Abstract

The era of globalization requires Islamic educational institutions to adapt to the increasingly fierce dynamics of global competition. Competition occurs not only between conventional educational institutions, but also with international institutions that offer technology-based educational services and global quality. This study aims to analyze the concepts, strategies, and innovations of Islamic education marketing in the context of modern global-oriented management. The research method used is a literature study with a descriptive-analytical approach. The results show that Islamic educational institutions need to integrate Islamic values with modern marketing strategies through religious branding, digital marketing, strengthening service quality, and curriculum innovation relevant to global needs. In conclusion, the success of Islamic education marketing in the global era is highly dependent on the ability of institutions to manage innovation and maintain competitive advantages based on spiritual values and professionalism.

Abstract

This study aims to describe about the transformation of Islamic organizational culture in madrasah as a strategic effort to develop a quality-oriented learning environment. Using a literature review approach, that examine the role of spirituality, leadership, and management innovation in enhancing educational quality within Islamic institutions. The results reveal that Islamic organizational culture anchored in values such as sincerity (ikhlas), trustworthiness (amanah), and collective responsibility serves as a moral and managerial foundation for creating effective and sustainable educational systems. Furthermore, spiritual leadership emerges as a key driver in strengthening teachers’ professional commitment and fostering continuous quality improvement. Madrasah that successfully integrate Islamic values into their management practices demonstrate higher levels of teacher satisfaction, student engagement, and institutional effectiveness. However, challenges remain in bridging the gap between ideal Islamic values and real-world administrative practices, particularly in resource-limited institutions. The study concludes that the transformation of Islamic organizational culture must be positioned as a central agenda in the quality development of madrasah. By harmonizing spiritual values with modern quality management principles, Islamic educational institutions can not only improve academic performance but also cultivate ethical and holistic human resources

Abstract

This study aims to analyze (1) technical skills, (2) interpersonal skills, and (3) conceptual skills of principals based on the local wisdom of Tamiang Traditional Culture (Adat Budaya Tamiang/ABT) in improving teacher performance in elementary schools of Aceh Tamiang Regency. This research employed a qualitative method with a case study approach. The research subjects consisted of principals, teachers, and representatives of the Aceh Tamiang Traditional Council (MAA) from two schools, namely SD Negeri 1 Sungai Liput and SD Negeri 1 Sriwijaya. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that: (1) The principals technical skills were reflected in their ability to formulate and manage RKS and RKAS through deliberation, integrate ABT into the curriculum, utilize internet-based learning media, provide cultural literacy resources such as the Tamiang language dictionary, and manage school facilities through the spirit of gotong royong (collective work). These programs contributed to improving teacher performance through clear planning, facility support, and work guidelines rooted in local wisdom. (2) Interpersonal skills were demonstrated through polite and ethical communication based on Tamiang customs, conflict resolution using a familial and consensus approach, teacher empowerment through kelompok belajar (teacher learning groups), participatory practices, and the creation of a collaborative work climate. This approach enhanced teacher motivation, commitment, and discipline. (3) Conceptual skills were evident in the principals’ ability to formulate a vision and mission grounded in Tamiang cultural values, adapt national education policies to the local context, build solid teamwork, conduct data-based evaluations (including school performance reports, BOS Kinerja achievements, and “Beautiful Classroom” assessments), and involve communities and traditional institutions in school programs, including traditions such as pesejuk and the use of Malay Tamiang traditional attire. This study concludes that the managerial abilities of school principals based on the local wisdom of Tamiang cultural values significantly contribute to improving teacher performance through the application of technical, interpersonal, and conceptual skills rooted in local traditions. Principals are able to plan programs through deliberation, build harmonious working relationships, and interpret educational policies in accordance with the Tamiang cultural context. The integration of values such as togetherness, mutual cooperation, and social responsibility strengthens teachers’ professionalism while fostering students’ character and cultural identity.

Abstract

This study discusses student management in character building at SMA Negeri 1 Simpang Tiga, Pidie Regency, considering the importance of character development in raising students’ awareness of good character and how to integrate character values into daily school activities. The aim of this study is to analyze the planning of student management by the principal in character building, the implementation of student management by the principal, and the evaluation of student management by the principal in shaping students’ character. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews with the principal, school supervisor, school committee, teachers, school operator, students’ parents, and students, as well as through document analysis related to school policies and programs. The results of the study are as follows: (1) The principal has managed student affairs well at SMA Negeri 1 Simpang Tiga, but improvements are still needed in certain aspects, such as the development of character curriculum and extracurricular activities. (2) The school supervisor emphasized the importance of parental and community involvement in supporting students’ character development. (3) The school committee stressed the importance of effective communication between the school and parents in monitoring students’ character development. (4) Teachers at SMA Negeri 1 Simpang Tiga have made efforts to shape students’ character, but improvements are needed in areas such as the development of effective teaching methods. (5) Parents highlighted the importance of the school’s active role in character building. (6) Students at SMA Negeri 1 Simpang Tiga have a good awareness of positive character traits, but there is still a need to improve their sense of responsibility and discipline.

Abstract

Islamization in the context of education is a systematic process aimed at instilling Islamic values into all aspects of students’ lives. This study aims to analyze the influence of Islamization on the formation of students’ lifestyle in order to create a young generation that is of good character, competitive, and morally upright. The approach used is a qualitative approach with a library research method, namely by reviewing various relevant literature on the concept of Islamization, character education, and the formation of an Islamic lifestyle in the school environment. The results of the study show that Islamization plays an important role in shaping students’ personality and behavior through the integration of Islamic values in the curriculum, habituation of worship practices, and teachers’ role modeling. Values such as honesty, responsibility, discipline, hard work, and social awareness become the foundation for the formation of an Islamic lifestyle that is able to balance spiritual, intellectual, and social aspects. In addition, Islamization contributes to strengthening students’ moral resilience amid the currents of globalization and modernization that often carry materialistic and secular values. With the consistent implementation of Islamization, schools can become centers for shaping a young generation that is faithful, knowledgeable, ethical, and broad-minded. This generation is expected to be able to adapt to the times without losing their Islamic identity, and to become agents of change who bring progress to the nation and the ummah.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an Arabic language learning module based on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) to improve students' higher-order thinking skills at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Muhammadiyah North Sumatra (UMSU). The study used the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model which includes the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. At the analysis stage, it was found that Arabic language learning was still dominated by low-order thinking skills (LOTS) and did not provide analytical, evaluative, and creative activities as required by the OBE curriculum. The developed module was validated by material experts and learning design experts with the assessment results being in the very feasible category. A limited trial on 32 students showed a significant increase in HOTS skills, evidenced by the difference in pre-test and post-test scores, as well as an increase in the ability to analyze texts, evaluate arguments, and produce new texts in Arabic. Student responses were also very positive towards the use of the module because it was considered interesting, challenging, and helped understand Arabic texts more deeply. The results of the study indicate that the HOTS-based Arabic language learning module is effective, feasible to use, and has the potential to be widely applied in Arabic language courses at universities..

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), as traditional Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia, often face a negative public image portraying them as closed, rigid, and less adaptive to modern challenges such as radicalism, narcotics, and bullying. The background of this issue stems from stereotypes reinforced by mass and social media, which highlight cases of isolation without contextualizing positive aspects, as well as from the public’s limited understanding of moderate Islamic values such as tolerance and empathy. This condition hinders the role of pesantren as agents of social change and as institutions shaping the character of the younger generation. This study employs both qualitative and quantitative methods, including surveys, in-depth interviews with pesantren leaders, alumni, and community members, as well as literature reviews to identify the factors contributing to stigma and strategies for its mitigation. This approach is grounded in philosophical, sociological, and juridical foundations, such as Law Number 18 of 2019 on Pesantren, which emphasizes adaptability and innovation. The findings indicate that effective strategies include curriculum modernization through the integration of general sciences and technology, social media campaigns to build positive narratives, anti-bullying programs through counseling and conflict resolution skills training, and partnerships with government and local communities for social initiatives such as narcotics prevention. The discussion reveals that these approaches successfully reduce stigma, strengthen public trust, and reinforce the inclusivity of pesantren as a safe and harmonious learning environment. The conclusion asserts that overcoming negative imagery requires multidimensional collaboration to realize the vision of pesantren as a relevant, inclusive, and competitive pillar of national education, thereby contributing to the development of a morally grounded generation in the modern era.

Abstract

AbstractStrategic planning is an integral part of the educational management process. This process is essential in directing all institutional activities toward a systematic, measurable, and goal-oriented approach. This study aims to examine the strategic value of planning in enhancing the effectiveness of educational administration at SMAN 10 Sijunjung. It explores the planning process, its implementation, and its influence on the effectiveness of educational programs within the school.This research employs a qualitative approach using a descriptive method. Data were collected through individual interviews with the principal, vice principals, teachers, and administrative staff, complemented by direct observations and a review of relevant written documents. The findings reveal that the strategic planning function at SMAN 10 Sijunjung includes forecasting educational needs, setting priorities, preparing budgets, and conducting evaluations. A participatory and comprehensive planning process has proven to improve the effectiveness of educational management, as evidenced by increased resource efficiency, the achievement of educational program objectives, and the enhancement of educational service quality.Therefore, strategic planning is more than just a technical recommendation; it serves as a key driver for effective and sustainable education. This study recommends improving the planning competencies of all participants within the school system to ensure long-term sustainability and the continuous improvement of educational quality. Keywords: Strategic planning, effectiveness, educational management, SMAN 10 Sijunjung AbstrakPerencanaan strategis merupakan bagian integral dari proses manajemen pendidikan. Proses ini sangat penting dalam mengarahkan seluruh kegiatan lembaga pendidikan menuju pendekatan yang sistematis, terukur, dan berorientasi pada tujuan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji nilai strategis perencanaan dalam meningkatkan efektivitas administrasi pendidikan di SMAN 10 Sijunjung. Penelitian ini membahas proses perencanaan, implementasinya, dan pengaruhnya terhadap efektivitas program pendidikan di sekolah.Penelitian ini menerapkan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara secar individual dengan kepala sekolah, wakil kepala sekolah, guru, serta staf tata usaha, disertai dengan observasi lansung dan telaah terhadap dokumen tertulis yang relevan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa fungsi perencanaan strategis di SMAN 10 Sijunjung meliputi prediksi kebutuhan pendidikan, penetapan prioritas, penyusunan anggaran, dan pelaksanaan evaluasi. Perencanaan yang partisipatif dan menyeluruh telah terbukti meningkatkan efektivitas penyelenggaraan pendidikan, terbukti dari peningkatan efisiensi sumber daya, pencapaian tujuan program pendidikan, dan peningkatan kualitas layanan pendidikan.Oleh karena itu, perencanaan strategis lebih dari sekadar rekomendasi teknis. Perencanaan strategis juga merupakan pendorong penting bagi pendidikan yang efektif dan berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini menyarankan peningkatan kemampuan perencanaan seluruh peserta dalam sistem sekolah guna memastikan kelangsungan jangka panjang dan peningkatan kualitas pendidikan. Kata Kunci: Perencanaan strategis, efektivitas, manajemen pendidikan, SMAN 10 Sijunjung

Abstract

The rise of intolerance and radicalism among adolescents has become a serious challenge in the field of education, particularly in Islamic Religious Education (PAI). This study aims to examine the extent to which the values of religious moderation such as tolerance, anti-radicalism, and patriotism are integrated into the PAI curriculum at the secondary school level. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach through content analysis of curriculum documents, including Core Competencies (KI), Basic Competencies (KD), syllabi, and PAI textbooks. The findings reveal that the values of religious moderation are reflected in several learning materials, especially on topics such as ethics toward others, interfaith harmony, and the role of religion in national life. However, the implementation of these values in the classroom still faces obstacles, such as limited teacher understanding and a tendency toward normative teaching methods. Therefore, strengthening the curriculum and enhancing teacher competence in delivering moderation values are urgently needed to ensure that PAI effectively contributes to shaping a generation of moderate, tolerant, and patriotic Muslims.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of Islamic thought in strategic management and to formulate a strategic management model based on Islamic values at Pesantren Al-Hamidy Banyuanyar. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, using in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation as data collection techniques. The research informants include the pesantren caregivers, institutional leaders, teachers (asatidz), and managers of educational units. Data analysis follows the Miles and Huberman model, consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that the application of strategic management at Pesantren Al-Hamidy is grounded in Islamic principles such as shūrā, amānah, itqān, and maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah. The strategic planning process is carried out through structured deliberation, strengthening of the vision and mission, and determining program priorities based on the needs of students and the community. At the implementation stage, the values of amānah and discipline serve as the main foundation for human resource management and program execution. Strategy evaluation is conducted periodically through weekly deliberation forums and quarterly evaluation meetings. This study produces a strategic management model grounded in Islamic thought consisting of four main components: Islamic value foundation, strategy formulation, strategy implementation, and continuous evaluation. This model is expected to serve as a reference for Islamic educational institutions in developing effective and spiritually oriented strategic management
