Abstract

The Control of Mangosteen Yellow Latex Using Seaweed Extract and Potassium Fertilizer. The yellow latex disease decreases fruit quality of mangosteen because of exogenic latex causes dirty fruit and the endogenic latex makes the bitter fruit taste, then it does not deserve to be consumed. The causal agent of the disease was Verticillium alboatrum, Fusarium oxysporum, and Pestalotia macrotricha. Control using synthetic chemical for the fungus is severely decreasing the quality of the environment, therefore the use of organic agent such as botanical fungicide and the use of potassium fertilizer is recommended. The purpose of this research is to find the dose of potassium fertilizer and sea weed extract to decrease yellow latex disease of mangosteen fruit. The research was done in-vivo in the field with indicator of the decrease of yellow latex incident. The research showed that potassium fertilizer of 1.5 kg/plant combine with 1% extract was the best treatment with the lowest yellow latex incident of 9.4%. The treatment effective decreasing the disease of 56.3% compared to control and 56.9% when it is compared to 0,2% Antracol fungicide.

Abstract

The Community of Nematode in The Young Coffee ( Coffea Canephora Var. Robusta ) Crops in Tanggamus District, Lampung. Tanggamus district is one of coffee production center in Lampung province. Since year of 2013, farmers in Tanggamus have been replaced the unproductive old coffee by coffee seed introduced from East Java. Introducing coffe seed from outside area at risk of carrying plant parasitic nematodes. The purpose of this research was to study community of nematode associated with young coffee crops in Tanggamus. Survey was conducted in coffee robusta (Coffea canephora var. robusta) fields belonging to farmer on September 2014. Soil samples were collected from three sites: Margo Mulyo, Sumber Rejo and Batu Bedil. Nematodes were extracted by sieving and centrifugation with sugar solution method. The results show that were 20 genera consisted of 9 genera of plant parasitic and 11 genera of free living nematodes associated with young coffee in Tanggamus. The nematode community was dominated by Pratylenchus and Radopholus. The population of Pratylenchus and Radopholus in Sumber Rejo site were 421 and 846 individual per 300 ml of soil respectively. It was needed to indentify up to species taxonomic level for Pratylenchus and Radopholus associated with young coffee in Tanggamus.

Abstract

Local Probiotics Microbial Effect on Improvement of Hybrid Maize Production.Nationalmaize needs continue to increase every year, either for food, feed and industrial raw materials. To meetthis requirement Indonesia have to do import corn because the production at the farm level is still lowdue to poor application of resource integrated crop management (ICM) including the use of localprobiotic microbes. This study aims to determine the effect of applying maizeintegrated resourcemanagement ( ICM - maize ) using Local Probiotic Microbial fertilizer. The experiment was conductedin the village Cicurug, Majalengka Subdistricts, District Majalengka using a Randomized Block DesignComplete (RCBD), with four treatments and six replications. The treatment of local probiotic microbeswere: the dose of 3 l ha-1 Agri Simba, the dose of 3 l ha-1 Agri Simba + 1.500 g of urea, the dose of 6l ha-1 Agri Simba, and a dose of 6 l ha-1 Agri Simba + 3.000 g of urea. The results showed that the doseof applying local probiotic microbes (Agri Simba) has significant effect on growth, yield componentsand yield of hybrid maize varieties P-21.The highest yieldof dried shelled beans was 12.20 t ha-1achievedby the dose of 6 l ha-1Agri Simba+ 3.000 g urea. The lowest yield was 8.73 t ha-1 that obtained at doseof 3 l ha-1 Agri Simba. The componentsthat support tne yield of theP-21 hybrid maize wereweightofcob, number of rows per ear and weight of 100 grains.

Abstract

Nitrogen is one important element in plant growth. In soybean crop nitrogen requirement can bemet from the fixation of nitrogen which is the result of symbiosis between rhizobium bacteria withsoybean. A study on the relationship between soybean cultivar and rhizobium inoculation was conductedin Banguntapan Bantul Yogyakarta on regusol soils. Research aimed the responses of soybean cultivarof rhizobium inoculation. This research is a pot experiment that tested the response of 16 soybeancultivars of rhizobium inoculation. The sixteen cultivars consisted of 12 superior cultivars and 4 localcultivars. Before planting soybean seeds were inoculated with legin. Land used first sterilized usingautoclaves. Determination of soybean cultivars into four categories based on agronomic charactersnodule number, nodule dry weight, canopy N content, nitrogenase activity and grain yield components(seed dry weight). The study demonstrated that (1) Cultivars Anjasmara, Sibayak, Surya, Gepak yellow,Galunggung, Argomulyo and Baluran provide a response to rhizobium inoculation in the form of increasednitrogen fixation and grain yield (2) rhizobium inoculation on Tanggamus cultivars can increase nitrogenfixation but not followed by an increase in grain yield (3) rhizobium inoculation in cultivar Malabar,Seulawah and Petek not increase nitrogen fixation but can increase grain yield (4) rhizobium inoculationin cultivar Ijen, Sinabung, Wilis, Grobogan, and Garut not increase nitrogen fixation and grain yield.

Abstract

The Effect of Interaction and Value of Interaction on Factorial Experiment. In a factorial experiment, the effect of combination treatment can be divided into three components: (1) a simple effect; (2) the influence of factors, and (3) the influence of interactions. Interaction Value (NI) contained in the combination treatment is different with the influence of interaction, and the interaction value (NI) is always found in combination treatment, which may have a positive, zero, and negative value, under the condition that the sum of interaction value (NI) at ech level of treatment equals to zero. The formula of value of interaction (NI): NI ij = Yij - Yi. - Y.j + Y..
