Abstract

ABSTRACTStress can be perceived as a response to threats situations (either physical or psychological) caused by individual inability  to overcome existing threats within his/her environment. Job stress is the result of interaction between an individual (i.e. a worker) and his/her occupation. The objective of this study to identify the factor affecting tojob stress by the divers at PT. X. This study applied cross-sectional design conducted by observing the divers at PT. X. The population of this study was all divers working at PT. X. Data was analyzed by Spearman Correlation Test, Pearson Correlation Test, and Chi-square Test. The results of this study is strong correlation between personality type and job stress (as indicated by correlation coefficient 0.645). The divers’ age (correlation coefficient -0.283), educational level (correlation coefficient -0.220), years of service/experience (correlation coefficient -0.158), length of diving session (correlation coefficient 0.083), and threats of marine animal attack (correlation coefficient 0.156) had lower correlation with job stress. While the divers residence might also affect their job stress (as indicated by correlation coefficient 0.539).Keywords: job stress, diver

Abstract

ABSTRACTWork fatigue is condition which some factors have interaction with the workers. Fatigue may occur in the workforce by various factors, such as nutritional status and work climate. This study was conducted to analyze the relationship between nutritional status and work climate with work fatigue in Hikmah Food Catering. This was an observational analytic study using a cross sectional design. Samples size 43 peoples were taken by simple random sampling method. The correlation between the dependent and independent variables were analyzed by spearman correlation test (α = 0,05). Work climate in this catering were kitchen area 29,6°C, non AC 26,5°C area, and air-conditioned area 20,3°C. Spearman correlation test results showed that there was nutritional status which had no significant association with work fatigue (p = 0,954) and there was work climate which had a significant association with work fatigue (p = 0.004). The conclusion of this research is nutritional status has no relation with fatigue, meanwhile work climate have a relation with work fatigue. There are advised for the industry such as providing sufficient drinking water supplies, and installing push pull system ventilation, especially in the kitchen area. Keywords: worker, nutritional status, work climate, work fatigue, catering

Data collection was done by direct observation using ANSI Z535 safety sign checklist within a certain time. There are 5 types of safety sign based on the ANSI Z535standard researched. They are danger sign, warning sign, sign, sign the notice caution and safety condition sign. Field observation was retrieved results suitability against ANSI Z535 standard with highest suitability figures on danger sign fulfill 8 of 16 items (50%), warning sign fulfill 6 out of 16 items (37.5%), caution sign fulfill 9 out of 16 items (56.25%), notice the sign fulfill 9 dari14 items (68.28%), and safety condition sign fulfill the entire item (100%). Conclusions on the research was application of a danger sign, warning sign, sign, and caution notice sign have not been suit with ANSI standard Z535. While the safety condition sign has been suit. Abstract

In the production process, a lot of activities that use human power, for example in material processing, packing and transportation of production manually. It if is not done the right way, it will lead to disruption in the system of muscles, bones, tendons, and nerves called with musculoskeletal disorders. This study was conducted to determine the relationship between work posture with the incidence of musculoskeletal disorders complaint. This research is an analytic observational with cross sectional approach, this study using a sample's total working population numbering 15 people. Techniques of collecting data through observation and questionnaires. For posture workers measured using valuation methods REBA, as well as the incidence of complaints of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are measured by filling sheets of Nordic Body Map (NBM). Data were analyzed using Spearman correlation test. Results of this study was 73.34% working posture workers with very high category, 73.34% of workers complain of MSDs in the medium category. Spearman correlation coefficient value of 0.770, which means there is a very strong relationship between work posture with MSDs complaint. Ergonomic posture that does not work or is not natural occurrences can cause MSDs complaint. The worse the working posture, the greater the musculoskeletal complaints. Suggested improvements to the company to avoid layout with raised floor, doing routine surveillance on the activities that are at risk of bodily injury, and hold regular sports activities once a week. Keywords: Musculoskeletal Disorders, Work Posture
