Abstract

Tourism in Bali is a hallmark of economic prosperity, attracting millions of tourists every year due to its natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, and preserved cultural heritage. Behind this vibrant industry are millions of labors whose livelihoods depend directly or indirectly on tourism. The research explores the financial well-being of the Millennial Generation (Generation Y) and Generation Z labors in the Bali tourism sector. This method uses a quantitative approach with crosstab analysis facilitated by SPSS Statistics 25, which was collected via questionnaires from 151 tourism labors in Bali. The main findings show that although levels of financial well-being vary between generations, most respondents said they were happy with their finances. In addition, income disparities are visible, with the higher the age of tourism labors in Bali, the higher their income. However, regarding perception, financial well-being is relative, whereas generational age does not always influence financial well-being. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of the dynamics of financial well-being among Bali tourism labors. The results of this research are expected to create strategies to increase income stability, job security, and financial literacy, which are recommended to support the tourism sector sustainably and improve the overall welfare of labors in Bali.

Abstract

The definition and description of smart tourism have mainly focused on implementing ICT in tourism activities. Smart tourism's techno-centric approach threatens to marginalize thriving smart communities, hindering the symbiotic relationship crucial for destination success. In conducting the theoretical and literature review of smart tourism, the authors found that cloud computing, the Internet of Things (IoT), and End-user devices have facilitated the process but have not changed the nature of tourism. Unsustainable tourism practices can overwhelm communities. By fostering collaboration that leverages collective intelligence, technology acceptance, and a system-thinking approach, communities can effectively address the challenges of excessive tourism. This collaborative effort lays the groundwork for a truly smart community that transcends technological advancements

Abstract

Indonesia already has standards in the development of MICE destinations which are a reference for districts/cities, namely Regulation of the Minister of Tourism Number 5 of 2017. In this regulation there are four variables which have several comprehensive indicators which are the requirements for how to create ideal MICE tourist destinations. However, before this regulation was released, many empirical studies had been carried out by world researchers which resulted in several criteria which were then included in existing policies in Indonesia. Using the semi-systematic review method, it can be underlined that in general the number of studies conducted can be grouped into four variables, namely 1) Services including accessibility, HR, and all forms of services 2) Facilities such as accommodation and convention facilities 3) Amenities of supporting facilities such as shopping centers, banking services, and tourist information 4) Attractions, which consist of interesting places, entertainment, recreation, and tourist attractions. These four things later became the fundamental basis for the development of MICE destinations in Indonesia as mandated by the Minister of Tourism Regulation No. 5 Year 2017

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the factors that influence women's empowerment in the tourism sector in Penglipuran Village, Bali. Penglipuran Village, known for its cleanliness, local wisdom, and awig-awig rules that govern the social life of its community, has great potential in empowering women so that they can be involved in tourism. Although tourism is growing rapidly, women's involvement in this sector has not been optimal, for example, the lack of product innovation and business sustainability is still an obstacle in improving their competitiveness. This is because women's empowerment is still not effectively implemented. Data collection was conducted through interviews, questionnaires, and FGDs. There were 20 institutional and stakeholder respondents in the FGD. This research uses the Bayesian Networks method to analyze the causal relationship between influential economic variables, such as social capital, education, awig-awig, gender equality, access to resources, skills, infrastructure and local policy support. The results of this study show that there are several potential influences on women's empowerment, such as gender equality, awig-awig, education, social capital, and government regulations. Determining five main nodes as target nodes with a 100% probability of success in improving women's empowerment is 9%. By utilizing the Bayesian Belief Network, this study shows that gender equality, awig-awig, education, social capital, and government regulations are important factors, along with other variables, such as infrastructure and skills, that influence women's empowerment in Penglipuran Village.

Abstract

Directly or indirectly, the development of ecotourism will affect the identity of the Gayo Highlands ecoregion as a living space. On the one hand, it can encourage or become a driving force for the preservation of natural resources and local culture, but on the other hand, it can exacerbate conflicts between stakeholders on ecoregional identities. Therefore, stakeholder orientation towards ecoregional identity for ecotourism development is important to be analyzed and mapped and interpreted in a comprehensive and in-depth manner, such as in Gayo Lues Regency, Aceh Province. This research on Stakeholder Orientation on Ecoregional Identity for Ecotourism Development in Gayo Lues Regency was conducted through an analysis of the perceptions, motivations and preferences of stakeholder groups; adopts the One Score One Criteria Scoring System method on seven aspects of identity, namely aspects of ecology and conservation, socio-cultural, socio-economic, socio-political, development, regional and ecotourism. The results of the analysis show that the orientation of stakeholders towards ecoregion identity is still low, out of 338 identified potential ecoregion identities, only 43% are recognized by stakeholder groups. In general, it can be said that stakeholder orientation is only focused on various ecoregional identity variables that are currently trending and have high economic value. This fact will not only result in the defragmentation of various living ecosystems, but also is latent in causing massive damage and extinction. Keywords: ecoregional, identity, conflicts, damage, extinction

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has wrought considerable effects on the tourism sector. Given this context, the main aim of this study is to apply the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) in a conceptual framework to elucidate the travel choices made by domestic tourists in the aftermath of the pandemic. The TPB, a well-established socio-psychological theory for forecasting human decision-making, serves as the basis for this research. By employing quantitative research methods, we have extended the TPB model to encompass tourists' awareness of inclusive amenities. This theoretical framework considers tourists' intentions to visit East Nusa Tenggara, a destination they view as comfortable and secure. The level of knowledge tourists have regarding inclusive facilities plays a pivotal role in improving the predictability of their intentions. The connection between subjective norms, attitudes, and intentions is substantially influenced by tourists' awareness of inclusive amenities. To sum up, the results of this study make a meaningful contribution to our understanding of how tourists make travel decisions in the post-pandemic period.

Abstract

This paper discusses the motivations of visitors to music festivals in Bandung. The majority of respondents gave a positive rating to 'enjoying the atmosphere of the music festival,' indicating that festivals are a means of unwinding and creating tranquillity. Motivations were split between explicit and implicit experiences, and influenced by satisfaction with the culinary aspects of the festival. In the context of return visits, positive experiences, 'interest,' and satisfaction with performance were the main factors influencing visitors' decision to return. Previous experiences at music festivals form trust and influence interest in visiting other music festivals. The analysis shows that visit motivation is influenced by experience, satisfaction with performance, and music festival atmosphere. The 'interest' factor also has a significant impact. The complex interactions between experience, performance, and atmosphere create a strong motivational foundation for visitor participation in music festivals.
