Abstract

Construction project service have important role in national development growth. This important role represents challenge claiming good quality result of the construction work. Therefore, discipline of construction project management must be arranged with contract, where contract represents agreement between two people/parties or more which enforceable by law. Generally contract is conducted only for one type of work in a project. But contract can also used for development more than one type of work in one project that called Multi Investment Project. This study analyzed the characteristic of B.O.T (Build Operate Transfer) and Turn Key contract which later; then will be conducted by comparison of contact administration and financial aspect. From contract administration aspect, comparison of contract of B.O.T and Turn Key relate to FIDIC standard contract. Meanwhile, from aspect of financial, it is analyzed the cash flow during economic term of project/investment that is about 20 (twenty) years. To obtain the eligibility and advantage of investment, it was used criterion assessment of investment, that are NPV (Net Present Value) method, BCR (Benefit Cost Ratio) method, and IRR (Internal Rate Return) method. Abstract

Physical development of a hotel will try to present the best quality to its consumer. So that every hotel operator will release of hotel quality standard to manage. This standard become reference and go into effect in the entire world where that hotel network reside in, including development of Nusa Dua Golf Resort to be managed by Novotel group - Accor. In order to get standard quality, a “mock up” building was built, before the hotel development to be continued. Long design process have been undertaken by designer consulting to put “quality” as a major construction process. Later in the construction execution the contractor is expected to follow the quality standard set up by consultant. The contractor will be supervised by Construction Management Consultant and Quantity Surveyor Consultant This research will study about quality process ability of foreman representing contractor. Project Quality Management which consist of Quality Planning, Quality Control and Quality Assurance were used in course of evaluation. The primary research data were collecting using questionnaire instrument and observation. Data colected were evaluated by descriptive analysis, for descriptions about the level ability of foreman. This study revealed that the relationship between foreman ability and education, experience, motivation and dicipline in applying quality management in this construction project were extremelly low and were not significant. Therefore, quality management trainning to foreman is recommended.

Abstract

This research was conducted to know the failure behavior and flexural strength of reinforced concrete (R/C) beam strengthened with GFRP sheet. The research used simple supported beams with dimension of 100x150x1100 mm. The beam resisted two concentrated loads at a distance of 300 mm from each support. On the beams were applied 3 conditions that were beam without addition of GFRP sheet; beam with addition of 1 layer GFRP sheet and beam with addition of 2 layers GFRP sheet. The GFRP sheets used in this research were made of woven roving glass fibre mixed with epoxy resin. The data collected in this research were crack load, ultimate load, crack pattern, crack width, deflection and failure behavior. Results of from this research indicated that addition of GFRP sheet decreased the length and width of the R/C beam crack. The addition of GFRP sheet improved flexural strength of R/C beam as well. The addition of 1 layer GFRP sheet increased the flexural strength by 10,8 %, with failure in flexure accompanied by breaking of the sheet. On the other hand, the addition of 2 layers GFRP sheet increased the flexural strength by 13,4 %, with failure in flexure accompanied by debonding of the sheet from concrete surface. This showed that the sheet did not work effectively.

Abstract

he aim of this research was to obtain the benefits of Lapindo silt as cement substitution material in fabricating paving block with the most ideal mixture composition evaluated from compressive strength and water absorption with physical quality based on PUBI-1986. Paving block were made using Lapindo silt as cement substitution with composition that were A mixture (100% PC; 0% LS), B mixture (90% PC; 10% LS), C mixture (80% PC; 20% LS), D mixture (70% PC; 30% LS), and E mixture (60% PC; 40% LS). Fabricating process of paving block started from material preparation, making mixture, molding, curing, selection, and then followed by conducting the research by compressing the paving block and obtaining the water absorption. Based from water absorption, result of this research showed that the mix D has better benefits of Lapindo silt as cement substitution material with optimum water absorption and decreasing compressive strength. This was caused by SiO2 contained in the mixture (as filler) and also supported by CaO (as a binder between materials). The small value of water absorption can also increase the durability of paving block. The best composition was D mixture, where has optimum water absorption with little decreasing in value of compressive strength.
