Abstract

The risk of using information technology and communication (ICT) in children depends on how parents oversee and direct them. Need a relevant parenting in facing the risk of typing ICT. The purpose of this study is to find out how the family custody is right in anticipating the risk of information technology and communication. Data was obtained through observation and in-depth interviews in randomly selected parents sampling. Data analysis techniques in descriptive qualitative way with phenomenological approaches. The results showed that there were several parenting applied, namely permissive, authoritarian and democratic custody. The variations of the custody are influenced by several factors including the level of education of parents, the type of work of parents, social economic status of the family, the level of religiosity of parents, and the age of the child's age. Meanwhile the obstacles of parents in anticipating the negative impact of the use of information technology and communication include time limitations of overseeing children because both parents both work, the playing environment that average uses smart phones, parents do not have the ability to operate media information and communication so it is difficult Control what children do in the use of ICT.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is any relationship between the credibility of the preachers, the quality of program content  either  partially  or  simultaneously  to  the  satisfaction of event listeners propaganda on the radio Kartini FM Jepara. The population in this study is an event listener Serambi Taukhid radio Kartini FM Jepara regency. The population numbers are not infinite, so that in the determination of the sample using the help table of Isaac and Michael. According to the table Isaac and Michael for the number of unknown population with a 5% error level is 349, so in this study sample is rounded to 350. Based on the results of the calculation of estimated regression adjusted coefficient of determination (adjusted R2) is a means 73.1% of the variation of all independent variables (credibility dai and quality of the content of the program) can explain the dependent variable (satisfaction listeners), while the remaining 26.9% is explained by other variables that are not proposed in this study. Based on the results of the t test (t-test) for the variables shown tcount dai credibility of 5.357 while the value t table 1.645. So t hitung table (5.357 1.645) and to test the significance indicated sig 0.000 α 0:05, meaning credibility propagators have a positive relationship to the satisfaction of the event listener propaganda radio Kartini FM in Jepara regency. Variable quality of program content has tcount 21.142 while t table value 1.645. So t hitung table (21.1421.645), demonstrated the significance test sig. 0,000 α 0.05, meaning the quality of program content has a positive relationship to the satisfaction.--------------------------------------------------------------------------Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada hubungan antara kredibilitas para dai dan kualitas isi program baik sebagian atau secara bersamaan terhadap kepuasan pendengar di radio Kartini FM Jepara. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah pendengar acara Serambi  Taukhid radio Kartini FM Jepara. Penentuan  sampel menggunakan bantuan tabel Isaac dan Michael. Menurut tabel Isaac dan Michael untuk jumlah populasi yang tidak diketahui dengan tingkat kesalahan 5% adalah 349, dibulatkan menjadi 350. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan regresi taksiran Koefisien disesuaikan determinasi (adjusted R 2)  adalah  sarana  73,1%  dari  variasi  semua  variabel  independen (kredibilitas dai dan kualitas isi program) dapat menjelaskan variabel dependen (kepuasan pendengar), sedangkan sisanya 26,9% dijelaskan oleh variabel lain yang tidak diusulkan dalam belajar. Berdasarkan hasil uji t (t-test) untuk variabel ditampilkan thitung dai kredibilitas 5,357 sedangkan nilai t tabel 1,645. Jadi t hitung gt; t tabel (5,357 gt;1,645) dan untuk menguji signifikansi yang ditunjukkan sig 0,000 lt; α 00:05, berarti kredibilitas dai memiliki hubungan positif terhadap kepuasan pendengar acara radio propaganda Kartini FM di Kabupaten Jepara. variabel kualitas program konten telah tstat 21,142 sedangkan nilai t tabel 1,645. Jadi t hitung gt; t tabel (21,142 gt; 1,645), menunjukkan sig uji signifikansi. 0000 lt; α 0,05, yang berarti kualitas isi program memiliki hubungan positif terhadap kepuasan pendengar. Dari hasil perhitungan output, dihitung nilai F dari 470,976 dengan signifikan nilai 0,000 lebih kecil dari 0,05 sehingga dapat disimpulkan kredibilitas dai dan kualitas isi program bersama-sama memiliki hubungan positif dengan kepuasan pendengar radio.

Abstract

Mass media is one of the media publications to the public in the formation of the Image. Important positive images are formed to foster public trust. News in the newspaper media is still interesting to be appointed in an effort to build a positive image of educational institutions. In addition to targeting the masses of young people, higher education institutions also target parents who are still familiar with conventional media such as newspapers. The case study in this study was Dian Nuswantoro University (Udinus) and news in the Suara Merdeka newspaper. Suara Merdeka is interesting to be appointed because the local  central Java newspaper has amounts of printing and is still an alternative reading in the Central Java region where this segmentation is in line with Udinus segmentation which is domiciled in Semarang, Central Java.This study aims to analyze the theme of news that often arises about the institution, the frequency of occurrence of coverage in certain periodizations. Furthermore, this can be observed how the reporting of a media that has the power to shape the image of the institution. The method used is quantitative content analysis, which describes how the contents of the media using thematic and physical recording units are analyzed using the concept of public relations about media and the formation of the image of the institution. The result can be seen that there are 9 sections in Suara Merdeka which present Udinus related news, namely Semarang Metro rubric, Edukasia, Screen, Page 1, Business Economy, Around Young Tugu, Salatiga News, Youth Voice Expressions. Screen Rubric occupies the highest position in the news, which is 70.3%. For thetheme that is often reported, there are four types of reporting, namely news related to the world of academics (products), related to environmental responsibility (CSR), reporting related the environment and reporting relatedto the activities of communicating the activities of the institution.

Abstract

The Reunion 212 action is a socio-religious movement that has generated controversial responses in various circles of society. The problem is caused by the reporting of every online media which is not always neutral and coherent with the existing social reality. In addition, online media are often used to construct a group discourse to the public. This study aims to uncover the motives for reporting the 212 Reunion Action from the online news portal Republika. The research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach and uses critical discourse analysis by Teun A. Van Dijk. The data is taken from Republika's news coverage from November to December about the 212 Reunion Action. The findings of the research show that Republika does not publish the news of the 212 Reunion Action group as a whole. Some of the information that is not uploaded in the narrative of the news text is of propaganda value which aims to form the group's image and as an accommodation effort to reduce the negative public response and the discourse is built positive views. However, the inconsistency of the news has shown the assumption of a shift in the media as a source of information into the media as a space for the existence and contestation of a group. the recommendation is that media repositioning is needed to open a wider space so that the media can again become a source of information for the community that is free of elements or independent media.

Abstract

Photojournalism is one of the various channels to convey messages in visual form. It is a combination of images and texts that produces a single communication unit that reflects events and issues in a society. In the A8 section of Guo Ji Ri Bao, a Mandarin-language newspaper in Indonesia, dated September 25, 2020, seven photojournalism materials were discovered to contain signs and symbols related to Islam Wasathiyah value. This implied message indicated the media’s “agenda” in presenting reality or social issues, where the agenda typically corresponds to the ideology of the media itself. The media construct the frame of mind for their readers even with symbols and this study originated with the formulation of the main problem: “How is the value of Islam wasathiyah reflected in photojournalism on the Guo Ji Ri Bao newspaper viewed from the perspective of meanings and media?” An analysis of semiotics, structuralism, connotation and denotation based on Gill Branston and Roy Stafford's Meanings and Media perspective were utilized in this study. It was discovered that Guo Ji Ri Bao newspaper played a significant role in conveying the value of Islam Wasathiyah. This value is important to convey to all levels of society even through photos because it will be one of the ways to preach (da’wah) that lead us to a happy, peaceful, and harmonious life.***Foto jurnalistik merupakan salah satu saluran penyampai pesan dalam bentuk visual. Foto jurnalistik terbentuk sebagai kombinasi dari gambar dan teks yang menghasilkan satu kesatuan komunikasi yang mencerminkan makna tersendiri dan permasalahan dalam masyarakat. Pada media Guo Ji Ri Bao surat kabar berbahasa Mandarin di Indonesia, pada rubrik A8 25 September 2020, ditemukan tujuh materi foto jurnalistik yang memuat tanda dan simbol terkait nilai Islam wasathiyah. Pesan yang tersirat ini berkaitan dengan “agenda” media dalam  menyajikan realitas atau isu-isu sosial yang terjadi. Agenda sebuah media erat kaitannya dengan ideologi media itu sendiri. Sehingga, media kerap mengkonstruksi bingkai pemikiran pembacanya bahkan dengan unsur simbol dan tanda sekalipun. Studi ini hadir dengan rumusan masalah utama: “Bagaimana nilai Islam wasathiyah dalam foto jurnalistik pada surat kabar Guo Ji Ri Bao dalam perspektif meanings and media, dengan fokus menggali aspek semiotika, strukturalisme, dan makna konotasi dan denotasi berdasarkan perspektif makna dan media karya Gill Branston dan Roy Stafford. Kesimpulan pada penelitian menyatakan bahwa surat kabar Guo Ji Ri Bao memainkan peran penting dalam menyampaikan nilai-nilai Islam wasathiyah. Nilai ini penting untuk disampaikan kepada seluruh lapisan masyarakat bahkan melalui foto karena akan menjadi salah satu corong dakwah untuk mengantarkan kita pada tatanan kehidupan yang aman, damai, tenteram, dan bahagia.

Abstract

This study discusses the urgency of communication in a family relationship. The author makes use of communication-based on Javanese local wisdom as an effort to build family resilience in the era of globalization. The method used is descriptive-analytic in explaining the communication based on Javanese local wisdom in the family is realized to build family resilience in the era of globalization. The results of this study show that the local wisdom of Java; 1) "ana catur mungkur," 2) "yen ana rembug dirembug, nanging olehe ngrembug kanthi ati sing sareh," and 3) "aja tumindak grusa-grusu, nanging tumindak kanthi landesan pikiran kang wening," is a local Wisdom of Java that has philosophical, cultural, and moral values that can be used for effective communication as an effort to build family resilience. The three local wisdom of Java can be realized openness, mutual care, and mutual protection. These attitudes make communication within a family better. If the communication pattern is well-realized, the family resilience will be better according to the function and purpose of the family itself.***Tulisan ini fokus membahas tentang urgensi komunikasi dalam sebuah hubungan keluarga. Penulis menggunakan komunikasi berbasis kearifan lokal Jawa sebagai upaya membentuk ketahanan keluarga di era globalisasi. Studi ini merupakan kajian kepustakaan (library research) dengan metode deskriptif-analitik dalam menjelaskan bagaimana komunikasi berbasis kearifal lokal Jawa dalam keluarga dapat digunakan sebagai upaya membentuk ketahanan keluarga di era globalisasi. Hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa kearifan lokal berupa tutur Jawa; 1) “ana catur mungkur,” 2) “yen ana rembug dirembug, nanging olehe ngrembug kanthi ati sing sareh,” dan 3) “aja tumindak grusa-grusu, nanging tumindak kanthi landesan pikiran kang wening,” merupakan kearifan lokal Jawa yang mempunyai nilai-nilai filosofis, budaya, dan moral yang dapat digunakan untuk komunikasi yang efektif sebagai benteng ketahanan keluarga. Ketiga kearifan lokal Jawa tersebut mewujudkan sikap keterbukaan, saling memahami, dan saling menjaga. Sikap-sikap tersebut menjadikan komunikasi dalam sebuah keluarga lebih baik. Jika pola komunikasi telah terwujud dengan baik, maka ketahanan keluarga pun akan semakin baik sesuai fungsi dan tujuan keluarga itu sendiri.

Abstract

This study aims to know the media communication strategies of Alif.id and IBTimes.id as website media with a moderate Islamic background. The approach adopted in this study is a descriptive qualitative approach. The results of this study indicated that the strategies used by the media Alif.id and IBTimes.id are the strengthening of the character and the branding of each media by using a cultural approach. Thus, Alif.id and IBTimes.id are also consistent in maintaining the quality of the Islamic missionary (da'wah) content presented through articles and readings. In addition, the publication through social media becomes an important strategy because it is able to reach a broad and fast target audience. Again, the presentation of variations in content such as events, presentations, news, and inspirational videos can also increase engagement and awareness of target audience.  As an implication, this study recommends the necessity of using media in an effort to spread the values of religious moderation in the midst of a lot of counter-productive content with universal religious spirit.***Tujuan dari studi ini adalah untuk mengetahui strategi komunikasi media Alif.id dan IBTimes.id sebagai media Islam moderat. Studi ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Studi menunjukkan hasil bahwa strategi yang digunakan oleh media Alif.id dan IBTimes.id, yaitu penguatan karakter dan branding media masing-masing dengan menggunakan pendekatan secara kultural. Alif.id dan IBTimes.id konsisten dalam menjaga kualitas muatan dakwah yang disajikan melalui artikel dan bacaan. Publikasi melalui media sosial menjadi strategi yang penting karena mampu menyentuh target khalayak secara luas dan cepat. Selain itu, penyajian variasi konten seperti event, sajian, berita, video inspiratif juga mampu meningkatkan ketertarikan dan keterikatan target audience. Sebagai implikasinya, studi ini menganjurkan keharusan penggunaan media dalam upaya menyebarkan nilai-nilai moderasi beragama di tengah banyaknya konten yang kontra-produktif dengan semangat keagamaan universal.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic condition requires all activities to be limited. All activities turned to virtual activities, which of course became a new challenge for da'wah activities. This study discusses how the Majelis Tabligh Pimpinan Pusat Aisyiyah (the Tablighi Assembly of the Central Leadership of Aisyiyah), as a women's organization that has religious authority, carries out a da'wah strategy in the pandemic era in facing the existing challenges. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with an interview method that examines public relations strategies consisting of fact finding, planning, communication, and evaluation. The results of this study are the Tablighi Assembly of the Central Leadership of Aisyiyah applies several principles of da'wah strategy during the pandemic, namely (1) using a social approach by being open, (2) applying the principle of professional achievement, (3) paying attention to psychological principles in seeing the recipients (mad'u), (4) developing Human Resources (HR) with trainings such as public speaking training and media training, and always monitoring and evaluating the implementation of da'wah. The implication is that the contextualization of da'wah strategies in responding to various social challenges is a necessity, one of which is public relations-based da'wah.***Kondisi pandemi Covid-19 mengharuskan semua aktivitas dibatasi. Semua kegiatan beralih ke kegiatan virtual, yang tentunya menjadi tantangan baru bagi kegiatan dakwah. Penelitian ini membahas tentang bagaimana Majelis Tabligh Pimpinan Pusat Aisyiyah, sebagai organisasi perempuan yang memiliki otoritas keagamaan, menjalankan strategi dakwah di era pandemi dalam menghadapi tantangan yang ada. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode wawancara yang mengkaji strategi humas yang terdiri dari pencarian fakta, perencanaan, komunikasi, dan evaluasi. Hasil kajin ini adalah Majelis Tabligh Pimpinan Pusat Aisyiyah menerapkan beberapa prinsip strategi dakwah di masa pandemi, yaitu (1) menggunakan pendekatan sosial dengan bersikap terbuka, (2) menerapkan prinsip pencapaian profesional, (3) memperhatikan prinsip psikologis dalam melihat penerima dakwah (mad'u), (4) mengembangkan Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM) dengan pelatihan-pelatihan seperti pelatihan public speaking dan pelatihan media, dan selalu melakukan monitoring dan evaluasi pelaksanaan dakwah. Implikasinya, kontekstualisasi strategi dakwah dalam menjawab berbagai tantangan sosial menjadi sebuah keniscayaan, yang salah satunya adalah dakwah berbasis kehumasan.

Abstract

Social media has become a new space for users, one of whom is a veiled woman through user-generated content. For micro-celebrities, the representation of the veil is part of a Muslim's identity, which influences its development. The study aims to explore how micro-celebrity representations with veils on social media display their identities. The study used descriptive qualitative methods using analytical units in the form of photo posts, videos, and narrative captions. The study will analyze the semiotics of Charles Sanders Pierce's model. The results showed that covert micro-celebrity representations on social media used Pierce's analysis through three things, including: first, at the sign or ground level, this suggests that social media is capable of being an alternative medium of communication. Secondly, at the object level, it indicates that female micro-celebrities with veils engage in productive activities. Third, at the interpretant level, it provides an overall picture that micro-celebrity representations in veiled women have an identity background in wearing clothing as a religious background integrated with fundamental characteristics.***Media sosial telah menjadi ruang baru bagi pengguna, salah satunya perempuan  bercadar melalui konten buatan pengguna. Bagi selebriti mikro, representasi cadar merupakan bagian dari identitas seorang Muslim, yang mempengaruhi perkembangannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi bagaimana representasi selebriti mikro bercadar di media sosial dalam menampilkan identitas dirinya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan menggunakan unit analisis berupa, postingan foto, video, dan narasi caption. Penelitian ini akan menganalisis dengan semiotika model Charles Sanders Pierce. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa representasi selebriti mikro bercadar di media sosial  menggunakan analisis Pierce melalui tiga hal, yaitu: pertama, pada level tanda atau ground menunjukkan bahwa media sosial mampu menjadi media komunikasi alternatif. Kedua, pada level obyek menunjukkan bahwa selebriti mikro perempuan bercadar terlibat pada kegiatan produktif. Ketiga, pada level interpretan memberikan gambaran secara keseluruhan bahwa representasi selebriti mikro perempuan bercadar memiliki latar belakang identitas dalam mengenakan pakaian sebagai latar belakang agama diintegrasikan dengan sifat fundamental.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has changed human interactions including how they carry out religious practices and this situation has made them change everything that the activities now through media. Digital immigrants aged from 38 years old and above categorized as generation born before digital era that requires them more to adopt the technology. This paper aims at how digital immigrants in Jakarta search for religious content during pandemic Covid-19. Media dependency theory is used in this research for analysing the research results. Media dependency theory has evolved with the changing communication environment and expanded its theoretical framework to communication infrastructure theory to cover new relationships between individuals and media. The research method used is qualitative descriptive of ten informants categorized as digital immigrants and data were collected through interview. The results found that the informants depended on digital media in searching for religious contents and participated on some religious circles in some digital (social) media platforms.***Pandemi Covid-19 telah mengubah interaksi manusia termasuk bagaimana mereka menjalankan praktik keagamaan dan situasi ini telah membuat mereka mengubah segala sesuatu yang aktivitasnya sekarang melalui media. Imigran digital berusia 38 tahun ke atas dikategorikan sebagai generasi yang lahir sebelum era digital yang menuntut mereka untuk lebih mengadopsi teknologi. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana para imigran digital di Jakarta mencari konten religi di masa pandemi Covid-19. Teori ketergantungan media digunakan dalam penelitian ini untuk menganalisis hasil penelitian. Teori ketergantungan media telah berkembang dengan lingkungan komunikasi yang berubah dan memperluas kerangka teoretisnya ke teori infrastruktur komunikasi untuk mencakup hubungan baru antara individu dan media. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif terhadap sepuluh informan yang dikategorikan sebagai imigran digital dan data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara. Hasil kajian menemukan bahwa informan bergantung pada media digital dalam mencari konten keagamaan dan berpartisipasi pada beberapa kalangan keagamaan di beberapa platform media (sosial) digital.
