Abstract

This study seeks to explore the theological ideas of 'Green Islam' as the basis of the managerial system of Islamic transformative rehabilitation for students (santri) with mental disorders in Islamic boarding school (Pondok Pesantren/PP) Al Qodir. Easily, this theology implements psychological and sociological problems that undermine the human psyche through rehabilitation instruments. According to KH Masrur Ahmad, the theology of Green Islam is the basis for the contextualization of Islamic teachings that are friendly to weak people. The Islamic boarding school based model and based on local wisdom experience, integrated with the rehabilitation model which is a secular conception gave birth to a new paradigm related to the pattern of the managerial system of Islamictransformative rehabilitation in PP Al Qodir. While the process of Islamic rehabilitation there are three stages, namely self-cleaning, self-development, and self-improvement. By adopting the rehabilitation process, Green Islam is an effective therapy, as well as a rehabilitation management system that promotes transformative patterns. The success of applying theology is based on the POAC (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, and Controlling) technique that is attached to the figure of KH Masrur Ahmad as the caregiver of PP Al Qodir. G. R Terry emphasizes that managerial systems are a process of planning, organizing, mobilizing and controlling by utilizing knowledge and art in order to achieve previously set goals. So the purpose of this paper is to explore the pattern of the PP Al Qodir managerial system in rehabilitating santri who have mental disorders using the basis of theology of Green Islam. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of transformative Islamic rehabilitation is very dependent on the management of POAC developed by KH. Masrur Ahmad.

Abstract

This paper attempts to describe and analyze one of the anthologies or secondary hadith books of medieval, namely al-Targīb wa al-Tarhīb by al-Munżirī (581-656 H). This book has quite a lot of hadith, so it is natural that the quality is varied, sahih, hasan, and daif (with various forms). Al-Targīb wa al-Tarhīb can be categorized as a book of adab or morality of a Muslim that can be a provision of life in the world and the hereafter. The Hadiths  contained in the book contain quite complex themes or topics, ranging from life in the world and the hereafter. But what is certain is that the book al-Targīb wa al-Tarhīb was written not at the initiative of al-Munżirī himself, but was a request from one of his students. After praying or asking God for guidance, some time later he was willing to write the book. Al-Munżirī did not just include the quoted hadiths, but also gives an assessment and explains the words that are considered difficult to be understood. Thus, he has also conducted research on hadith.

Abstract

Sunnis and Shiites place the Hadith as a source of law, but both have different methods of examining Hadith.  The most prominent difference is how both of them accept the Prophet companions as a hadith narrator. Sunnis believe that all companions were just. But this examination was rejected by the Shiites. The second difference is the reception about the ma’sum. Sunnis reject the concept of ma'sum other than the Prophet, while Shiites believe imams of ahlu al-bait are ma’sum. The implication of these differences is the different narratives of Islamic history, which are based on the hadith. In this issue is the case of the Islam of Abu Thalibwhich is narrated from each different tradition. Therefore, this research is trying to examine the validity of their narrations and its historicity. The result of this paper is that al-Musayyab bin Hazn, the Prophet companion who narrate the hadith about the death of Abu Thalib, is judged differently by each traditions. Sunnis judged him with Siqah, while Shiites said that he only became Islam after fathu makkah and he was not at the scene when Abu Thalib died.

Abstract

This study discussed the response of the Wonokerto community to the Quran, dealing with the recitation of Surah al-Insyirah and al-Qadr in the Bayen tradition. This research, which belongs to the Living Quran area, is interesting because the use of both surahs on Bayan tradition is rare. The principal issues that will be answered in research  is how the implementation of Bayen tradition as well as transmission and transformation practice of reciting surah al-Insyirah and al-Qadr in Bayen tradition using Peter L. Berger Sociology of knowledge theory. The dialectical triad in Peter L Berger's sociology of knowledge consists of externalization, objectivity and internalization produced the following research conclusions: The transmission of reciting surah al-Insyirah and al-Qadr in the Bayen tradition originated from the process of externalizing the knowledge of the kiai (Islamic leaders) namely KH Dahlan, KH Zaenuri and Kiai Nurul Huda about the practice of the tarekat obtained through ijazahs and then passed on to the general public. People who tend to obey their teachings accept the practice and implement it together so that the practice experiences an objectivity process into an agreed tradition. Society as the perpetrators of tradition has their own internalization which is subjective about the meaning and motivation of doing the deeds, including for protection from negative things, as a non-material strength for pregnant women, as a deterrent to lust, and so forth. While the transformation of this practice occurred because of differences in externalization experienced by Kiai Dahlan and Kiai Nurul Huda who were met with different conditions in society. This practice of deformation took the form of omitting the recitation of manaqib and was only replaced by reciting surah al-Insyirah and al-Qadr which were previously surahs recited as etiquette before reciting the manakib

Abstract

When viewed from the aspect of the definition of the jilbāb (long, loose-fit outer garment worn by some Muslim women), the issue of jilbāb is a social-religious problem that is often used as a material for discussion among experts of fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) and tafsir (exegesis, interpretation), both classic and contemporary. This research focuses on the interpretation of the jilbāb in the Quran Surah al-Aḥzab verse 59 based on the view of al-Tabari. The researcher conducts a critical study of his thoughts by using the library research method and the sociological-historical approach. The findings proved that al-Tabari was a very careful person in interpreting the Quran based on the hadith (the record of the words, actions, and the silent approval of the Islamic prophet Muhammad) and the atsar (the words or actions) of the sahabah (the companions of the prophet). The jilbāb, according to him, was something that covered the head, face, and one of the eyes (the left one). Such interpretation of al-Tabari certainly cannot be separated from the aspects of socio-historical phenomena that occurred in the past where the Abbasid Caliphate’s seizure of territory took place to have implications for human freedom, especially for women. Such a condition of insecurity for a woman that made al-Ṭabari interpreted jilbāb as such in order to protect women. However, if the definition of jilbāb is contextualized today, then it is no longer relevant because the conditions are safe, and women are free to fulfill their needs. Still, a woman must maintain her honor and cover her aurat (intimate parts in Islam), except for something that can be seen which are the palm of the hands, and the face.

Abstract

Abstract

In the last decade, along with the huge social media, religious piety among national celebrities has increased dramatically. This trend is characterized by the emergence of a number of artists with traditional Islamic-Salafi fashion community. Trousers above the ankle, bushy beards, thin mustaches, women's veils and the common term of akhi and ukhti, as well as many other anomalies. Salafi da’wa is, on the one hand, a condensed way of da’wa (not much by fiqh logic). His opinions concentrated more on the actual understanding of the Quran and the Sunnah. But, on the other hand, a lot of artists who are typically middle-class, educated and rationalist suit the community. This article seeks to address the question of why the phenomenon of religious piety of artists is more in line with the trend of the Salafi communities? Phenomenological descriptive methodology is the analysis tool used. To address the above question, the author presents the paradigm of Benford and Snow da’wa. The results of this study reveal that the Salaf da’wa was able to frame its da'wah concepts in accordance with reason, Islamic, modern standards, and to respond to the demands of the Ummah in such a way that many artists followed.
