Identification of solid state interaction between TMP and SMZ by hot contact method Kofler and crystallization reaction had been carried out. The results of hot contact method Kofler shown formation a new crystalline habit as long and thin needle shaped on contact zone (mixing zone) between Solid TMP and SMZ. It had a different melting point in compared to its single component. Crystallization reaction between two of supersaturated solution of component TMP and SMZ in methanol solvent also indicated the growth of crystal habit as similar as hot contact method Kofler. Solid state interaction between TMP and SMZ was confirmed by microscopic SEM, powder X-ray diffraction, and thermal DSC. Microscopic analysis by SEM showed significantly the change of habit and morphology of crystal as long and thin needle shaped. New powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) interferences peaks were observed in addition to PXRD interference peaks of each component that proved formation of cocrystalline phase. Thermogram DSC indicated a new endothermic peak corresponding to melting point of a new cocrystalline phase at temperature 178,82 °C.Key words : trimethoprim, sulfamethoxazole, physical interaction, cocrystalline phase

The cytochrome P-450 (CYP) and glutathione S-transferase (GST) enzyme systems may influence the biological effects of carcinogens. As such, these enzymes may predict the developmental risk of breast cancer, as well as be potential targets for chemoprevention. The purpose of this study was to compare the expression of CYP1A1 and GSTµ between treatment groups. Expression of CYP1A1 and GSTµ was quantified in liver tissue from 18 female Sprague Dawley rats aged 40 days, which randomly divided into six treatment groups. Those are base line group (without DMBA and ethanolic extract treatment), DMBA induced cancer group, the other two groups was administrated by DMBA after treated by ethanolic extract in two different doses, 300 mg /kg BW and 750 mg/kg BW. The last two groups were given two doses of extract ethanolic only, without initiated of DMBA. The ingestion of the extract was carried for three weeks and the ingestion of DMBA was performed twice in the third week. The expression CYP1A1 and GST was quantified by immunohistochemistry. CYP1A1 expression was significantly higher (P < 0.05) in cancer group (DMBA) as compared with other groups. On the other hand, GST expression was lower in cancer group (P < 0.05). Result of this study demonstrated that ethanolic extract leaves of G. procumbens in 300 mg/kg BW dose could inhibit CYP1A1 stronger than are other and induced GSTµ level. Has effect on ethanolic extract leaves of G. procumbens has ability in played role of as blocking agent in preventing initiation stage of carsinogenesis, therefore it should be taken into account for chemopreventing agent in mammary carsinogenesis.Key words : Gynura procumbens, breast cancer, hemopreventive, CYP1A1, GSTμ

A new, simple, specific, accurate and precise RP-HPLC method was developed for determination of Ceritinib. In the present study, stress testing of Ceritinib was carried out according to ICH guidelines Q1A (R2). Ceritinib was subjected to stress conditions of hydrolysis, oxidation, photolysis and neutral decomposition. Extensive degradation was found to occur in acidic, condition. Mild degradation was observed in basic and at thermal conditions. Successful separation of drug from degradation products formed under stress conditions was achieved on a Hypersil BDS C18 column (250 mm à 4.6 mm, 5.0 μ particle size) using acetonitrile: acetate buffer (pH 3.7 ± 0.05) (50:50 v/v), at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min and column was maintained at 40ËC. Quantification and linearity was achieved at 272 nm over the concentration range of 5 - 100 μg/mL for Ceritinib. The method was validated for specificity, linearity, accuracy, precision, LOD, LOQ and robustness.

Many studies showed that counseling can improve patient adherence and reduce medication-related problems leading to reach an optimal outcome therapy. The aims of this study were to identify patient’s need, healthcare professional’s support, pharmacist’s readiness and step to be taken to meet standard for implementing patient medication counseling service. Questionnaires has been given to hospitalized-patient to identify the patient’s need and to healthcare professionals in recognizing their supports, followed by survey of pharmacist’s readiness. Gap analysis was then carried out to identify the additional resources to be provided for conducting the service. About 103 patients were enrolled and eager for drug counseling to be implemented with pharmacist as healthcare counselor. Approximately 46 nurses and 25 active-medical-doctors were participated and giving their support for pharmacist to provide the service; and pharmacists are ready to conduct patient medication counseling with minor adjustment. Gap analysis concluded that additional resources should be furnished, e.g. information module consist of standard information needed by the patient, standard operational procedure, and updated literatures. Due to lack of pharmacist, counseling service only be delivered to patient who has a complex antibiotic regimen therapy. Our data showed that patient medication counseling service in this center could be quickly implemented.

Systemic Lupus Erythemathosus is an autoimmune, inflammatory, chronic disorder characterized by multiorgan system involvement. Depression and anxiety are frequent complaints among patients with lupus erythematosus, so antidepressive treatment should be an important element of the therapy of patients with lupus erythematosus. Research into curcumin’s potential as a treatment for depression is still in its infancy, although several potential antidepressant mechanisms of action have been identified. 4-weeks double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial was conducted in 14 SLE patients (10 as treatment group and 4 as control group) The BDI (Beck Depression Inventory) score was calculated and TNF α concentration was measured in the serum subjects before and after treatment. Correlation between TNF α concentration and BDI was assessed. After 4 weeks treatment, the TNF α concentration from subjects in treatment group were significantly lower than before ( p <0.001) but the BDI score were not significantly lower than before (p = 0.059). The TNF α concentration and BDI score showed positive correlation, p = 0,024. This study demonstrate that Curcuma xanthorrhiza Roxb extract can decrease serum TNF α concentration and reduce clinically symptoms of depression in SLE patients
