Abstract

Intercultural communication becomes a norm in the midst of society that has been globalized. There are no more regional boundaries and cultural barriers that travel between one person and another. But in reality, cultural differences often cause ripples of problems and even lead to the emergence of social conflict. This is due to the strengthening of ethnic identity that led to the emergence of ethnocentrism and stereotype in which one group feels superior to other ethnic groups.This study discusses the relationship of communication and culture that is like two sides of the coin. Culture shapes human thoughts and behavior and shapes our patterns of communication. While with communication we can convey the result of creation, desire and taste to others. This study wanted to examine matters relating to intercultural communication, especially on religious groups that led to the emergence of prejudice, causing a sense of mutual suspicion and even hostility between religious groups. In this case prejudice becomes an obstacle in communicating.Intercultural communication aims to remove barriers as a result of cultural differences. As the principle of communication that the more like the cultural background will be more effective communication. Intercultural communication wants to make us human beings, ie people who look at others from the point of their culture not from the point of our culture so that will grow mutual respect.Keywords: communication, culture, religious group------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Komunikasi antar budaya menjadi norma di tengah-tengah masyarakat yang telah mengglobal. Tidak ada lagi batas-batas regional dan hambatan budaya yang bergerak antara satu orang dan yang lain. Namun dalam kenyataannya, perbedaan budaya sering menyebabkan riak masalah dan bahkan mengarah pada munculnya konflik sosial. Hal ini disebabkan menguatnya identitas etnis yang menyebabkan munculnya etnosentrisme dan stereotipe di mana satu kelompok merasa lebih superior dari kelompok etnis lain.Studi ini membahas hubungan komunikasi dan budaya yang seperti dua sisi mata uang. Budaya membentuk pikiran dan perilaku manusia dan membentuk pola komunikasi kita. Sementara dengan komunikasi kita dapat menyampaikan hasil ciptaan, keinginan dan rasa kepada orang lain. Penelitian ini ingin meneliti hal-hal yang berkaitan dengan komunikasi antar budaya, terutama pada kelompok agama yang menyebabkan munculnya prasangka, menyebabkan rasa saling curiga dan bahkan permusuhan antar kelompok agama. Dalam hal ini prasangka menjadi kendala dalam berkomunikasi.Komunikasi antarbudaya bertujuan untuk menghilangkan hambatan sebagai akibat dari perbedaan budaya. Sebagai prinsip komunikasi yang lebih menyukai latar belakang budaya akan komunikasi yang lebih efektif. Komunikasi antarbudaya ingin menjadikan kita manusia, yaitu orang yang melihat orang lain dari sudut budaya mereka bukan dari sudut budaya kita sehingga akan tumbuh saling menghargai.Kata kunci: komunikasi, budaya, kelompok keagamaan

Abstract

In the era of digital technology the role of the media is very important in changing people's habits and becoming an important part in the lives of social communities. The existence of the media now greatly influences the culture of the community in obtaining information, but the negative side is that the media can control the community and make it subject to the rules made by the media itself. Go-food is present as a medium that makes it easy for people to meet the needs of high urban mobility. The business or trade sector is a sector that has an important role in the process of producing goods and services. The research method uses a cultural studies approach (cultural studies) in examining the Go-food phenomenon which is reflected in the socio-cultural context of the urban consumer society. Data collection techniques using the study of literature. The results showed that Go-food succeeded in mediating and changing the order of habits of users in meeting food needs through the media. There is a process by which the community begins to depend on the application and the existence of power which results in the community being subject to the rules that are made.

Abstract

This study examines the Correlation between brand image Gadis Magazine with loyalty of reading Gadis Magazine in Semarang city. Rationale informing the research this is the Expectancy Value Theory States that the person's behavior is afunction of the value the results expected of a deed. The person's behavior will result in something, the higher the expected value, the higher the desire to realize a particular behaviours. Paradigm in this research is positivistic. This research is classified in explanative type of research. The population in this research is 425 students of Senior High School 1 Semarang, in 10th grade dan have known to read Girl Magazines. This research using multistage random sampling technique, taken a sample of 136 students. The results of the calculation of the correlation Statistics Kendall's Tau B between brand image Gadis Magazine with loyalty of reading Gadis Magazine in Semarang city, retrieved the significance of 0.018 or smaller than the critical numbers i.e. 0.05. So that there is a correlation between the two variables in this research by demonstrating significant results. If viewed from the coefficients of Correlation obtained results 1.0. It can be noted that the relationship is very high.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------Penelitian ini meneliti hubungan antara Citra Merek Majalah Gadis dengan loyalitas membaca Majalah Gadis di Kota Semarang. Dasar pemikiran yang melandasi penelitian  ini  adalah  Expectancy  Value  Theory  menyatakan bahwa  perilaku seseorang merupakan fungsi nilai (value) hasil yang diharapkan dari sebuah perbuatan. Perilaku  seseorang  akan menghasilkan sesuatu,  semakin  tinggi  nilai  yang  diharapkan, semakin tinggi pula keinginan untuk mewujudkan perilaku tertentu. Paradigma dalam penelitian ini adalah positivistik. Penelitian ini digolongkan dalam jenis penelitian Eksplanatif. Jumlah Populasi dalam penelitain ini adalah 425 Siswa yang merupakan Siswi SMAN 1 Semarang, kelas 10  yang diketahui membaca  Majalah  Gadis.  Penelitian  ini mengunakan teknik multistage random sampling, diambil sampel 136 siswa. Hasil perhitungan statistik Korelasi Kendall‘s Tau B antara Citra Merek Majalah Gadis dengan loyalitas membaca Majalah Gadis di Kota Semarang, diperoleh signifikansi sebesar 0.018 atau  lebih  kecil  dari  angka  kritis  yaitu  0.05. Sehingga terdapat  korelasi  antara  kedua variabel dalam penelitian ini dengan menunjukkan hasil yang signifikan. Jika dilihat dari Koefisien Korelasi diperoleh hasil 1.0. Maka dapat diketahui bahwa hubungan sangat tinggi.

Abstract

This paper talking about phenomenon of ex-HTI as forbidden mass organization that is khilafah ideologically. Its existence in Indonesia is still developed through all media, print media and new media. Print media (bulletin) that shaded by ex-HTI is subscribed by the community. This is proven by the total production of print media (bulletin) to reach 10.000 eksemplar for distributed in Indonesia and then which is no less important is use of new media to show dakwah of ex-HTI related to khilafah still working massively. This could be proven by many posts on each social media account, that is to reach 849 posts. Both media discuss about the khilafah. The results of this research shows that all media shaded by ex-HTI changes the movement name become GP (Gerakan Pembebasan), BMI (Back To Muslim Identity), and Muslimah News Id. Technique data collection uses documentation and interview. This research concludes that dakwah activities of ex-HTI about khilafah are massive and structured. This is seen from social media account managed by ex-HTI that is  still posting the content of khilafah which are expeted to be enforced.

Abstract

The decrease of tourist visits in Bone Bolango Regency as a portrait of Covid-19 impact indicates the strategic objectives of Tourism and Creative Economy Department (Disparekraf), which is to increase the number of tourists, cannot be achieved. The purpose of this study is to identify the department’s method to increase the number of tourists in order to restore the tourism sector in the region, as well as the application of tourism communication management, specifically the settings of tourism communication channel by the department. The data was collected using interviews, observation, and documentation study to be analyzed based on the four stages in the interactive model by Miles Huberman; namely data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion. The findings showed the settings of the communication channel was expected to restore the tourism sector in Bone Bolango Regency with both internal and external audience, while WhatsApp and Zoom were used for internal audiences. Facebook, Instagram, and the website were used for external audiences. These channels were used because it was more practical and reached more external audiences. However, it did not contain attractive and complete informations regarding tourist attraction in Bone Bolango Regency.

Abstract

The emergence of stories which had Islamic nuances in the puppet, known as  Walisongo’s creation. Walisongo with the intelligence to read the situation and conditions of society at that time, adopt and remodel stories in the puppet by inserting the teachings of Islam. One of the stories in the puppet is Mahabharata.Those changes used by Walisongo as media of dakwah, so that becomes the problem in this research is how the development of Mahabharata story   after Walisongo. The research had the purposes to know the development of Mahabharata story after Walisongo use it to propagate of Islam in Java, which has been inserted the teachings of Islam.This study is a qualitative research that focuses on the study of literature (library research) about the books Mahabharata, the Javanese culture (puppet), Walisongo, and dakwah. As well as data analysis in this research using descriptive analysis, an attempt to describe and analyze the development of Mahabharata after Walisongo and the continuer use it in the context of the spread of Islam in Java.The results showed that the development of Mahabharata story after Walisongo include: first, the Pandavas symbolized as pillars of Islam, in order to facilitate the public in the first time in knowing and understanding the five pillars of Islam. Second, the story polyandry character Draupadi in Mahabharata Hindu had changed by Walisongo into  monoandri,  because  Islam  prohibits  women  married  to  more than one males (polyandry). Third, the Heroine figure in the Hindu Mahabharata was transsexual then turned into a real woman, because in Islam are not allowed to violate their nature, are men who resemble women and women who resemble men. Fourth, the priest Drona good role models and wisely changed to a negative figure, interpreted as the views lowly clergy who abide the king. Fifth, Punakawan figure which is the native Java and then interpreted as a demonstration Walisongo or da’i. Sixth, comes pedigree Hindu god be the descendants of Prophet Adam to eliminate idolatry. Seventh, the emergence of new stories bouquet of the trustees containing the teachings of Islam, such as the story Dewaruci, amulets Kalimasada, mustaka Weni and Petruk Dadi Ratu.--------------------------------------------------------------------------Munculnya kisah-kisah dalam pewayangan yang bernuansa Islam diketahui merupakan karya Walisongo. Walisongo dengan kepandaian membaca situasi dan kondisi masyarakat waktu itu, mengadopsi dan merombak cerita-cerita dalam pewayangan dengan menyisipkan ajaran-ajaran Islam di dalamnya. Salah satu cerita dalam pewayangan yaitu cerita Mahabharata. Perubahan-perubahan tersebut merupakan pemanfaatan media dakwah oleh Walisongo, sehingga yang menjadi rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimanakah pengembangan cerita Mahabharata setelah adanya Walisongo. Tujuan yang hendak dicapai dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengembangan cerita Mahabharata setelah digunakan Walisongo dalam rangka penyebaran ajaran Islam di Jawa yang telah disisipkan ajaran Islam.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif yang memfokuskan diri pada studi kepustakaan (library research) mengenai buku-buku Mahabharata, budaya Jawa (pewayangan), Walisongo, dan dakwah. Penelitian ini analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif, sebagai upaya untuk menguraikan dan menganalisis pengembangan cerita Mahabharata setelah digunakan Walisongo dan penerusnya dalam rangka penyebaran ajaran Islam di Jawa.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan cerita Mahabharata setelah adanya Walisongo meliputi: pertama, Pandawa disimbolkan sebagai rukun Islam, agar memudahkan masyarakat pada waktu dulu dalam mengetahui dan memahami lima pilar agama Islam. Kedua, cerita poliandri tokoh Drupadi dalam cerita Mahabharata Hindu dirubah Walisongo menjadi monoandri, karena Islam melarang wanita menikah dengan lebih dari satu laki-laki (poliandri). Ketiga, tokoh Srikandi yang dalam Mahabharata Hindu merupakan waria kemudian berubah menjadi perempuan sejati, karena Islam tidak memperbolehkan menyalahi kodratnya, yaitu pria yang menyerupai perempuan dan perempuan  yang  menyerupai  pria.  Keempat,  pendeta  Drona  tokoh panutan yang baik dan bijaksana dirubah menjadi tokoh negatif, dimaknai sebagai pandangan hina rohaniawan yang tunduk kepada raja. Kelima, dimunculkannya tokoh Punakawan yang merupakan asli Jawa kemudian dimaknai sebagai peraga Walisongo atau da’i. Keenam, muncullah silsilah dewa Hindu yang menjadi keturunan dari Nabi Adam untuk menghilangkan kemusyrikan. Ketujuh, munculnya cerita- cerita baru karangan para wali yang mengandung ajaran-ajaran Islam, seperti cerita Dewaruci, Jimat Kalimasada, Mustaka Weni, dan Petruk Dadi Ratu.

Abstract

Da'wah must be carried out using the right approach. Among the da'wah approaches is a political approach, called political da’wah. The practice of political da'wah has been exemplified by the Prophet Muhammad in the form of sending da'wah to rulers outside of Islamic rule. In this article, the author discusses the political da’wah of the Prophet Muhammad through a letter to four rulers, namely Heraclius, Kisra Abrawaiz, Muqauqis, and Najasyi. This study concluded that the Prophet Muhammad's political da'wah was a form of the head of state's political da'wah to the head of state. The da'wah method used is writing da'wah (da'wah bi al-qalam) through diplomacy strategies using letter media. Systematic of letters include the beginning of letters, letterhead, topic switching, contents of letters, and letterstamps. The Prophet Muhammad's letter contained an invitation to convert to Islam, good news (tabsyir), warning (tandzir), and also the verses of the Qur'an.

Abstract

This study elaborates on how lecturers perceive podcasts in the teaching process and their experience using this media in distance learning during the co-19 pandemic. By first describing the concept of podcasts as a convergence medium and their use in the education sector, the writer elaborates problems with a descriptive qualitative approach and involved five lecturers a research subjects. Research founds that the use of podcast was able to help lecturers conduct a distance teaching during the co-19 pandemic. It’s because the cost of accessing podcasts is cheap; can be accessed in locations with inadequate telecommunications infrastructure; making teaching material via podcasts are easy, inexpensive, and more personalized; podcasts can be listened to at any time, multimedia, and can be a replay. Because the nature of the podcast is not interactive and visual so to achieve the learning target lecturers usually use other supporting media that function as a discussion tool between lecturers and students. Although considered effective, podcasts have not been able to replace the effectiveness of traditional face-to-face teaching methods, in this case, podcasts can be used as a supplement.

Abstract

Perubahan media lama ke media baru diikuti dengan budaya baru masyarakat informasi. Mereka menyerbu internet dengan berbagai kompleksitasnya. Hal ini telah menguatkan budaya jurnalisme warga yang telah muncul beberapa tahun sebelumnya. Era kini bisa disebut sebagai era netizen journalism, yang harapannya dapat memberikan manfaat besar bagi masyarakat. Namun, saat ini tidak bisa dielakkan, dampak negatif internet begitu nyata, terbukti dengan banyaknya pelanggaran dan penyalahgunaannya. Ketidakpahaman atau keterbatasan pengetahuan netizen mengenai etika dan prinsip yang harus digunakan dalam bermedia sosial, maka dampak buruk terhadap penggunanya tidak bisa dihindari. Oleh sebab itu, diperlukan literasi media yang menyeluruh dan kontestual untuk menjelajah seluruh netizen agar memahami netiket di media baru. Kini netizen telah Social media bahkan harus dimanfaatkan sebagai sarana dakwah. Para ulama perilaku mencari format strategi yang jitu untuk berdakwah di media sosial.

Abstract

The presentation of the lyrics in a song is a form of communication that requires meaning, through the massive lyrics of a song composed entitled "Aisyah Wife Rasulullah" which is discussed interestingly to be discussed in the realm of the meaning of the text, the context and the discourse. Through Teun A. Van Dijk's discourse analysis, a certain condition can also be understood as an injustice process, in which to expose the injustice it is done in 3 ways, namely by text analysis, context analysis and social discourse analysis. The importance of understanding a text with this discourse analysis is able to open a broader paradigm of problems in human life, especially the concept of injustice. As in the phenomenon of the song "Aisyah wife of the Prophet Muhammad" which produces a social discourse that women are righteous physically and who always accompany their husbands. This is said to be injustice in religion which has discussed the relationship between partners, as well as `` the measure of happiness in the household is not measured by women's physicality, as the concept of shalihah according to religion. So, the focus of this research is only to expose the injustices that occur in the text and the context of the discourse about the meaning of "shalihah" in the lyrics of "Aisyah, the wife of the Prophet".Â
