Abstract

A vehicle engine manufacturing company that implements Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) found many breakdowns in the camshaft line from January to May 2019. This study aims to reduce the engine camshaft line breakdown by improving preventive maintenance using the Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) method and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA). The researchers mapped the breakdown time data per engine and found that the longest breakdown time was on the IGR-0040 engine with 22.23 hours. The current availability ratio of the IGR-0040 machine is 72.88%, and the reliability index is 55%. Furthermore, this research identified machine failure using FMEA and found that six machine components experienced the highest failure rate. The researchers proposed some improvement activities related to the maintenance interval rescheduling period that could increase by 61% reliability

Abstract

Abstract. The objective this research is to review the effectiveness of CJ4machine by the program of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) in PT KimberlyClark Indonesia. The research is descriptive method (case study) by usingquantitative and qualitative approach. The measurement of effectivess level CJ4machine of PT KCI using method Overall Equipment Evectivenss (OEE), whichits calculation starting on January-December 2014 found that the value is still lowcompared with the standard value < 85% (world class manufacture-JIPMstandard). The dominant factor that cause losses at CJ4 machine were: breakdownloss and reduced speed loss. The suggestion for the future are: do thecomprehensive traing for the operator for increasing their skills and conductinginspection material holisticly, did not randomly either before entering thewarehouse nor before the matherial is being used and applied 5S program, andalso always doing continuous improvement (Kaizen). This value should beimproved to achieve the world class manufacture according to Japan InstitutePlant Maintenance. Keywords: Total productive maintenance, Overall equipment effectiveness, 5S,Autonomous maintenance, Preventive maintenance.

Abstract

Jakarta is one of the cities in Indonesia with public transport services that have not been optimal. The quality index of public transport in Jakarta is only 18%, far lower than the average quality index of public transport in Indonesia which reaches 38.67%. Until 2016, the number of public transport users in Jakarta was only 24%, while ideally the number of public transport users was 60%. This shows the low interest of the people of Jakarta to use public transportation. One of the public transportation is Transjakarta Bus, where since 2011, the number of Transjakarta Bus passengers tends to be stagnant. This study aims to identify the actual problems experienced by Transjakarta Corridor Bus passengers using Soft Systems Methodology and then simulate using Agent Based Models. The use of Soft Systems Methodology produces nine model activities that can be carried out by PT. Jakarta Transportation to improve the Corridor 8 Transjakarta Bus system, so as to increase the number of passengers. The use of simulations with an agent based model shows that increasing speed and BRT scores can increase the number of passengers, but the increase in the number of passengers on the Transjakarta Bus will be more optimal if supported by a reduction in headway and the percentage of single buses. Increased passengers can occur as much as 6.83 to 44.38%.

Abstract

This research was conducted on companies engaged in the manufacture of Speakers, Megaphones and Amplifiers. The purpose of this study is: to determine the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) value of a machine so that steps can be taken to improve the effectiveness of the machine, in addition to knowing the main root causes of damage that often occur on the machine, and knowing how to solve the problem so that it can increase the productivity of the machine. In addressing this, an analysis of the performance of the machine is done by determining the identification based on the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) calculation ratio, namely availability time, downtime, machine working time, total output, operating time, cycle time and defect amount. Then calculate and analyze the OEE value: Availability Rate, Performance Rate, Quality Rate, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and determine the value of Six Big Losses. The main causes of the low OEE value are the low Performance Rate with an average value of 75.01%, this is due to the value of Reduced Speed Losses which has the largest contribution in the six big losses.

Abstract

Abstract. The fisheries industrialization program tries to place thedownstreaming of seaweed as one of the strategies to increase the added value ofthe seaweed commodity. However, the competitiveness of the national seaweedindustry is also relatively low compared to foreign industry. One of the problemsof the competitiveness of the processed seaweed industry is because the extent ofthe use of technology in the processed seaweed industry has not been identified. The purpose of this research is to map the use of technology in the processedseaweed industry in downstreaming a competitive and sustainable Indonesianseaweed industry. The mapping of the existing condition of technologyutilization refers to five indicators, namely production aspect, cost aspect, HRaspect, energy aspect, and environmental aspect. The development strategy of theseaweed downstream industry is developed by using the SWOT method. Therecommended technology standard analysis is based on the benchmark method. Results of the analysis shows that the dominant type of technology used is the„semi-mechanical technolgy‟ which mostly comes from Europe/America followedby Japan, local, and China. In order to increase the competitiveness andsustainability of the Indonesian processed seaweed industry, improvements in thefields of artificial drying, high value added (downstream) technology andtechnology for food safety is required. Several action plans required among othersare: the solar system dryer in the upstream industry, the implementation of qualityand food safety management system in the production chain, identification andinvestment of high value products in the seaweed downstream industry. Keywords: seaweed, technology assessment, SWOT, upstream and downstreamindustry
