Abstract

This research aims to discuss ecological wisdom in Arjasari as a link between hadith and community practice. This qualitative research used a case study. It used hadith science theory as the formal object, and the practice of ecofeminism the material object. Using observation, interviews, and documentation for data collection, this study analyzed the data through inventory, classification, and interpretation stages. The research involved two community organizations affiliated with the Sapa Institute: Bale Istri Community and Islamic Organization in Arjasari, Bandung, Indonesia, from July 2022 to December 2022. This research is unique because it explores thematic hadiths, which serve as a basic source for integrating Islamic teachings into the practice of ecofeminism. This study explores the matan of traditions related to ecology, using a thematic approach to understand their relevance to contemporary environmental challenges comprehensively. The research shows that ecofeminism practices of community organizations from the perspective of hadith were found in Arjasari Village, Bandung. The identified hadiths emphasize responsible land use, sustainable agriculture, and preservation of natural resources, contributing to developing an ecofeminist framework in Arjasari, harmonizing Islamic values with environmental ethics. This study's unique contribution lies in exploring thematic hadith, which integrates ecofeminist practices. The deliberate linkage of religious principles with ecofeminist discourse promotes the equivalence between environmental standards and Islamic values.

Abstract

Education is a road map of the nation's development, conveying the value of society and the purpose of the nation, where both formulas are invested in curricula. Poverty is a real challenge for education development, and it can be considered a direct result of collective leadership failure in the provision of both quality education and welfare support. This study examines a social collaborative action served by the community to provide an equal education for vulnerable children, a part of a solidarity coping strategy for poverty reduction. The samples of this qualitative approach study are social workers from Yayasan Kesejahteraan Masyarakat Aceh (Yakesma/Aceh Welfare Foundation), who initiates a social collaborative action, involving society, educators, and other stakeholders in various role-play. This study proves that combined actions of social workers, educators, and society in providing equal education to children from lower-income families, beggars, and sexual violence, have given a significant impact on the children and families, giving more access the children to have proper education, formal and non-formal education, financial support through a foster parent program, and provides a role substitute of parents. This collaborative program has created a parthway to a proverty reducation in Aceh, Indonesia. A part of the institution’s main goal to support the vulnerable children in Aceh.

Abstract

A little competition created between siblings is normal throughout the life span. This shows that the closeness between the two is close enough to give rise to many problems, although in the end, sibling rivalry will disappear over time when each child reaches adulthood. Sibling rivalry starts in childhood. Every child who is not born as an only child will know about sibling rivalry. Sibling rivalry causes several changes in behaviour in a more negative direction. One of the negative attitudes produced by children is social jealousy between siblings, which results in sudden and unusual changes in behaviour. This research aims to find out and identify the factors that cause sibling rivalry in sibling relationships based on gender differences and birth age ranges. The type of research used in this research is qualitative research with a case study approach. The sample used in this study was eight children with classifications, namely, four children of the same gender and four children of the opposite gender. The data collection technique used was in-depth and unstructured interviews submitted to each parent. For data analysis techniques, Miles and Huberman analysis include data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The results of this study show that birth age is a factor that causes sibling rivalry between sibling relationships, based on the sample that has been studied.

Abstract

Gender inequality is a persistent issue experienced by women worldwide, often intertwined with their limited participation in political spheres. This study examines the political involvement of women in the parliaments of Indonesia and the United States of America (USA) through the lens of liberal feminism theory. Employing qualitative decryption approaches with a comparative study design, data collected from both the Indonesian Parliament and the USA Parliament were understood, recorded, phrased, compared and analyzed within the framework of liberal feminism theory, focusing on the "Right in Public Life and Politics". The results of the study revealed that while the Government of Indonesia has enacted legislation mandating a minimum of 30% female representation in political parties, both the Indonesian and US parliaments exhibit disproportionately low levels of female members compared to their male counterparts. A notable distinction between the two lies in the parliamentary leadership, with Indonesia being led by a woman and the USA by men. To enhance women's political participation, it is imperative for both governments to rigorously enforce regulations and sanctions against political parties. Additionally, efforts to dismantle the prevailing masculine culture in various societies are crucial in order to foster gender equality and justice, thereby realizing gender democracy.

Abstract

The problem analyzed is the implementation of child adoption without a court order. Child adoption is usually carried out by people whose marriage does not produce offspring. The process of child adoption in Indonesia has been regulated in Government Regulation No. 54/2007 on the Implementation of Child Adoption and Minister of Social Affairs Regulation No. 110/HUK/2009 on Requirements for Child Adoption. However, in practice there are still implementations of child adoption that are not in accordance with the regulations. This research aims to explain how the practice of child adoption is carried out by the people of Tadu Raya Subdistrict and how the Indonesian legal system reviews the implementation of child adoption. This research uses juridical-empirical method. The results of this study show that the implementation of child adoption in Tadu Raya Subdistrict is only through an oral agreement process between the adoptive parents and the child's biological parents with the factor of not having children in the family, as well as the economic factors of the biological family causing compassion to adopt the child, the adopted child is also positioned as a biological child even though the relationship with his biological parents is not disconnected. In the Indonesian legal system, the practice of child adoption is not in accordance with positive law and Islamic law. The conclusion of this research is that the practice of child adoption in Tadu Raya Sub-district is not in accordance with the court decision process.

Abstract

The form of gender inequality between women and men outlines the existence of female gender inequality, one of which is the phenomenon of early marriage. Therefore, the aim of this research is to determine the forms of gender inequality in women who commit early marriage. The research method uses a constructivism paradigm with a qualitative descriptive research type. The participants of this study consist of women who have entered into early marriages, while the focal point of investigation lies in discerning the various manifestations of gender injustice experienced within this demographic. Informants were purposefully selected, utilizing purposive sampling techniques to ensure comprehensive representation and depth in data collection. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis uses data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The data validity checking technique uses source triangulation and member checking. The findings of this research underscore the intricate interplay between gender injustice and entrenched cultural norms within the context of early marriage, illuminating the perpetuation of traditions and cultural practices across generations. Specifically, the study reveals pervasive forms of marginalization, subordination, stereotype reinforcement, instances of violence, and the imposition of double workloads experienced by women who engage in early marriages. Gender injustice in women from early marriage views women as having a lower status compared to men. The latest finding is that education is the single most effective weapon in fighting gender inequality and reducing the rate of early marriage.

Abstract

The decision not to have children (also known as childfree) is a Western lifestyle that is currently being debated. The concept is regarded as unnatural, contrary to human nature, and outside of the values held by society, particularly Indonesian. From an Islamic perspective, the concept of childfree opposes the shari'ah's goals (maqasid al syari’ah) namely hifzu an-nasl (protecting of offspring). This study focused on discussing about the concept of childfree based on the perspective of Manhaj Tarjih Muhammadiyah. Three basic questions discussed were 1) the history and background of the concept of childfree, 2) the perspective of the Muhammadiyah Tarjih and Tajdid Council and 3) the concept of childfree in the perspective of Manhaj Tarjih Muhammadiyah? The method used in this research is a qualitative method using library research through several primary sources such as the book "Childfree and Happy" by Victoria Tunggono, the book of "Manhaj Tarjih Muhammadiyah" written by Syamsul Anwar, Decisions of the Tarjih National Deliberation Muhammadiyah XXV in Jakarta and other secondary sources in the form of books, books, journals, or previous research. Based on research related to the concept of childfree, then analyzed using the bayani, burhani, and irfani approaches and a collection with hierarchical assumptions, namely basic values (al-qiyām al-assiyyah), general principles (al-uṣūl al-kulliyah) and practical legal provisions (al-ahkam al-far'iyyah), it can be concluded that the concept of childfree (the decision to not have children) is not justified in Islam.

Sexual harassment in the work environment does not only refer to physical acts but to unwanted verbal behavior, which makes the victim feel uncomfortable. The research used accidental sampling to determine the subject. This study used a semi-structured interview data collection method. This study is analyzed in the theory of power relations. The theory of power relations stands on two things: (1) the power spreads everywhere (dispersed) and cannot be localized, and (2) when there are structures and relationships between people, there is power. The result demonstrated in three founds. There are several sexual harassments that occurred in the work environment, the resistance of female workers, and the challenges they faced in carrying out their work.
