Abstract

In the digitalization era nowadays, the use of social media has a huge impact on the lives of children and teenagers. Social media produces both positive and negative impacts. The positive impact of social media is to help and support their daily lives such as making it easier for the children and the teenagers to complete their school assignments. In the other side, some of the negative impacts of using social media that hinders human life such as isolating an individual from his group and accessing inappropriate information for children which can endanger their lives. One of the good impacts of social media on children and teenagers is that they can learn how to communicate well and connect with other people through social media. They can also learn foreign languages by connecting to foreigners through social media. There are more good impacts on them by using social media. However, there are also bad impacts on the children in using social, one of which is the possibility for them being connected to any individuals or any communities that can negatively impact on them and even endanger their lives. Abstract

Maritime security still focuses on the territorial sovereignty of a country. Environmental disasters and transboundary humanitarian crimes that occur at sea are a challenge for International Relations academics to reformulate maritime security. British Petroleum (BP) is negligent in implementing safety standards in oil exploration and exploitation in the Gulf of Mexico, United States resulting in oil leakage on the Deepwater Horizon platform. This research uses the Deepwater Horizon case study in exploring the relevance of maritime security in the prevention and management of marine pollution disasters. Primary data sources were taken from observations of researchers in seminars related to the Deepwater Horizon and secondary data were obtained from journals, electronic news and official reports from the US Government. There are two findings obtained. First, contemporary maritime security is much more complex than traditional maritime security and second, contemporary maritime security involves an element of justice seeking as demonstrated by the United States Court's decision against BP regarding negligence in the Deepwater Horizon. Abstract

Amazon is an American company that is based in Seattle. This company deals in e-commerce, it's the largest internet-based store and is owned by Jeff Bezos. The company was founded on July 5, 1994. With Amazon committed to a climate pledge, this means amazon has the responsibility to make a change towards the environment and the world Amazon purchases renewable energy outside of the current grid mix to promote the production and creation of new renewable energy. These sources were diverse in order to collect enough information: books, journals, and websites were all included in the creation of this text. Since we used to be able to comprehend sentences and perceptions, we use qualitative research analyst approaches to collect data. Renewable energy comes from naturally restoring yet flow-limited sources. Renewable resources are basically limitless in terms of duration but have a finite quantity of energy per amount of time. Amazon has a huge impact on the economy in the US. With the many investments that Amazon has made for the development of its own employees and unfortunate children.According to the North Carolina sustainable energy association Clean energy includes both renewable energy and energy saved through energy efficiency measures. And with Amazon and Tesla being US-based companies this will make the U.S seen as a country with advanced technology and also become advanced and foremost in terms of politics of energy. Abstract

The current surplus of electricity across Indonesia has further underlined many opportunities to optimize the usage of electricity in many sectors; including on the issue of Electric Vehicle (EV) ownership within the country. According to the government’s projection, the state-owned enterprise (SOE) of PLN would construct 254.181 units of charging stations by 2030. However, there exists the problem of ‘chicken and egg’; in which more EV charging stations would be required to spur EV sales and vice versa. In addition to that, the lack of charging stations has also led to the disinterest from the public to purchase EVs due to fear of range anxiety. Hence, this paper is written to address the importance of publicly funded charging stations in Indonesia to help cultivate EV development within the country. Not only that, since Indonesia is the largest member country of ASEAN, it could be the ‘trendsetter’ of this issue in the region and would have the upper hand position as an early adopter. Our hypotheses suggest that not only publicly funded the development of charging stations would be beneficial to the future-buyer of EV, but also for the government itself. Abstract

The 2017 Rohingya ethnic’s mass massacre that happened in Rakhine states, Myanmar had been paid ASEAN attention in which ASEAN has established a specific body that can handle the concerning matters in this case. This body is called AICHR (ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights), with its particular function to address human rights issues to maintain the harmony between goals and principles of ASEAN Charter. Concerning ASEAN Charter, surely, AICHR is expected to align with the non-intervention principle of ASEAN. Consequently, it is inevitable for AICHR to undergo this mission with uncertainty to decide AICHR’s way to handle this case. Through using the qualitative research method in this paper, we could at least understand this case easily by being described enough from our collected data, then synchronously we could picture these two major ideas in this paper, namely AICHR and ASEAN Way whether in a partial or impartial technique to know how AICHR contribute while under the influence of ASEAN Way in this Rohingya Case, and to thoroughly solve this Rohingya case, it is our main goal to make this paper as considerable as possible to be discussed.

Abstract

Cases of human rights violations continue to occur in the Asian region, including the ASEAN region, even though ASEAN countries have agreed to adopt the ASEAN Human Rights Declaration. In fact, the practice of AHRD is still minimally considered by ASEAN and ASEAN members themselves. Indonesia as an ASEAN member is also still taking action against human rights such as the case in Papua, not only local residents who get human rights violations from the government, but also from some data it is found that Papuan human rights activists are also intimidated. In this case, it can be seen that the implementation of the AHRD has not been fully maximized in Indonesia in handling cases of human rights violations contained in the points in the AHRD.

Abstract

AEC has played an important role in many sectors, notably in the health and medical field. The urgency of an efficacious and adequate health system is becoming evident after COVID-19 pandemic ravaged the world. The lack of required health system is immensely faced by Indonesia, embroiled in the lack of medical workers and equipment. Previous studies claim that AEC can be a momentous relief for Indonesia’s problem on its health system. However, previous studies concerning this topic were solely focused on the supply of medical workers and all of them were published in pre-COVID 19 pandemic era. In this research, the authors study the analysis of AEC’s possible contribution to tackle the problems of Indonesia’s health system, which become much more intense as a consequence to COVID-19. This paper’s findings are acquired through qualitative methods by analyzing various secondary resources of books, journals, news, and government publications based on diagnostic research design. Through this, a diagnostic design will be used in this research by identifying the problems faced by Indonesia’s health system and analyzing whether AEC’s provisions are able to dispense effective cures. In this research, the authors found that Indonesia’s lack of medical equipment and pharmaceuticals products can be mitigated through ASEAN Medical Device Directives (AMDD) and policies created by the Pharmaceutical Product Working Group (PPWG). As in the “muddle” of Indonesia’s lack of medical workforces, AEC’s Mutually Recognized Agreements (MRAs) and the Movement of Natural Persons (MNP) Agreement ease the mobility of foreign nurses and doctors.
