Abstract

Sumberjambe District is one of districts in Jember Regency, which become case-finding pouches for tuberculosis (TB). In order to tackle TB, Sumberjambe District has a community which called “Sayang TB Community”. The existence of community is able to increase the number of CDR of 28% in 2003 to 80% in 2011. In addition, cure rate is one indicator of the success of TB. To obtain healing, TB patients should consume Anti Tuberculosis Drugs (ATD) for 6 months. The side effects appear 2 weeks to 2 months after use of OAT, one of which is hepatotoxic. TB patients with hepatotoxicity requires a longer healing time. Supplementation herbal medicine made from turmeric, ginger and meniran in patients with TB is able to tackle hepatotoxic and speed healing. This research is a quantitative study with an experimental approach to determine the increase of knowledge TB cadre and patients who become members of “Sayang TB Community” by pre-test and post-test. The knowledge about the disease tuberculosis and processing skills to make herbal medicine made from turmeric, ginger and meniran as a food supplement in the treatment of TB. The results showed that there is an increased knowledge of participants, while the decline in the percentage of correct answers on the results of pre-test and post-test showed that the knowledge of trainees is still lacking. In addition there is a material that is difficult to understand by the participants.

Abstract

Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) Magnetic field exposure in bacteria can impact the proliferation process. Cheese is one of the milk products produced by the process of fermentation using mesophilic and thermophilic bacteria. However, the taste of the cheese is commonly not good, bitter or too salty. It happens because the growth of mesophilic and thermophilic bacteria often fail. Thus, it needs an effective method to optimilize the growth of mesophilic and thermophilic bacteria. As the alternative solution, this research applies ELF magnetic field to activate the mesophilic and thermophilic bacteria. The intencity of the ELF magnetic field used 100 μT by the exposure of about 5 minutes, 20 minutes, 35 minutes, 50 minutes, and 65 minutes. The indicators used in this research are pH and moisture. The process of exposing ELF magnetic field was conducted in physics laboratory of Faculty of Teaching and Education University of Jember, while measuring pH was conducted in microbiology laboratory of Faculty of Teaching and Education University of Jember and measuring moisture was conducted in microbiology laboratory of Faculty of Mathematics and Sciences University of Jember. The result of this research confirmed that the pH and moisture at the controlled group are 5,50 and 85,6%. The pH and moisture at the exposed ELF magnetic field group 100 μT for 5 minutes and 20 minutes were lower than the controlled group. Based on the descriptive analysis, it can be seen that the decreasing happened at the 5 minutes exposed group at the time of 25 and 30 after the exposed ELF magnetic field. Therefore, it can be concluded that the effective dose to reduce the pH and moisture is the exposure to the ELF magnetic fields of 100 μT for 5 minutes.

Abstract

Main objective of the present work was to investigate mechanism transport of the inner membrane of salak (Salacca edulis) using electrical conductance measurements. The inner thin membrane obtain after removing the outer cover of salak has been found to record electrical conductance when it separates two different concentration of electrolyte solution; NaCl, MgCl2 and CaCO3. Conductance values were measured for each concentration at different temperature. The temperature range studied is between 303 K and 333 K at 5 K intervals. The normal behaviour of these conductance shows that the values increase smoothly with increase in concentration. The magnitude follow the order Mg2+ > Na+ > Ca2+. The increase of temperature makes mobilisation of the ions was rapidly during the measurement of conductance.

Abstract

Hypocenter is the center of earthquake that the position can be explained in x coordinate, y coordinate and z (depth). The location of the hypocenter is obtained by calculating the arrival time of wave propagation to station (at least three seismic stations) which is multiplied by the velocity model of the earth. To determination the position of hypocenter is used earth velocity model assuming a homogeneous of the earth. In reality the Earth containing in layers and the increasing of depth will make the material more compact, so it make the value of velocity wave propagates in each medium increase. It is necessary to recalculate the position of the hypocenter, so new position of hypocenter is accordance with the geological conditions. In this paper will use the study site on Java Island area with the amount of data are 19.685 events of tectonic earthquake. The processing using Matlab software with Jacobian’s matrix calculation and using reference of Jeffreys-Bullen’s velocity model. The results show that the relocation of the hypocenter position shifted relative to the southeast, while the depth become shallower.

Abstract

The financial market investment in Indonesia is growing rapidly, particularly the growth of mutual fund return market and unit link. After the government issued a regulation on Reksadana Kontrak Investasi Kolektif (KIK), the needs of this learning is no longer confined to the institutional investors but it covers wider community. Starting from the development of the financial market investment, the previous studies, and the introductory study conducted by the writers, this study uses several variables; they are inflation, interest rate, ICI, mutual fund returns, and unit link. This study is purposed to analyse the effect of inflation, interest rate, and ICI to the performances of mutual fund return and unit link with panel data. It is also purposed to determine the best regression modelling from panel data which illustrates the linier correlation of inflation, interest rate, ICI and mutual fund returns as well as unit link in order to get the behavioural description and the performancesof mutual fund return and unit link as one of the investment instruments in this modern era. The focused objects are the performance of the products of mutual fund return in the kind of stocks from the investment management firms in Indonesia as well as the performance of the products of unit link in the kind of stocks from life insurance companies in certain year, then the data is called cross section data. Meanwhile, if the focused object is on the time, the data of inflation, interest rate, and ICI as well as the performances of mutual fund return and unit link products in recent yearsis called time series data. The combination of both data, some investment management firms which provide mutual fund return as well as some life insurance companies which provide unit link in Indonesia from 2007 to 2014, is called panel data (pooled data). The result of this study is the best model of mutual fund return and unit link with Fixed Effect (FE) method. The correlation between inflation, interest rate, and ICI to the mutual fund return is 99.30 %. The correlation between inflation, interest rate, and ICI to the unit links is 98.74 %.

Abstract

Let w, w ∈ G = (V, E). A distance in a simple, undirected and connected graph G, denoted by d(v, w), is the length of the shortest path between v and w in G. For an ordered set W = {w1, w2, w3, . . . , wk} of vertices and a vertex v ∈ G, the ordered k-vector r(v|W) = (d(v, w1), d(v, w2), . . . , d(v, wk)) is representations of v with respect to W. The set W is called a resolving set for G if distinct vertices of G have distinct representations with respect to W. The metric dimension dim(G) of G is the minimum cardinality of resolving set for G. The resolving set W of graph G is called non-isolated resolving set if subgraph W is induced by non-isolated vertex. While the minimum cardinality of non-isolated resolving set in graph is called a non-isolated resolving number, denoted by nr(G). In this paper we study a metric dimension with non-isolated resolving number of some exponential graph.

Abstract

By an edge comb, we mean a graph formed by combining two graphs G and H, where each edge of graph G is replaced by the which one edge of graph H, denote by G D H. A vertex colored graph G D H = (V (G D H);E(G D H)) is said rainbow vertex-connected, if for every two vertices u and v in V (G D H), there is a u ???? v path with all internal vertices have distinct color. The rainbow vertex connection number of G D H, denoted by rvc(G D H) is the smallest number of color needed in order to make G D H rainbow vertex-connected. This research aims to find an exact value of the rainbow vertex connection number of exponential graph, namely rvc(G D H) when G D H are Pn D Btm, Sn D Btm, Ln D Btm, Fm;n D Btp, rvc(Pn D Sm), rvc(Cn D Sm), and rvc(Wn D Sm) Wn D Btm. The result shows that the resulting rainbow vertex connection attain the given lower bound.

Abstract

The instrument of decentralization in Indonesia is expected to be able to improve efficiency of public expenditure and further drive economic growth in the regions. However, regional economic growth after the decentralization is still lower than that of before the policy enactment in Indonesia. This raised question whether or not the public expenditure have been efficient after the decentralization and whether or not this efficiency makes positive influences on the economic growth. This research studies correlation between the public expenditure efficiency and the economic growth in East Java and Central Java. The object of this research is public expenditure regencies / cities in East Java and Central Java. The public expenditure in East Java consists of 29 regencies and 9 cities. The public expenditure in Central Java consists of 29 regencies and 6 cities. The data source is pooled data from 2011 to 2016. The analysis is divided into two stages. First, public expenditure efficiency is measured by using Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA) method. The selection of inputs and outputs in this research is based on public expenditures’ functions. In the second stage, regression analysis is conducted to examine the impacts of the public expenditures’ efficiency scores and other determinants on the regional economic growth. The research result shows that, in East Java and Central Java, the public expenditure efficiency scores have positive and significant correlation with the economic growth in the region. Hence, the bigger the efficiency scores of the regional expenditure, the higher the economic growth in the region.
