Abstract

Background: The plantation sector has various kinds of hazards that exist in the environment ranging from physical, chemical, biological, ergonomic, to psychological hazards. This activity aims to provide strengthening for the Occupational Health Effort Post at PTPN XII Kotta Blater, new knowledge related to work risks in plantations and nutrition for plantation workers, as well as health checks for workers; Method: The method of activity is counseling and medical examination which was attended by 52 workers at PTPN XII Kotta Blater; Results: The results showed that the majority of workers had pre-hypertensive blood pressure, BMI obesity level I, high cholesterol levels, normal blood sugar levels, normal uric acid levels, and showed health complaints. The impact of this activity is that workers can understand the risks of work in the working area of rubber plantations and the nutrition of plantation workers and know the diseases that are being suffered; and Conclusion: This activity went quite smoothly but there were still obstacles in terms of officers, readiness of inspection equipment, and technical implementation of activities.Keywords: socialization, plantations, occupational health effort post

Abstract

Background: The focus on reducing stunting rates in Indonesia is accelerating, especially in Jember Regency, which has the highest stunting rate in East Java Province. Findings of anthropometric measurement errors on under-fives and toddlers carried out by posyandu cadres can impact stunting status determination errors. Therefore, the purpose of this community service activity is to increase the understanding and skills of posyandu cadres regarding the problem of stunting nutrition, anthropometric measurements with the main indicators measuring Body Length and Height, as well as filling out the Kartu Menuju Sehat and interpretation of stunting nutritional status. Method: This activity was carried out using lecture, discussion, demonstration, and practice methods with a target of 24 posyandu cadres. Evaluation of this activity was carried out using the pre-test and post-test methods, as well as observation. Educational media in the form of the PATOMPES STUNTING Pocket Book was used in this activity. Results: This activity was attended by 19 posyandu cadres with an adequacy performance value exceeding 75%. The first activity in the form of education using lecture and demonstration methods was carried out for 30 minutes and resulted in an increase in target knowledge of 11.05% based on pre-test and post-test evaluations. The second activity in the form of practicing anthropometric measurements and filling out the Kartu Menuju Sehat, also showed an increase in the skills of posyandu cadres. Conclusion: This community service activity was effective in understanding and skills of Posyandu cadres in Sumberpakem Village regarding stunting nutrition, anthropometric measurements with the main indicators measuring Body Length and Height, as well as filling out the Kartu Menuju Sehat and interpretation of stunting nutritional status.Keywords: anthropometric measurements of stunting, posyandu cadres, stunting education.

Abstract

Background: Premature Ageing can accelerate the emergence of degenerative diseases. Plantation workers or farmers are a group of workers who are very vulnerable to degenerative diseases and accidents in carrying out their work. This activity aims to socialize the prevention of premature aging among plantation workers. Method: This activity uses the counseling method with the target of plantation workers in Pakis Village, Panti District, Jember Regency. The stages of the activities start from the preparation, implementation, and evaluation of activities. The instrument used is a booklet. Results: The socialization contained definitions of premature aging and emerging degenerative diseases, CERDIK prevention, adherence to using personal protective equipment (PPE) while at work, hand washing with soap (CTPS) behavior, and increased knowledge and behavior paying attention to a healthy and balanced nutritional diet, especially foods that contain antioxidants. Participants actively participate through question and answer. Conclusion: socialization activities to increase the knowledge, understanding, and awareness of plantation workers are crucial to prevent premature aging and degenerative diseases.Keywords: prevention, premature aging, plantation workers

Abstract

Background: Tuberculosis (TB) is the 10th most deadly disease globally. Indonesia has the third-largest TB incidence in the world. TB in children is often overlooked due to difficult diagnosis and medication adherence. The role of parents with good knowledge is very important to support the prevention and treatment of TB in children. Method: Knowledge improvement was achieved through literacy about nutrition and TB using Flipchart and Flashcard media "The ABCs of Children with TB" to target guardians of pediatric TB patients and cadres. The activity was carried out at the Sukorambi Health Center Hall on August 12, 2022, using a pre-posttest. Results: The activity went well, attended by 22 guardians of pediatric TB patients and cadres. There was a 3% increase in knowledge. The media was felt to help the education process and was easily understood by the target. Conclusion: Flipchart and Flashcard media "The ABCs of Children with TB" can be used as a tool for cadres when conducting educational activities in the community related to the topic of prevention and treatment of TB in children. Abstract

Background: Hypertension is one of the diseases that causes premature deaths around the world where blood vessels pressure is very high up to 140 / 90 mmHg or more. Based on the results of the analysis of the situation, it is known that hypertension ranks first on the list of most diseases in the Kecamatan Mojoroto. Only about 32,4 % respondents of Kelurahan Banjarmlati Kota Kediri has regularly check their blood pressure. As a form of community service in an effort to prevent hypertension is an activity called EHSENSORI (Edukasi Pencegahan Hipertensi dan Senam Sehat Sore Hari). The purpose of this activity is to improve the knowledge of hypertension prevention and to perform an exercise as physical activity as a form of hypertension prevention. Method: EHSENSORI was a series of activities consist of Edukasi Pencegahan Hipertensi and Senam Sehat Sore Hari. Edukasi Pencegahan Hipertensi is carried out through health counseling by method of lectures with media posters and power points. Senam Sehat Sore Hari is carried out by inviting targets to do exeersice as a form of physical activity..Hypertension prevention evaluation is performed through charging pretest and posttest questionnaires by target, while a healthy afternoon exercise is performed through observation of target enthusiasm during exercise. Results: Through EHSENSORI, the knowledge on the prevention of hypertension can be increased according to the results of pre-test and post-test where the target with high knowledge increased by 86.67%. In addition, the target was very enthusiastic when performing exercise, so the exercise was well perform by the target during the implementation of the community service. Conclusion: Through community service activities EHSENSORI, the knowledge on the prevention of hypertension increased as well as an enthusiastic target during exercise as a form of physical activity in preventing hypertension.Keywords: Hypertension, education, prevention, exercise.
