In the Indonesian context, tarekat is seen as a social movement with a broad impact. Its existence and activity need to be paid attention to by the State, society, and other political infrastructure. Many experts have carried out the discourse on tarekat with various points of view. This study focuses on the socio-political sphere of tarekat and its movements in local Indonesian politics after the Soeharto Era using a qualitative approach with interpretive data analysis involving the informants who understand the tarekat activity in Rokan Hulu in depth. The emergence of spiritual organs with various ideological variants, visions, and missions indicates the strengthening of civil supremacy in Indonesia. As part of a religious civil society organization, the Naqsyabandiyah order can grow and exert a strong influence on the dynamics of Indonesian local democracy, especially in Rokan Hulu - Riau. The existence of this movement strengthens Bruinessen's argument about the tarekat as a "storehouse of sounds," whose symbolization of motion is described by the gesture and commands of the teacher. After the New Order, there was a shift in the political orientation of this group; the nature of taqlid to master teachers was only for religious matters, while on political issues, there was a shift in direction that was more directed at the individual interests of the congregation. Even so, the Naqsyabandiyah Rokan Hulu tarekat could still maintain its existence and political power.

Interfaith marriage is one of the fundamental problems in marriage in the Catholic Church. Interfaith marriages are problematic because the Church sees interfaith marriages as obstacles to marriage. Interfaith marriages bring dangers to faith, especially to the faith of the Catholic side. In addition, there are other difficulties, especially in the family's welfare and children's education. Therefore, the Church does not want interfaith marriages to occur, making such marriages an obstacle. However, encounters with people of different religions bring great potential for interfaith marriages. This situation is unavoidable, so an understanding of interfaith marriages in the view of the Catholic Church needs to be explored so that the faithful and couples who wish to have this marriage are aware of the impacts and risks that will occur when this marriage takes place. Thus, an understanding of interfaith marriages in the light of the Bible, Church’s teachings, and based on juridical views becomes essential as a provision for those who navigate the family ark in different faiths

Women's responsibility for the family increased with the Work from Home (WFH) situation during the COVID-19 Pandemic. The entry of office and school into the family put excessive pressure on women, especially those who work. This study used the perspective of women's studies to find solutions to family problems during the COVID-19 Pandemic. This study took the setting of the urban situation in Cimahi City, West Java, Indonesia, in the early half of 2021, which is the time for the community to return to dealing with the lockdown conditions due to the emergence of the Delta Variant issue from COVID-19. This study uses a sociological analysis of 15 families through direct observation and interviews. This study found that men play a dual role between being a worker and being a nanny at home to help their wives. The presence of fathers who work at home makes them closer to their children, and they feel happy to be able to work at home while educating their children. Similarly, the family structure works well, and there is no overlap between the roles of husband and wife. The respondents felt it was a religious obligation, namely to help each other in goodness. This research can provide a solution for family resilience in the face of a social environment that changes attitudes and ways of working in the family.

Since the emergence of the global COVID-19 pandemic, faith-based philanthropic activities have become widely attractive topics to be investigated. Yet, there has been little exploration related to gender issues. This study examined faith-based women’s engagement in dealing with the COVID-19 outbreak and its impacts focusing on a local context in Sidoarjo, Indonesia. Notably, the investigation aimed to explore the extent to which Aisyiyah's philanthropy in addressing the global issue. To achieve the purpose of the study, it carried out a qualitative method incorporating three data collection techniques: semi-structured interview involving 17 informants; participant observation focused on Aisyiyah’s programs conducted to overcome the COVID-19; and a desk study gained from documents, reports, media (and social media) such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube channels. The result delineates that while some scholars divide two paradigms of community engagement which are utilitarian and social justice, Aisyiyah in Sidoarjo has played vital contributions oriented toward social justice. This approach has been done through various programs; public awareness building, embracing the COVID-19 patients, and enhancing social solidarity to reduce the outbreak effects. These findings contribute to filling the literature gap on religious-based women's philanthropy in dealing with the pandemic. However, it is critical to explore the extent to which Aisyiyah's commitment to humanitarian activities for a long-term period since no one can even predict when it will end. Another pivotal issue that needs further investigation is Aisyiyah’s way in mobilizing social capital to support its philanthropic activities.
