Abstract

Understanding the local heritage wisdom of Indonesia and biodiversity through the environmental education is a first step in conservation. This paper is based on a litera-ture review of scientific papers that have been published in books and scientific journals. The environmental education is an educational process that aims to create a community to have concern for the environment and matters related thereto. Formal education in schools is considered to be one of the effective ways to promote the conservation of biodiversity. Providing the material of the concept knowledge/ heritage wisdom and the concept of biodiversity in the formal curriculum in schools is expected to increase the awareness of the environment to preserve biodiversity. Biodiversity includes the diversity of habitats, species diversity, and genetic diversity. To preserve the environ-ment and the biodiversity local ethnic Indonesia has the local heritage wisdom and the knowledge taught to live in harmony with the environment and nature.Keywords : local heritage wisdom, biodiversity, environmental education, conservation

Abstract

ABSTRACTTeaching English as a Foreign Language is challenged to find strategies which develop student-centered learning and be able to cultivate students’ language competence and performance effectively. Shared reading is affirmed as one of effective strategies to develop student-centered learning. The strategy is recognized as a creative and exciting model for active learning by doing a group or student-sharing. It makes students learn how making connections, predicting, asking questions, understanding new vocabulary, and making inferences. The main purpose of applying this strategy is to make the students have knowledge of vocabulary and concepts of print and literature reading, as well as use the language through collaborative reading experience. In implementing this strategy, the level of education in which the strategy is implemented should be considered. The way how this strategy may be utilized in the classroom is presented in this article.Keywords: shared reading, teaching strategy, student centered learningABSTRAKPengajaran Bahasa Inggris sebagai Bahasa Asing ditantang untuk menemukan strategi yang mampu mengembangkan pembelajaran yang berpusat pada siswa dan mampu menumbuhkan kemampuan berbahasa dan kinerja siswa secara efektif. Membaca bersama diakui sebagai salah satu strategi yang efektif untuk mengembangkan pembelajaran yang berpusat pada siswa. Strategi ini diakui sebagai model pembelajaran aktif yang kreatif dan menarik dengan cara belajar bersama kelompok. Hal tersebut membuat siswa belajar bagaimana menghubungkan informasi, memprediksi, mengajukan pertanyaan, memahami kosa kata baru, dan membuat kesimpulan. Tujuan utama dari penerapan strategi ini adalah untuk membuat siswa memiliki pengetahuan kosa kata dan konsep tentang bacaannya, serta menggunakan bahasa melalui pengalaman membaca kolaboratif. Dalam menerapkan strategi ini, tingkat pendidikan di mana strategi ini dilaksanakan harus dipertimbangkan. Abstract

This study aims to investigate the perception of the students English Teaching Study Program (ETSP), Christian University of Indonesia. The participants were 64 students who participated in CALL course conducted in the odd semester of 2013/2014 aca-demic year. The quantitative data were collected using questionnaire and analyzed by using Microsoft Excel 2010. The qualitative data were collected using interview and an-alyzed descriptively. The findings revealed that the students responded positively to the use of BL to improve their vocabulary and grammar mostly through writing activities. The students also perceived by using BL, their computer skill and interest were devel-oped. Regarding the advantages, connectivity was indicated as a major problem fol-lowed by social isolation. As a result of the problems addressed, increasing the number of computer labs and training were suggested by the majority of students. Based on the findings, it is recommended to ETSP to continue with BL by increasing the number of computer labs and training for students.Keywords: BL, CALL, course, perception

Abstract

This study presents a research report on using simulation method to improve the activity and the students’ learning result improving students’ Learning results on PKn. The objective was to find out whether the activity and the students’ learning result improved when they are taught by using Video. It was conducted using classroom action research method. The subject of the study was the Grade IV students of SDN 187/IV Kota Jambi which is located on Jln. Adi Sucipto RT 05 Kecamatan Jambi Selatan, and the number of the students were 9 persons. The instruments used were test as quantitative data and observation, interview, and questionnaire were used as qualitative data. In analyzing the data, the mean of the students’ score for the on first cycle was 74.11 and the mean on cycle two was 78.00 and the mean of the third cycle was 84.7. Then it can be concluded that the use of simulation as a learning method can improve the students’ activity and students’ learning result. It is suggested that teachers should apply simulation method as a learning method to improve students’ activity and students’ learningresult on PKn.Keywords : PKn, students’ activity, students’ learning results, simulation method

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aims to find out what extend the effect of counseling guidance for the teacher of Christian religious education in to the character development at school. The research sample is 50 students which have been selected from population. This research applies descriptive method. Then to analyze the data in this hypothesis research uses Pearson product moment by giving questionnaires to measure variable X (the effect of counseling guidance to teacher of Christian religious education) and variable Y (the students’ development character). The research finding shows that correlation (r) 0.43 with determination test is 18.49% and to know whether significant or not the correlation of real level (α) = 0,05, so ‘t’ test is applied by the criteria of testing, if “t” which is gained more that ( > ) from “t” table pada level significant 1 – 0,05 with dk = k – 2 so the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is received while nul hypothesis (H0) is rejected. The result from the data analysis found that “t” test (>) “t” tabel = 3.27 ( > ) 1,68, so alternative hypothesis is received. From the analysis result, it can be concluded that there is significant effect of counseling guidance for the teacher of Christian religious education in to the character development at school.Key Words: Conunseling Guidance, Students’ Development Character ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat sejauhmana Pengaruh Bimbingan Konseling Guru Pendidikan Agama Kristen terhadap Perkembangan Karakter siswa di sekolah. Jumlah sampel yang diambil dari populasi sebayak 50 orang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif, sedangkan analisa data yang dilakukan dalam penelitian hipotesis adalah kolerasi product moment pearson dengan alat pengumpulan data adalah angket untuk Variabel X (Pengaruh Bimbingan Konseling Guru Pendidikan Agama Kristen) dan Variabel Y (Perkembangan Karakter siswa). Dari hasil pengujian diperoleh pengujian kolerasi (r) 0,43 dengan uji determinasi sebesar 18,49% dan untuk mengetahui signifikan tidaknya koefisien kolerasi pada taraf nyata (α) = 0,05 maka diadakan uji “t” dengan kriteria pengujian jika t hitung yang didapat dari perhitungan lebih besar ( > ) dari t tabel pada taraf signifikan 1 – 0,05 dengan dk = k – 2 maka hipotesis diterima dan dalam hal lain ditolak. Dari hasil pengujian diperoleh diperoleh t hitung ( > ) t tabel = 3,27 ( > ) 1,68, maka hipotesis diterima. Dengan demikian dapat dikemukakan berpengaruh yang berarti antara Pengaruh Bimbingan Konseling Guru Pendidikan Agama Kristen terhadap Perkembangan Karakter siswa di sekolahKata Kunci: Bimbingan Konseling dan Perkembangan Karakter siswa

Abstract

ABSTRACT Learning carried out in groups can students only rely on members in their groups. This condition causes a lack of communication ability of students. This study aims to obtain about MPKTGI effectiveness students' communication ability on acid-base titration. The research method used was quasi experiment with pretest-posttest control group design. The research subjects consisted of 31 students in experimental class and 35 students in control class. The results showed that all MPKTGI stages were carried out according to the stages of this learning model. The communication ability of students in experimental class is greater than students in control class, indicated by t-test that at the 0.05 significance level there are significant differences in students' communication ability on acid-base titration through the application of MPKTGI. In addition, the increase in communication ability of experimental class students was higher than control class and students gave a positive response to this learning model. ABSTRAk Pembelajaran yang dilakukan secara berkelompok dapat menimbulkan siswa hanya mengandalkan anggota dalam kelompoknya, sehingga tidak seluruh anggota kelompok berkontribusi dalam pembelajaran. Kondisi inilah yang menyebabkan kurangnya kemampuan berkomunikasi siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh informasi tentang efektifitas MPKTGI terhadap kemampuan berkomunikasi siswa pada topik titrasi asam-basa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi experiment dengan pretest-postest control group design. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 31 siswa kelas XI di kelas eksperimen dan 35 siswa di kelas kontrol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa seluruh tahapan MPKTGI terlaksana sesuai dengan tahapan model pembelajaran. Kemampuan berkomunikasi siswa di kelas eksperimen lebih besar daripada kemampuan siswa di kelas kontrol, ditunjukkan dengan hasil uji statistika (uji-t) bahwa pada taraf signifikansi 0,05 terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berkomunikasi siswa yang signifikan pada topik titrasi asam-basa melalui penerapan MPKTGI. Selain itu, peningkatan kemampuan berkomunikasi siswa kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol dan siswa memberikan respon positif terhadap model pembelajaran ini. Abstract

Principally, all the education institutions are obliged to implement and improve the quality assurance in order to fulfil as well as to improve education national standard. For the assurance of the education quality control, it needs to do an evaluation, accreditation and certification. In reality, there are still many schools and other education institutions which do not make a great effort to fulfill the obligation. The purpose of this study is to find out the effort and strategy which are done by schools to fulfill national education standards. This research method applied an interview and documentation. The results of this research showed that some efforts that must be done by schools and other education institution consist of the standard of the content, process, graduate outcomes, education personnel, facilities and equipment, management, funding, and education assessment. Some strategies needed to implement by schools and other national education institution in order to fulfill the education national standard are: using all the ready potent, making plan and work program needed, encourage all the schools component in order to improve their work activities, appointing quality control, improving teaching and learning tools, strengthening the schools regulations procedure, expanding work team with business industry as well as stakeholders, school committee, the control official team, and government, facilitating teachers and education administrative staff to improve their competence, evaluating each of the program conducted and documenting all the school activities held.Keywords : national education standards, effort, strategy

Abstract

This Classrooms Action Research (CAR) was conducted to determine the application of the discovery learning in the learning process as well as to find out the increment interest in the exploration of the social environment of grade XII.IPS.2 students of SMA 6 Bekasi who were also as the research subject. The activity of students in following the learning process by using Discovery Learning method has increased by 4 aspects of cooperation, liveliness, courage and the percentage / deliver results. Student learning outcomes also increased. From the results of these studies concluded that the implementation of Discovery Learning method improved social environment exploration interests Sociology in subject in Class XII IPS.2 SMAN 6 Bekasi.Keywords : Classroom Action Research, Discovery Learning Method, Sociology

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis paper discusses the concept of quality character of education for Indonesianstudents in an effort to shape one's personality through edu cation that results are seenin a person's real action in the form of good behavior, honest, responsible, respectingthe rights of others, hard work, and so on. The purpose of education is to instillcharacter good habits, so that students understand, able to feel, and willing to do good.Education characters carry the same mission with moral education or moral education.Thomas Lickona said that the legal basis of morality should be applied in education inaccordance with the principles of religious teachings in scripture, and the implicationsof the legal basis of this morality are universal. Abstract

This study aimed to describe in depth between the link of school policy and the school quality improvement. The method in this study is a qualitative method using the case study presented descriptively. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 2 Babat Tomat Kabupaten Musi Banyuasin. Based on this study it was found that the First, free school policy can help the economy / ease the burden of school costs to be incurred by the parents. Second, the policy constraints of the application for free school educa-tion at SMAN 2 Babat Toman is not very effective, so that the students' interest is not increasing, infrastructure is one of the obstacles in the implementation of free school education, how the quality of schools will be increased if it is not supported by facilities and complete infrastructure. Third, the quality of school education free SMAN 2 Babat Toman already realized well with regard to input, input turns unselected maximum, that is the students. Fourth, the implementation of free school education in Banyuasin, the quality of school SMAN 2 Babat Toman Muba Sumsel was not increased. This means that the implementation for free school education quality of school SMAN 2 Babat Toman was not increased.Keywords : free schools, school quality, case studies
