Abstract

Not every student gets a learning system that suits their abilities. Therefore, teachers need to know the stages of modifying the curriculum so that it is according to the abilities of students. This study aims to find the stages of modifying the Merdeka Curriculum at the elementary school level in the form of a learning program design in mathematics into fractional material that is adapted to the needs of students with learning disabilities. The research was conducted using the Research and Development research method, the development model carried out in this study used the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The subjects in this study were one fifth-grade teacher and one slow learner who was in fifth grade at SDN 195 Isola, Bandung City. The results of the research found that after the modification of the curriculum, the subject's math score increased from 29 to 100. In addition, the subject dared to answer questions when asked to repeat the elements of fractions, another impression that the subject did not feel distinguished in giving teaching material.

Abstract

This paper aims to examine the dilemma of implementing inclusive school policies. The method used is literature study. The inclusive school policy is a noble vision based on social justice. Even though many obstacles were found in its implementation, it is only fitting that stakeholders, in this case the government, take on a complex role in order to achieve optimal service in policy implementation. The government in this case takes the most important part in increasing the competence of teaching teachers in inclusive schools. Apart from considering competence, it is appropriate to consider support for teachers, both teaching and emotional support in order to optimize the implementation of inclusive education policies in schools, so that teachers can be confident and carry out broader exploration of teaching practices in inclusive classes. In the end, justice in access to education for all Indonesian people can be realized optimally.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the learning of cosmetology skills that have not been optimal for children with hearing impairments in SKh Negeri 02 Serang City. This condition is allegedly the result of inappropriate provision of skills that have not considered talent interests and teacher competence that is not qualified in cosmetology skills. The purpose of this study is to formulate a basic makeup skills program for students with hearing impairments at the senior high school level. The approach used in this research is research and development with exploratory mixed method research design and at the program trial stage researchers use experimental methods with a single subject research design (A-B-A).  The results of the pilot test of the basic makeup program that has been made show that the program improves students' abilities from an initial score of 25% to a final score of 68%.

Abstract

This research aims to create application-based learning media to help ease children with Down syndrome in learning mathematics. The research method used is a qualitative method, with research subjects of teachers, parents, and children with Down syndrome grade three SDLB. In accordance with the results of the analysis of objective conditions of the ability, inability, and needs of the subject, as well as theoretical analysis of learning mathematics, a 'Mathema' application was developed, namely an interactive learning media in which there are features to learn about the concept of numbers, number sequences, number symbols, and addition and subtraction operations, which based on conceptual validation is feasible to use and based on empirical validation has proven effective for improving the ability to learn mathematics in the subject so that the findings of the 'Mathema' media are expected a solution for teachers in helping ease learning mathematics in children with Down syndrome.

Abstract

This topical review digs into special education teachers' growing usage of Assistive Technology (AT) in Arabic-speaking countries to serve children with impairments. This study investigates AT's benefits, drawbacks, and possible applications in this educational setting by reviewing the available literature from six major academic databases, including Scopus, Web of Science, JSTOR, ERIC, Academia, and ResearchGate. The findings highlight the need for tailored and student-centered approaches to AT adoption and effective training and ongoing support for educators and students. Furthermore, the study emphasizes the potential of AT to improve academic and functional outcomes, allowing students to overcome obstacles and actively participate in their educational path. The significance of these findings for future special education research and practice is examined, laying the groundwork for further investigation of AT's influence on children with disabilities in Arabic-speaking countries. The outcomes of this review emphasize the need to implement AT in Arabic-speaking special education settings using tailored and student-centered approaches. Students with disabilities can effectively use AT solutions to enhance their learning experiences by tailoring AT solutions to specific needs. Furthermore, the study emphasizes the importance of instructor and student training and ongoing assistance. Proper training provides instructors with the skills and information they need to properly deploy AT tools, while continual support ensures that AT remains effective in the classroom.

Abstract

Learning difficulties in the aspects of reading, writing or spelling (dyslexia) are cases that are often encountered and require special programmed treatment to optimize children's abilities in accordance with their age development. The purpose of this study is to describe the program aimed at one of the second grade students at SDN 195 Isola who has dyslexia and his reading ability is at the pre-requisite stage so that the researcher formulates a program that focuses on the reading aspect. The research method used is descriptive qualitative through in-depth observation, interviews, assessment and documentation studies to explore what students need. The research results obtained are a hypothetical program formulation consisting of rationale, objectives, materials, strategies, and evaluations that have been validated so that it is feasible to be a guide in implementing learning to improve students' pre-requisite reading skills.

Abstract

In preparing graduate children with mild intelligence barriers who are ready to work, of course, it requires an initial description of the child's condition in vocational skills in the aspects of soft skills and hard skills according to the demands of the world of work that are targeted, teachers can do this through an assessment process. This research method uses the mixed method method. The purpose of this study was to determine the child's profile, including a description of the child's potential, barriers and needs. The results of this study included child profile data which were processed using quantitative data and qualitative data on 5 aspects of soft skills, 2 basic development and 7 aspects of hard skills. The results of the assessment showed that there were aspects of soft skills that still needed to be optimized in interpersonal behavior with a score of 56%, while in the hard skills aspect there were aspects of milled rice processing with a score of 55% which still needed to be optimized as well as skills, especially skills in weighing rice. The results of this assessment were used as the basis for creating a work readiness vocational program at the Garut 1001 Instant Liwet Rice Company.

Abstract

The implementation of Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) Education in Special Schools is starting to get special attention. Having a Special Program designed for Children with Special Needs is an important factor that SRH’s material must be taught in Special Schools. However, in reality this Special Program is not comprehensive in delivering SRH’s material, so that it is widely spread in several other subjects such as Sciences, Religion, Character, Sports and Citizenship Education. The research aims to see the implementation of the SRH learning model in an integrated approach with those subjects that conducted by teachers in West Java, East Java and North Sumatra. Research method uses the action research approach which focuses on four stages of research namely planning, action, observation and reflection. The subjects of the study are 41 teachers from three provinces who teach Sciences, Religion, Character, Sports, Citizenship Education and Special Program. The results of the study show that the integrated SRH model through special programs and subjects can be implemented properly. This can be shown from the number of teachers as many as 41 people who implement this integrated SRH learning model showing a presentation rate of 60.97% with good implementation results. This result calculated from total teachers spread across seven schools in West Java, East Java and North Sumatra.
