The journal contents are managed by the Binus Business School, Faculty of Economics and Communications, and Forum Manajemen Indonesia (FMI). BBR has been accredited by DIKTI under the decree number 158/E/KPT/2021. BBR provide a forum for lecturers, academicians, researchers, practitioners, and postgraduate students to publish empirical multidiscipline research in business & management research, from operations to corporate governance and marketing. Abstract

The study aims to investigate the factors affecting companies to disclose financial statement information through internet (internet financial reporting). Assessment of the disclosure uses 29 criteria as used by Abdelsalam et al (2007). The method of testing hypotheses in this study is the linear regression method by comparing the extensive disclosure of financial statements on the internet as the dependent variable and type of industry, firm size, profitability, leverage levels and types of auditors as independent variables. Through the observation 69 listed companies in the KOMPAS100 directory, the study concluded that 59.17% of companies meet the criteria for such disclosure made by Abdelsalam et al (2007). Consistent with some previous studies, factors that play an important role on the level of disclosure is the company's size and corporate profitabilty.

Abstract

Sales functions, receivables and cash receipts, are very important within the company. Sales function is a function which becomes the prime mover in revenues and earnings yields target. Therefore, the effectiveness and efficiency in the sales process, accounts receivable, and cash receipts become very important concern for company. To assess the effectiveness and efficiency of the functions of sales, accounts receivable, and cash receipts should be evaluated. The evaluation was conducted both in terms of procedures, policies, and implementation of the functions of sales, accounts receivable, and cash receipts. Evaluation was done by using the instrument in the form of a questionnaire and analyzing the procedures and policies that exist in PT Livio Furniture. The results of the evaluation of the functions of sales, accounts receivable, and cash receipts obtained the conclusion that internal controls at PT Livio Furniture is good enough and adequate, although still found that become a concern for the company.

Abstract

Clothing Konveksindo CV Gloria is a trading company engaged in the sale of products and clothing items. Therefore, the performance of employees is very important in achieving that goal. The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of ability, effort, and support the company towards the employee's performance CV Gloria Konveksindo Clothing. The method of analysis used in this study is descriptive, Pearson Regression, and Multiple Regression. Data obtained from the appraisal of employee performance by filling in the questionnaire that has been provided by using a Likert scale that is useful to know the degree of disagreement and agreement existing employees to the question on the questionnaire. The results achieved in this study were the ability of employees to work have an influence for 28.8% of employee performance, employee efforts in working to have the effect of 50.6% on employee performance, corporate support for work processes have the effect of 47.7% the performance of employees, while the ability of employees, employee efforts, and support the company has influence for 66.3% of the employee's performance CV Gloria Konveksindo Clothing. With this capability expected of employees, employee efforts, and support the company serve as the main factor to improve employee performance.

Abstract

This paper mainly discusses about strategy of China mobile phone manufacturer. Based on the interview with the manufacturer’s representative, we tried to comprehend the strategy behind the China mobile phone raid in Indonesia. As people know that mobile phone industry keeps on growing day by day, especially by the invention of the Android operating system, an open source OS with integrated capability. By having a free licensed OS, mobile phone manufacturer can focus mainly on their hardware development. Mobile phone industry is getting crowded by the appearance of new players from China. As the result of the interview shown, in short, the manufacturers are growing because of their innovations and ideas to create a new product with competitive price, usage of right media for promotion, and persistence in penetrating the Indonesian market. It is also through this paper that we hoped to invite young entrepreneur to join the manufacturing industry, as it is a fast growing industry that will surely be developed by the fresh ideas of the young generation of Indonesia.

Abstract

As the world has grown more turbulent, the concept of culture has become increasingly important to organizational leaders because the new environment often calls for new values and fresh approach to doing business. Most leaders now understand that when a company’s culture fits the needs of its external environment and company strategy, employee can create an organization that is tough to beat. The method used in this writing is literature study, through literature materials from several sources. There are a lot of examples in success or failure of a company based on their applied organization culture. Google is one company which success in applying adaptive culture in their organization. This example should be modified by other companies to remain in exchanging world and to reach vision and mission in the future.

Abstract

The impact of the financial crisis started from the US hits other countries, and expands into a global economic crisis that has been felt since the second semester of 2008. In the midst of the development which has deterioted and the declining of the public trust in national banking system, banks with Shariah principles become an alternative to the public in obtaining banking services. The research objective is to determine the level of health, funding development, and financing development of BPRS XYZ, before and after the economic crisis in Indonesia. The data collecting technique is secondary data (2006-2009 performance report). Analytical technique used to assess the health of a bank is CAMEL analysis focusing on Capital, Assets, Management, Earning, and Liquidity. From the analysis, it is concluded that BPRS XYZ has improved in health, though in a small percentage. Nevertheless, after the crisis in 2008-2009, it decreased in the ratio of health and increased slightly at the end of 2009. In terms of funding before and after the crisis, BPRS XYZ increased in funds because of the public trust in the transition from conventional banks to Shariah banks. From the financing side, BPRS XYZ developed a very significant financial from 2006 to 2009. Yet, it had not able to meet all the financial requests, due to limited funding.

Abstract

The growing technological applications encourage people to use gadgets as the easiest way to connect their daily lives. The demand for gadgets creates new kind of business opportunities. Many companies can produce supporting product such gadget accessories. One company that engaged in the provision of gadget accessories is Wellcomshop. The company is aggressively increasing sales of gadget accessories. Therefore, the company wants to evaluate the variables that influence purchasing decisions of gadget accessories. The purpose of this study is to determine whether there is influence between variables store atmosphere, merchandise varieties, and quality of service in determining purchasing decisions in Wellcomm Accessories Gadget Shop Mall Citraland. This study is an associative research and using a simple method of correlation and multiple regressions. The population in this study is the consumer Wellcommshop Citraland Mall, while the samples are 90 respondents. The results show that the variation of merchandise (x2) and quality of service (x3) has a significant influence on purchase decisions. While, the atmosphere of the store (x1) does not significantly influence purchasing decisions.

Abstract

Designing Market-Driven Organizations reflects the needs of the customer in the design, roles, and organizational activities. This paper has objectives to review the definitions, concepts, and models relating to the organization based on market needs. The research method used is based on the study of literature references are used as discussion material. The main theories used are the marketing concept, customer value, and design organizations. Conclusion the results of the analysis indicate that the philosophy or concept of marketing is used as the basic design of the organization based on market forces are still relevant to today's conditions.

Abstract

Since the issuance of Presidential Instruction No. 3 / 2003 and Law No. 14/2008, government agencies ranging from central to district level are trying to be the leader in implementing e-government in meeting the information disclosure to the public. Up to this moment, the Ministry of Religious Affairs is still far from perfect in implementing e-Governement as can be seen that very few of them using e-mail as a means of communication and website as a tool to provide better information to the public as well as to support internal organization activities The objective of this research is to study the impact of organization's culture on the successful development and implementation of e-government using measurement method of organizational culture developed by Luthans (1998) where organizational culture is the norms and values that drive the behavior of members of the organizatio having behavioural dimensions of people, structure, technology, and the organization’s environment. The e-Government itself is measured by its benefits. Using Structural Equation Model (SEM) it was found that the organizational culture significantly influence the successful development of and implementation of e-Government where the most significant factors are people dimension and the external environment.

Abstract

The landscape of convenient store businesses or minimarkets now have changed. Location base strategy has not been sufficient any longer now. Psychographic and Demographic approaches tend to share a newly built power. Two main variables that have been managed concern at retail level are the store image and the store atmosphere. While the store image dimensions that can be put into considerations are the items offered, services committed, who and the amount of customers, physical facilities, promotion and convenience, store atmosphere, especially the involvement of affections through built emotions status in store which possibly uncautioned wholly by the customers when doing shopping. Since officially opened, the 7-Eleven had offered unique facilities. Instead of providing instant foods and beverages for 24 hours, the 7-Eleven also provides convenient corners and tables to eat and drink and provides chatting facilities for customers who need it. These make other modern retailers following the concept: opened for 24 hours and providing chatting facilities for young people.
