Abstract

This research aims to improve students' learning activities on the subjects of Indonesian language using model AIR (Auditory, Intellectual, Repetition) in the fifth grade. The research was done on March to May 2015. The subjects were students of class V SD with the number of students 20 and the object is the students' learning activities in the Indonesian language lessons using AIR models (Auditory, Intellectual, Repetition). The study was conducted by two cycles, one cycle consisting of two meetings. In the first cycle is done the planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Data collection techniques used were observation of student learning activities and observation of activities of teachers. Based on this research, the data can be obtained as follows: In the first cycle of the first meeting, there are 9 people who are active with the percentage of 45% and the second meeting there were 11 people who are active as a percentage: 55%. Silkus II At the first meeting there were 17 people who are active as a percentage: 85% and the second meeting there were 20 people who are active with the percentage of students who are active: 100%. The average value of grade increased each meeting. In the first cycle of meetings I value the class average was 59.73 and the meeting II was 72.17. At the first meeting of the second cycle the average value is 84.01 and the meeting class II is 93.81. The results of the research that has been done and from data analysis can be concluded that by using AIR models (Auditory, Intellectual, Repetition) can improve students' learning activities on the subjects of class V SDN Indonesian Medan Helvetia FY 066 046 2014/2015. Therefore, it is suggested that the teachers can use the Model AIR (Auditory, Intellectual, Repetition) in learning.Keywords : Learning activities, learning model, AIR (Auditory, Intellectual, Repetition)

Abstract

ABSTRAK Realistic mathematics education (RME) salah satu dari sekian banyak cara mengajar matematika yang mengangkat kehidupan sehari-hari sebagai titik awal dalam membangun konsep matematika. Tulisan ini didasarkan pada studi literatur dari berbagai tulisan ilmiah yang telah dipublikasikan melalui buku maupun jurnal ilmiah. RME ditemukan karena melihat banyaknya permasalahan matematika yang disebabkan karena peserta didik kurang memahami apa yang mereka pelajari dalam materi matematika. Matematika dianggap sebagai mata pelajaran yang sangat jauh dari kehidupan sehari- hari manusia dan hampir tidak memiliki manfaat untuk dipelajari. RME memiliki lima prinsip yang mampu mengembalikan kembali pemikiran yang salah mengenai belajar matematika dan melihat betapa pentingnya mempelajari matematika dalam aktivitas sehari- hari manusia. Lima prinsip dalam RME, yakni 1) Penggunaan konteks, 2) Penggunaan model untuk matematisasi progresif, 3) Pemanfaatan hasil konstruksi peserta didik, 4) Interaktivitas, 5) Keterkaitan.Pembelajaran matematika yang menggunakan RME mampu menolong siswa semakin memaknai kelas pembelajaran matematika di sekolah. Kata kunci:Realistic mathematics education (RME), Matematisasi progresif, Kontstruksi, Interaktivitas, Keterkaitan. ABSTRACT Realistic mathematics education (RME) is one way from many mathematic instructions that made our daily live as a starting point to build mathematic concept. This article is based upon other literatures which published in a journals or books. RME was founded for the problem that experienced by student to understand mathematics. Recently, many students thought mathematics as abstract education which has no relation in their life and has no function. RME has five principles which able to turn over the wrong concept about mathematic and also to explain how important learn mathematic in our day life. These five principles are: 1) Contextual function 2) Model for progressive mathematic 3) Using the construction of students 4) Interactivity 5) Intertwinement. Mathematic instruction which using RME able to give more understanding about mathematic in the school. Abstract

The background of this research is the incapacity of teachers in developing syllabi and lesson plan (RPP). This research is a classroom action research (CAR) at SMP 21 Ambon which aims to improve the competence of teachers in developing the syllabus through professional development with cooperative approach. The study was conducted in two cycles involving collaborators. These results indicated that the ability of teachers/participants in understand-ing of the syllabus and lesson plan (RPP) increased, from an average of 65.31% to 78.75%. The activity teacher/participants also increased which is marked by the increasing boldness of teachers in asking questions and raising such issues and increased cooperation of teachers in developing learning tools, especially for teachers in one subject cluster.Keywords : learning syllabus, lesson plans, Classroom Action Research (CAR).

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aims to improve students' motivation after learning performed using the methodof the Listening Team in the subject of Social Science, Class V of Elelemntary School,totaling 25 students. The data collection technique used is observation sheets andquestionnaires. This research was conducted in two cycles of the first cycle and the secondcycle through four stages: planning, action, observation / observation, and reflection. Theresults obtained that student motivation menglami significant improvement. It can be seenfrom the increase in average student motivation for each cycle, t the average score of hefirst cycle students' motivation, namely 68,68. 16 students were motivated with a percentage(64%), 7 students were motivated enough by percentage (28 %), and 2 students are notmotivated by the percentage (8%) and an increase in the second cycle is the average scoreof student motivation 78.08 i.e, 24 students were motivated by the percentage (96%), onlyone of the students was sufficiently motivated with percentage (4%) and no student wasmotivated with percentage (0%). The results of the questionnaire distributed to studentsalso increased, namely on the initial conditions before action there were only three studentswho have learnt high motivation with a percentage of 12% and thereafter Learning MethodsListening Team increased with the data in the first cycle of 10 students who have themotivation to learn with a high percentage of 40% and the second cycle of 23 students whohave high motivation to learn with the percentage of 92%. It can be concluded that the useof learning methods Listening Team can increase students' motivation.Keywords: Methods, Learning, Listening Team Motivation.ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatan motivasi belajar siswa setelah dilakukanpembelajaran menggunakan Metode Listening Team Pada Mata Pelajaran IPS Di Kelas VSD, yang berjumlah 25 orang siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalahmenggunakan lembar observasi dan angket. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam dua siklus yaitusiklus I dan siklus II yang melalui 4 tahap yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan,pengamatan/observasi, dan refleksi. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh bahwa motivasi belajarsiswa menglami peningkatan yang signifikan. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari peningkatan rataratamotivasi belajar siswa untuk tiap siklus, pada siklus I skor rata-rata motivasi belajarsiswa 68,68 yaitu 16 orang siswa termotivasi dengan persentase (64%), 7 orang siswacukup termotivasi dengan persentase (28%), dan 2 orang siswa tidak termotivasi denganpersentase (8%) dan terjadi peningkatan pada siklus II yaitu dengan skor rata-rata motivasibelajar siswa 78,08 yaitu 24 orang siswa termotivasi dengan persentase (96%), 1 orangsiswa cukup termotivasi dengan persentasse (4%) dan tidak ada siswa yang tidaktermotivasi denganpersentase (0%). Hasil penelitian dari angket yang dibagikan pada siswajuga mengalami peningkatan yaitu pada kondisi awal sebelum tindakan hanya ada 3 siswayang memiliki motivasi belajar tinggi dengan persentase 12% dan setelah dilaksanakanMetode Pembelajaran Listening Team mengalami peningkatan dengan data pada siklus I10 siswa yang memiliki motivasi belajar tinggi dengan persentase 40% dan pada siklus II23 siswa yang memiliki motivasi belajar tinggi dengan persentase 92%. Dengan demikiandapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan metode pembelajaran Listening Team dapatmeningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa.Kata kunci: Metode, pembelajaran, Listening Team Motivasi

Abstract

Issues about native English speaker teachers (NESTs) versus non-native English speaker teachers (NNESTs) have become a never ending debate. Whether native English speaker teachers or non-native English speaker teachers who are more appropriate to teach English in outer or expanding circle countries have been discussed and researched by some scholars. This paper discusses about people’s preference towards both of them by investigating previous research about people’s perception towards native English speaker teachers and non-native English speaker teachers. This paper also explores another issue arising from the dichotomy of native and non-native i.e. Whose English and what English should be taught in Indonesia. Abstract

ABSTRACTTeacher’s performance plays a crucial role in achieving quality of education and good character of students. Low teacher’s performance will decrease quality of graduates itself. Based on datas in Depok City, West Jawa, teacher’s performance is in priority programs of government, and still need to be increased. The obejctives of this research is to investigate whether there exists any direct positive effect of transormational leadership, work culture, self learning and work commitment towards teacher’s performance at State Junior High School in Depok City, West Java. A total of 91 from 974 teachers were sampled to collect data which was then analyzed using path analysis quantitative method. The result shows that there exists a positive direct effect of (1) transformational leadership towards teacher’s performance, (2) work culture towards teacher’s performance, (3) self learning towards teacher’s perfomance, (4) work commitment towards teacher’s performance, (5) transformational leadership towards work commitment, (6) work culture towards work commitment, (7) self learning towards work commitment, (8) transformational leadership towards self learning, (9) work culture towards self learning, and (10) transformational leadership towards work culture.Keywords: teacher’s performance, transformational leadership, work culture, self learning, work commitment.ABSTRAKTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat hubungan langsung positif kepemimpinan transformasional, budaya kerja, self learning, dan komitmen kerja terhadap kinerja guru SMP Negeri di Depok Jawa Barat. Sebanyak 91 dari 947guru digunakan sebagai sampel penelitian untuk memperoleh data yang kemudian dianalisis menggunakan metode kuantitatif analisis jalur.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan langsung positif (1) kepemimpinan transformasional terhadap kinerja guru, (2) budaya kerja terhadap kinerja guru, (3) self learning terhadap kinerja guru, (4) komitmen kerja terhadap kinerja guru, (5) kepemimpinan transformasional terhadap komitmen kerja, (6) budaya kerja terhadap komitmen kerja, (7) kepemimpinan transformasional terhadap self learning, (8) budaya kerja terhadap self learning, dan (9) kepemimpinan transformasional terhadap budaya kerja.Kata kunci: kinerja guru, kepemimpinan transformasional, budaya kerja, self learning, komitmen kerja

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to, first, explain the problem that is the basis of sin in the Corinthian church with regard to 1 Corinthians 5: 1-5; second, explain and describe the relationship between the destruction of the body of the person surrendered to the devil and the salvation of the Spirit. Text 1 Corinthians 5: 1-5 discusses the sin of adultery or fornication that occurs in the Corinthian church, and the attitude of the church that let even joy with the sin. Paul very firmly rebuked the Corinthians for their attitude, even Paul advised that people who commit sexual immorality must be destroyed by submitting their bodies to the devil so that they have or obtain the salvation of the Spirit, or in other words so that the person's Spirit is saved, his body must be surrendered to the devil. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk,pertama, Menjelaskan masalah yang menjadi dasar dari dosa dalam jemaat Korintus berkaitan dengan 1 Korintus 5:1-5; kedua, Menjelaskan dan menguraikan hubungan antara kebinasaan tubuh orang yang diserahkan kepada iblis dengan keselamatan Roh.Teks 1 Korintus 5:1-5membahastentang dosa perzinahan atau percabulan yang terjadi di dalam jemaat Korintus, dan sikap jemaat yang membiarkan bahkan bersuka cita dengan dosa tersebut. Paulus dengan sangat tegas menegur jemaat Korintus atas sikap mereka, bahkan Paulus menasehati supaya orang yang melakukan percabulan harus dibinasakan tubuhnya dengan cara diserahkan kepada iblis sehingga memiliki atau memperoleh keselamatan Roh, atau dengan kata lain supaya Roh orang itu diselamatkan maka tubuhnya harus diserahkan kepada iblis. Kata Kunci: kebinasaan tubuh, keselamatan roh, percabulan, moral.

Abstract

The population of study was the students of class X students of SMAN East Jakarta, amounting to 8 schools and the total number of students was 295. Random sampling technique of test sample was used and obtained by 40 students and the study sample as many as 60 students. In order to answer the problems, the writer used a survey and correlation methods. What is meant by the correlation method is to find the relationship between the variables X into Y and independent variables being the dependent variable. Based on the results of hypothesis testing is known that there is a positive and significant relationship between the effects of self-concept to problem solving for. With a correlation coefficient (R) of 0.707 which indicates that the correlation between the two variables was strong, and the coefficient of determination (R Square) of 0.499. This means that the variable self-concept affects students' problem-solving of 49.9%, while the remaining 50.1% is influenced by other factors.Keywords : Self-Concept, Problem-Solving

Abstract

The role of parents in the family is crucial in shaping the future of their children as well as education which in essence is a human effort to humanize the man himself. The position of teachers as educators and counselors are not only with teaching materials that are used but with his whole personality. In addition, the private teacher is a unity between personal traits as educators, teachers and counselors, and can be interpreted as an example or role model. The method used is descriptive research that is deliberately designed to analyze and interpret data and determine the relationship or influence of independent variables on the dependent variable, and then draw conclusions on the data collected and analyzed. In addition to analyzing and interpreting the data. Accordingly, Arief (1982, p. 415) says, "This descriptive method also stipulate the nature and circumstances that occur at a particular time". The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of cooperation with the Parent Teacher to increase learning activities of the students.Keywords : Cooperation of teachers with parents, learning activity.

Abstract

Abstract Internship program which is the the third practicum experienced by student teachers at education faculty of Pelita Harapan university expects the student teachers to demonstrate teaching strategies that engaging students actively in learning. The purpose of this paper was to identify instructional activities implemented by the student teachers in presentatation and participation phases of learning. It also explored teacher mentors’s perspectives toward the student teachers’ learning strategies. Qualitative case study was employed with 6 student teachers who had internship in a Christian private school in Solo as participants of this study. Methods collecting data were teaching observations of the student teachers, interviewing the teacher mentors and researcher’s field note. The data showed that the student teachers demonstrating direct instruction activity in the presentation phase and collaborative activities in the participation phase. The data analysis also showed that the teacher mentors have their own perspectives about collaborative larning activities demonstrated by the student teachers. Key words: direct instruction, collaborative learning, the teacher mentors’ perspectives Abstrak Program Internship yang merupakan program pengalaman lapangan tiga bagi mahasiswa Fakultas Pendidikan Teachers College Universitas Pelita Harapan mengekspektasikan mahasiswanya untuk mendesmonstrasikan strategi-strategi mengajar yang melibatkan siswa secara aktif dalam pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengindentifikasi kegiatan-kegiatan pembelajaran yang diimplementasikan oleh mahasiswa guru pada fase belajar presentasi dan partisipasi.Penelitian ini juga mengeksplorasi perspektif guru mentor terhadap strategi-strategi pembelajaran yang digunakan oleh mahasiswa guru tersebut.Penelitian ini menggunakan kualitatif studi kasus dengan 6 mahasiswa guru yang melakukan program internship pada salah satu sekolah Kristen di Solo sebagai partisipan pada penelitian ini.Metode pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini adalah observasi mengajar mahasiswa guru, interviu guru mentor dan catatan lapangan peneliti.Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa guru menggunakan kegiatan pengajaran langsung pada fase presentasi dan kegiatan pembelajaran kolaboratif pada fase partisipasi. Hasil analisis data juga menunjukkan bahwa guru mentor memiliki perspektif mereka sendiri tentang kegiatan pembelajaran kolaboratif yang didemonstrasikan oleh mahasiswa guru.
