian ini akan membantu supervisor dan organisasi dalam proses perekrutan tenaga medis yang memiliki ciri kepribadian yang sesuai bekerja di bagian gawat darurat dan trauma.Kata kunci.  Asisten petugas medis, bagian gawat darurat dan trauma, ciri kepribadian, kepuasan kerja, masa kerja, prestasi kerja

Abstract

Competition among companies made the majority of employees faced high demand on their job and achievement. Hence, it eventually stimulated the occurrence of burnout more frequently. This study aims to dexplore the correlation of work stress and hardiness with burnout. Using three psychological measurement tools, namely The Burnout Scale, Work Stress Scale, and Hardiness Scale, this quantitative research measured 91 employees in Surabaya. The result showed that work stress and hardiness have correlation with burnout. Partially work stress has a positive correlation with burnout, while hardiness has a negative correlation with burnout. Contribution of those variabels showed that there were possibly other variables that can be used in further research.Persaingan antar perusahaan menyebabkan tuntutan pekerjaaan yang tinggi sehingga menyebabkan burnout di kalangan pekerja sering terjadi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh stres kerja dan hardiness terhadap burnout. Peneliti menggunakan tiga alat ukur psikologis yaitu Skala Burnout (MBI), Skala Stres Kerja dan Skala Hardiness. Penelitian kuantitattif ini melibatkan 91 pekerja umum di Surabaya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat korelasi antara stres kerja dan hardiness dengan burnout pada pekerja. Secara parsial stres kerja berkorelasi positif terhadap burnout, sementara hardiness berkorelasi negatif terhadap burnout. Kontribusi kedua variabel menunjukkan ada variabel lain yang bisa digunakan pada penelitain selanjutnya.

Abstract

Abstract. The present work aimed to examine the psychological mechanism by which an openness to accept ingroup actions that can threaten the existence of outgroups, which is simply referred to as acknowledgments of threatening ingroup actions, plays a role in tackling extremism and violent radicalism in the name of Islam in Indonesia. A correlational survey among a sample of 404 Muslim students from various universities in Indonesia in the present work revealed that acknowledgmenst of threatening ingroup actions contributed to the reduction of Muslims’ extremism and violent radicalism because of the role the concept had in increasing Muslims’ critical attitudes towards their group’s wrongdoings inflicted upon non-Muslims. These critical attitudes took shape via an acceptance of ingroup wrongdoings, ingroup responsibility, and feelings of anger against ingroup actions. These empirical findings imply that acknowledgments of threatening ingroup actions may facilitate Muslim reconciliatory cognitions and emotions, which in turn attenuate Muslims’ violent extremism and radicalism in their relationships with non-Muslims. The theoretical and practical implications of these empirical findings are elaborated in the discussion section, which also spotlights a number of  shortcomings in the present work. Keywords. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji mekanisme psikologis mengapa keterbukaan untuk mengakui tindakan kelompok-sendiri (ingroup) yang bisa mengancam eksistensi kelompok-lain (outgroup), yang disingkat dengan istilah acknowledgement of threatening ingroup actions, berperan dalam meredam permasalahan esktremisme (extremism) dan radikalisme kekerasan (violent radicalism) yang mengatasnamakan Islam di Indonesia. Survei korelasional yang melibatkan 404 mahasiswa Muslim dari berbagai universitas di Indonesia dalam penelitian ini menemukan bahwa acknowledgement of threatening ingroup actions berkontribusi  menangkal esktremisme dan radikalisme kekerasan karena perannya dalam meningkatkan sikap kritis terhadap kelompok-sendiri atas pelanggaran terhadap kelompok lain (ingroup wrongdoings). Sikap kritis ini mencakup penerimaan atas pelanggaran  terhadap kelompok-lain (acceptance of ingroup wrongdoings), tanggungjawab atas pelanggaran terhadap kelompok-lain (ingroup responsibility), dan amarah atas aksi pelanggaran tersebut (anger against ingroup actions). Temuan-temuan empiris ini mengimplikasikan bahwa acknowledgement of threatening ingroup actions memfasilitasi kognisi dan emosi rekonsiliatif Muslim, yang selanjutnya berperan dalam meredam ekstremisme dan radikalisme kekerasan dalam hubungan mereka dengan non-Muslim. Implikasi teoretis dan praktis dari temuan-temuan empiris ini dielaborasi dalam bagian diskusi, yang juga menyoroti sejumlah kelemahan atau kekurangan dalam penelitian ini. Kata kunci. Abstract

Early adulthood was indicated by exploring self-identity, including re-questioning the religion belief that was taught by nuclear family since childhood. Most of young adult perceived themselves or by older people as less religious, but spiritual. This study aims to understand the meaning of religiosity/spirituality from a) perspective of their own religion; b) perspective of other religion; and c) their religious experience. Photovoice was applied in this study with various background of participant’s religion including Moslem, Christian, Catholic, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Kong Hu Cu, which selected by snowball sampling. The result showed worship place and activities were mostly chosen as representation of the meaning of religiosity/spirituality from their own religion perspective as well as other religion. Whereas, moment in worship activity and personal experience where they can get through of difficult or unfortunate situation were representation of their religious/spiritual experience. From this study, we can conclude that the institutionalized religion is still play important role in young adult’s spiritual/religious life.

Abstract

Abstract. Toxic relationships can cause inner conflict within oneself. This inner conflict can lead to anger, depression, or anxiety. This makes it difficult for those who are involved in it to live a productive and healthy life. This study aims to determine the relationship between expectations and self-esteem on happiness in people who have a toxic relationship with psychological health. The method in this research is correlational quantitative with scale data collection tools, especially the attitude scale in the form of a Likert. The subjects in this study were 49 people. Collecting data used in this research is by distributing instrument questionnaires, Self Esteem Inventory scale which contains twelve items. Meanwhile, to measure happiness the scale used is the Oxford Happiness Questionnaire. The results showed that self-esteem and expectations influence a person's level of happiness. This means that someone's happiness will be high if he has high self-esteem and expectations. However, when experiencing a toxic relationship, self-esteem and expectations will decrease which makes the level of happiness felt low.Keywords: Self-Esteem, Hope, Happiness, Toxic Relationship Abstrak. Toxic relationship dapat menyebabkan terjadinya konflik batin dalam diri. Konflik batin ini akan mengarah pada amarah, depresi, atau kecemasan. Hal ini menyebabkan mereka yang terlibat di dalamnya kesulitan untuk hidup produktif dan sehat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara harapan dan harga diri terhadap kebahagiaan pada orang yang mengalami toxic relationship dengan kesehatan psikologis. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif korelasional dengan alat pengumpul data skala khususnya skala sikap yang berbentuk likert. Subjek dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 49 orang. Pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yakni dengan menyebarkan kuesioner instrumen, skala Self Esteem Inventory yang berisikan dua belas aitem. Sedangkan untuk mengukur kebahagiaan skala yang digunkan yakni Oxford Happiness Questionnare. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa harga diri dan harapan memiliki pengaruh terhadap tingkat kebahagiaan seseorang. Artinya kebahagiaan seseorang akan tinggi apabila ia memiliki harga diri dan harapan yang tinggi. Namun saat mengalami toxic relationship harga diri dan harapan akan menurun yang membuat tingkat kebahagiaan yang dirasakan rendah.Kata Kunci: Harga Diri, Harapan, Kebahagiaan, Toxic Relationship

Abstract

This study aimed to explore the formation process of employees’ intentions to leave viewed by Planned Behavior Theory during the Covid-19 Pandemic and to determine the factors that influence the formation of employees’ intentions to leave. The intention to leave work is how much encouragement an employee has to leave the company. Based on theory of planned behavior, intention was formed by indirect belief factor and direct belief factor. The components of indirect belief were behavioral belief, normative belief, and control belief. The components of direct belief were attitudes toward behavior, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control. The research method used was mixed method design. This research consisted of 2 stages research. First study (study 1) aimed to determine the subject's understanding toward components of indirect belief that contributed to form intention. Second study (study 2) aimed to test the measurement model through Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and structural model theory of planned behavior in the form of a Goodness of Fit test. The measurement used was the ‘Lisrel’ program. The results showed that work leave intentions were influenced by attitudes toward behavior, subjective norms and behavior control. The dominant predictor of intention to leave was subjective norms. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses terbentuknya intensi keluar kerja ditinjau dari theory of planned behavior di masa pandemi Covid-19 dan mengetahui faktor yang mempengaruhi intensi karyawan keluar kerja. Intensi keluar kerja adalah dorongan yang dimiliki seseorang untuk keluar dari perusahaan. Menurut theory of planned behavior, intensi dipengaruhi oleh faktor keyakinan tidak langsung dan faktor keyakinan langsung. Komponen dalam keyakinan tidak langsung meliputi: keyakinan perilaku, keyakinan normatif, dan keyakinan kontrol. Komponen dalam keyakinan langsung meliputi: sikap terhadap perilaku, norma subjektif, dan kontrol perilaku. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode campuran. Penelitian ini terdiri dari 2 tahap. Tahap pertama (studi 1) bertujuan untuk menggali komponen-komponen pada keyakinan tidak langsung yang berperan dalam pembentukan intensi. Tahap kedua (studi 2) bertujuan untuk menguji model pengukuran melalui Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) dan uji model struktural theory of planned behavior berupa uji kecocokan model (Goodness of Fit). Pengukuran yang digunakan menggunakan program Lisrel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa intensi kerja dipengaruhi oleh sikap terhadap perilaku, norma subjektif dan kontrol perilaku. Faktor yang paling dominan dalam mempengaruhi intensi keluar kerja adalah norma subjektif.

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to determine the effect of group therapy with cognitive reconstruction techniques to reduce anxiety in grade VI elementary school students. The subjects in this study were grade VI students, male or female sex, and experiencing anxiety. Data collection methods in this study are through observation, interviews, Discussion Group Forums (FGD), and pre-test and post-test using the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS). The data analysis technique used a non-parametric test with the Wilcoxon test. The results showed that there was a decrease in anxiety both qualitatively and quantitatively. Qualitative results indicate that participants can think positively, bolder, more confident, and try to do something happily, while the quantitative results show the value of Z = -2,371 with a significance of p = 0.018 (p <0. 05) on the HARS anxiety scale which means there was a significant difference between the anxiety experienced by participants before and after attending group therapy. Based on the results of the research that has been done it can be concluded that group therapy with cognitive reconstruction techniques can reduce anxiety levels in grade VI elementary school students.Keywords: anxiety, cognitive reconstruction, class VI students, group therapy

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims at determining the effect of family support, gender andschool type (i.e. SMA, MA and SMK) on career adaptability. Subjects werestudents from three different schools in Bantul (n=309), sampled using quotasampling techniques. Data were collected using two scales, Family Support Scaleand Career Adaptability Scale. Data analysis was carried out using Spearman Rhocorrelation technique and Two-Way ANOVA. The results indicated the effect offamily support (rxy= 0.431, p < 0.001), gender (F (df1, df2) = 65.32, p < 0.001)and school type (F (df1, df2) = 29.83. p < 0.01) on students’ career adaptability.Gender and school type have insignificant effect compared to family support. Theresult suggested that null hypothesis was denied, hence implications werediscussed.Keywords: Career adaptability, family support, gender, school type.Abstrak. Subjek adalah siswakelas XII di tiga jenis sekolah menengah di Bantul (n= 309) yang dipilihmenggunakan teknik quota sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan dua skala,yaitu Skala Dukungan Keluarga dan Skala Adaptabilitas Karir. Analisis datadilakukan dengan teknik korelasi Spearman Rho dan teknik komparasi ANOVADua Jalur. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antaradukungan keluarga (rxy = 0.431, p < 0.001), gender (F(df1,df2)= 65.32, p <0.001) dan tipe sekolah (F(df1,df2) = 29.83, p < 0.01) dengan adaptabilitas karirpada siswa. Efek interaksi antara jenis kelamin dan tipe sekolah tidak signifikan.Hasil ini menyatakan bahwa hipotesis null ditolak sehingga implikasi daripenelitian ini telah didiskusikan.Kata Kunci: Adaptabilitas karir, dukungan keluarga, jenis kelamin, jenis sekolah
