Abstract

In 1994, it has been set Salamanca Statement and Framework for Action on Special Needs Education which contains about the importance of Education for all including education for children with special needs. In the development time, it was then born the idea of inclusive education is friendly public education for all children without exception. In Indonesia, 10 years ago, the Indonesian government has shown the attitude to education for children with special needs to enact legislation governing the national education system and also specifically on inclusive education in Indonesia. But along the way, there are still many schools that still not understand the concept, implementation, and strategies on the implementation of the inclusive education. Abstract

ABSTRAK Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh teknik Think-Pair-Share terhadap pencapaian siswa dalam pemahaman membaca pada mahasiswa semester dua Universitas FKIP Nommensen Pematangsiantar. Penulis menggunakan desain penelitian kuantitatif dan populasi penelitian ini adalah dari mahasiswa semester dua Universitas FKIP Nommensen Pematangsiantar yang terdiri dari 270 siswa. Penulis mengambil 2 kelas atau 60 siswa adalah sampel 30 siswa dari kelompok eksperimen (C) dan 30 siswa dari kelompok kontrol (D). Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata kelompok eksperimen lebih tinggi daripada kelompok kontrol rata-rata (65,06> 29,93). Hasil pengujian hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa T_OBS lebih tinggi dari T_table (66,15> 2,00). Itu berarti bahwa H_a diterima dan H_o ditolak. Akhirnya, disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh yang signifikan menggunakan teknik Think-Pair-Share pada pencapaian siswa dalam pemahaman membaca pada mahasiswa semester dua FKIP Nommensen Universitas Pematangsiantar. Disarankan agar para guru menerapkan teknik Think-Pair-Share dalam pengajaran membaca pada mahasiswa semester dua FKIP Universitas Nommensen Pematangsiantar.Kata kunci: Think Pair Share Technique, Prestasi, Pemahaman Bacaan ABSTRACT The aim of the research is to find out the effect of Think-Pair-Share technique on the students’ achievement in reading comprehension at the second semester students of FKIP Nommensen University Pematangsiantar. The writer uses quantitative research design and the population of this study is from the second semester students of FKIP Nommensen University Pematangsiantar that consists of 270 students. The writer takes 2 classes or 60 students are the sample 30 students from experimental group (C) and 30 students from control group (D). The research findings show that the mean of experimental group is higher than the mean of control group (65,06>29,93). The result of the hypothesis testing showed that is T_OBS higher than T_table (66,15>2,00). It means that H_a is accepted and H_o is rejected. Finally, it is concluded that there is a significant the effect of using Think-Pair-Share technique on the students’ achievement in reading comprehension at the second semester students of FKIP Nommensen University Pematangsiantar. It is suggested that the teachers apply Think-Pair-Share technique in teaching reading comprehension at the second semester students of FKIP Nommensen University Pematangsiantar.Key words : Think

Abstract

ABSTRACT The goal of this research is to know the application of multiple intelligences concept in teaching book on grade IV with the first theme is Indahnya Kebersamaan in curriculum 2013. This research is qualitative descriptive research. While the kind of this research is library research. The object of this research is teaching book on the grade IV with the first theme Indahnya Kebersamaan the first printing in 2013 with 106 pages which arranged and produced by education and culture minister. The variable in this research is multiple intelligences concept. The technique of data collecting in this research uses documentations technique. The research of data is analyzed by content or document analysis and the technique of descriptive analysis that uses presentence technique to know the number and presentence of the contents multiple intelligences concept, not only the whole of intelligences but also each intelligence.The result of this research points that: there is multiple intelligences concept based on Howard Gardner in teaching book on the grade IV with the first theme Indahnya Kebersamaan which can produce and develop each student intelligences. The findings of the data obtained from are as follows. There is a mathematical concept that contains counts of numbers and mathematical symbols as much as 66%. There is a command sentence that shows problem solving activities or counts of 18%. There are math games or other strategy games such as 7% crosswords, There are sentences that show experimental procedures to find causal relationships. There are sentences that discuss various activities. as much as 6%, rounding up and interpreting statistical data as much as 3% Keywords: Mathematical logic intelligence, Multiple Intelligences, Textbooks, 2013 Curriculum ABSTRAk Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aplikasi konsep kecerdasan logika matematika dalam buku ajar kelas IV tema 1 Indahnya Kebersamaan pada kurikulum 2013. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Sedangkan jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kepustakaan atau studi pustaka (library research). Objek penelitian ini adalah buku ajar kelas IV tema 1 Indahnya Kebersamaan cetakan pertama tahun 2013 setebal 106 halaman yang disusun dan diterbitkan oleh kementerian pendidikan dan kebudayaan. Variabel dalam penelitian ini adalah konsep kecerdasan logika matematika. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik dokumentasi. Data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan analisis isi atau dokumen (content or document analysis) dan teknik analisis deskriptif menggunakan teknik presentase untuk mengetahui jumlah dan presentase muatan konsep kecerdasan logika matematika, baik secara keseluruhan maupun masing-masing kecerdasan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: terdapat konsep kecerdasan logika matematika menurut Howard Gardner dalam buku ajar kelas IV tema 1 Indahnya Kebersamaan yang dapat menumbuhkan dan mengembangkan masing-masing potensi peserta didik. Temuan data yang diperoleh dari adalah sebagai berikut. Terdapat konsep matematika yang berisi tentang hitungan angka-angka dan simbol-simbol matematika sebanyak 66%. Terdapat kalimat perintah yang menunjukkan aktifitas pemecahan masalah atau hitungan sebanyak 18%, Terdapat permainan matematika atau permainan strategi lainnya seperti teka-teki silang sebanyak 7%, Terdapat kalimat yang menunjukkan prosedur percobaan untuk mencari hubungan sebab akibat Terdapat kalimat yang membahas bermacam-macam kegiatan memperkirakan sebanyak 6%, membulatkan, dan menafsirkan data-data statistik sebanyak 3%. Abstract

English Language Teaching (ELT) is in need of innovative and up-to-date teaching strategies which can develop students’ language competence and performance effectively. Student research is affirmed as one of effective as well as innovative teaching strategies, which develops student-centered learning. Through this strategy, the students learn how gathering information, interpreting it, and making conclusions based on the information gathered. The main purpose of applying this strategy is to make the students learn from the research, discover and also construct knowledge by themselves, as well as use the language. One important point that should be considered in implementing this strategy is the level of education in which the strategy is implemented. This article presents the way how this strategy may be utilized in the classroom.Keywords : student research, teaching strategy, student centered learning

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilakukan di KBM Kampus Diakonia Modern Jatiranggon, Jatisampurna Kota Bekasi. Jumlah populasi adalah 80 siswa. Dari jumlah populasi tersebut 60 siswa terpilih menjadi sampel penelitian melalui tehnik Purpossive Random sampling. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskripsi korelasi. Pengujian hipotesis diketahui bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara kepercayaan diri sendiri (variabel independen) dengan penyesuaian diri siswa (variabel dependen) di KBM Kampus Diakonia Modern. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,67 yang menunjukkan bahwa korelasi kedua variabel adalah kuat. Lebih lanjut, koefisien determinasi kedua variabel sebesar 0,458 atau 45,8% yang berarti variabel kepercayaan diri siswa hanya berpengaruh sebanyak 45,8% terhadap variabel dependen, dan sisanya 54,2% merupakan faktor lain yang diteliti dalam penelitian ini. Kata Kunci: Kepercayaan Diri, Penyesuaian Diri dan KBM Kampus Diakonia Modern ABSTRACT This research was conducted at KBM kampus Diakonia Modern Jaatiranggon, Jatisampurna Kota Bekasi. The population was 80 students. 60 students were taken as the sample of the study through Purposive Random Sampling Technique. The study was designed in descriptive correlation. Hyphothesis tested showed student’s self-confidence (independent variable) and self-adjustment were strongly correlational. The correlation coefficient was 0.67. Furthermore, the coefficient of determination of both variables 0.458 or 45.8% indicates that the ammount of independent variable effect is only 45.8%, and another 54.2% is the other undefined varible effect. Abstract

The use of portfolios as an assessment tool probably is unlikely common in Asian countries. Portfolios is commonly considered as a compilation of students’ work for a certain period of time. In fact, the portfolios may show the originality of and the nature of students’ learning improvement. In this paper, the writer will discuss portfolios as a method of assessment in English as Second Language or English as Foreign Language (ESL/EFL) classroom context from teacher’s perspective. This paper is designed with this format order: firstly to explain about the degree of portfolios method to assess content, skills and knowledge in the teach-ing-learning program in the ESL/EFL context, to correlate portfolios system to model of curriculum planning and policy context. Secondly, to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of portfolios method from a theoretical perspective, and analyse the validity, reliability, and fairness. Thirdly, to specify the association of portfolios method and the types of assessment and the correlation of portfolios method with assessment for learning. Fourthly, to evaluate the degree of portfolios method of assessment promoting learning of the knowledge, skills, and abilities related to my teaching experience.Keywords : Portfolios, Assessment, Curriculum, Learning, Knowledge, Skills.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aims to determine the material improvement of learning outcomes of socialscience subject with the topic Dutch colonization in Indonesia. This study is a classroomaction research (CAR). The subjects were fifth grade students totaling 28 students. Thetechnique of data analysis in this study is a qualitative description. On the pretest,students who completed 5 people with a percentage of 17.86%, which did notcomplete as many as 23 people with a percentage of 82.14% and the average score of48.11. In cycle I students who pass as many as 10 people with a percentage of 35.71%,which did not complete as many as 18 people with a percentage of 64.29% and theaverage value of 50.49. In the second cycle complete as many as 24 people with apercentage of 85.71% and students who did not complete as many as four people witha percentage of 14.29% and the average score 81.20 level in the classical completenesssecond cycle is 85.71%.Keywords: Snowball Throwing, Learning Outcomes, Social ScienceABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar IPS materipenjajahan belanda di indonesia. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas(PTK). Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas V yang berjumlah 28 siswa. Adapun teknikanalisis data dalam penelitian ini adalah deskripsi kualitatif. Abstract

This study was conducted to improve the ninth graders’ speaking skill. To attain the objective, an experiment was conducted at SMP Pangudi Luhur Jakarta. Thirty five students in the control group were taught speaking in the conventional way, while the thirty nine students in the experimental group were taught by using taboo game. The data collected using tests in both groups were analyzed by using SPSS 15.0 program. The results revealed that there was a significant effect of the implementation the taboo game to the ninth year students’ speaking skill. It was indicated by the result of the statistical calculation that the tcount (=19.395) > ttable (=1.992) with sig. level (=0.05) and d.f (=76). Through the calculation the Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. Based on the findings, it was concluded that taboo game was significantly effective to improve students’ speaking skill.Keywords : taboo game, speaking skill

Abstract

The objective of the present study is to fid out the effect of implementation of problem posing approach on the students’learning outcome in Physics. The study was conducted in SMAN I Klapanunggal Bogor at academic year 2014/2016. There were 10th grade students as the sample of the study, selected through cluster random sampling. The data were gathered by using a test. Data analysiswas done by using t -test. The results of the study have revealed that problem posing approach effectedthe students’ learning outcome in Physics. The test results indicate normality test results Lilliefors Lrithmetic = 0.1338 > 0.1401 = Ltabel usingsignificance level = 0.05, which means the normal distribution of data, as well as test results show the homogeneity using Hartley test results Frithmetic = 1.20 < 2.61 = Ftabel, which means that both the data homogeneous. Abstract

ABSTRACT Jerango (Acorus calamus L.) or also known as the sweet flag is a species in the Acoraceae which used as medicine. This article aims to reveal the relationship of secondary metabolites contained of the A. calamus with its use as a cure for cancer and anti microbial. This article is based on offline and online media literature. Offline literature used the books, whereas online media used Web, Scopus, Pubmed, and scientific journals. Acorus calamus is an aromatic plant containing the essential oils, especially asarone. The local community Indonesian has long been exploited the Acorus calamus to cure fever, malnutrition, and postpartum mothers. The essential oil of the A. calamus inhibits of microbial growth (bacteria, fungi and yeasts) and inhibits cell growth. The A. calamus is potentially developed as a cancer drug, but its toxicity needs to be further investigated.Key Words: Acorus calamus, asaron, anti cancer, anti microbial. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan hubungan metabolit sekunder yang dikandung A. calamus denga pemanfaatannya sebagai obat kanker dan anti mikroba. Acorus calamus merupakan tumbuhan aromatik yang mengandung essensial oil, khususnya asaron. Masyarakat lokal Indonesia Acorus calamus telah lama dimanfaatkan masyarakat lokal Indonesia sebagai obat demam, malnutrisi dan obat ibu pasca melahirkan. Essensial oil A. calamus menghambat pertumbuhan mikroba (bakteri, jamur dan khamir) dan menghambat pertumbuhan sel. Acorus calamus sangat potensial dikembangkan sebagai obat kanker, namun toksisitasnya perlu diteliti lebih lanjut.Kata Kunci: Acorus calamus, asaron, anti kanker, anti mikroba
