Abstract

The Village Consultative Body (BPD) is the embodiment of village democracy. Democracy means that in administering government and development it must always pay attention to the aspirations of the community which are articulated and aggregated by the BPD and other social institutions. In the context of the existence of BPD, women need to have representatives in the formulation and determination of policies, this model is referred to as representative, and is also able to influence the process and substance of public policy, referred to as influence participation. The representation of women in the membership of the Village Consultative Body (BPD) is very important to oversee women's aspirations so that they become village public policy. The aim of this research is to find out how women participate in recruiting members of the Village Consultative Body (BPD) in Central Wologai Village. Qualitative descriptive methods were used in this research. The figure of 30% as a critical minority is the minimum quota limit for women in government institutions in accordance with the 1995 UN Development Report which analyzed gender and development in 17 countries. The findings in this study show that recruitment of Village Consultative Body (BPD) members in Central Wologai village shows that women's representation has increased from the minimum limit of 30%. The results of the recruitment of BPD members showed that women's representation reached 64.1%.

The aim of this research is to find out about the recruitment process for female legislative candidates by the West Java NasDem Party in the 2024 Legislative Election and what factors influence it. This research uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques that include observation and literature study. The data analysis techniques used include data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of this research show that; that; 1) In the process of recruiting female legislative candidate candidates for the 2024 elections, the West Java Province NasDem Party tends to be exclusive and closed in terms of deciding which female legislative candidate candidates will run. Data shows that the NasDem Party's female legislative candidates who are contesting in the XI electoral district in West Java are mostly dominated by businessmen, and are followed by party administrators. 2) There are several factors that influence the recruitment of female legislative candidate candidates by the West Java NasDem Party which include; Political parties are still neglectful in making decisions regarding women's aspirations, parties do not have a program to empower women cadres, patriarchal stigma makes support from the family or from the community still weak, limited access to capital to support women's activities in the political environment, and the inability to balance Maximum time for political activities in parliament.

Abstract

This study extends the Pyramid of Digital Activism conceptualized by George and Leidner (2019) to the global environmental movement, using Greta Thunberg as a case study. The proposed framework categorizes digital activists into three tiers: gladiators, transition, and spectators. The gladiator level is characterized by eco-celebrity status, confrontative nature, and the utilization of digital activism. Greta Thunberg exemplifies this tier through her confrontative activism, strategic use of digital media, and global recognition as an eco-celebrity. This research explores Thunberg's impact on environmental politics in Indonesia, highlighting how her digital activism has galvanized a new generation of eco-activists and influenced policy discussions. By leveraging social media, Thunberg has transcended geographical barriers, demonstrating the potential of digital activism to foster significant environmental advocacy and policy change. The study concludes that the new Pyramid of Global Environmental Activism framework provides a robust model for understanding the dynamics and impact of digital activism within the environmental movement.
