Abstract

The Nyobeng tradition is a tradition that has important values for the civilization of the Life of the Bidayuh Dayak tribe. This tradition arose because it was motivated by the many rituals that became the custom of the community to honor what their ancestors had done in ancient times. For the Bidayuh Dayak tribe, honoring the merits of the ancestors is a noble deed and must be maintained and continued for generations. The way to honor the merits of these ancestors is the Bidayuh Dayak tribe to carry out a custom known as "Nyobeng". Nyobeng is not only celebrated casually, there are several series of events that must be included in the event, namely the "Ngayau" dance and the "Sabek'n Apa'k" dance. With regard to tradition, Emmanuel Levinas revealed that tradition must be based on the sensitivity of a person who is able to build ethical relationships between one another.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the factors that cause Arabic writing errors in students' scientific work.  This method was chosen to obtain deeper data regarding the factors causing Arabic writing errors in student scientific work.   The expected solutions to the problems found are: (1) implementing vocabulary memorization every day for students; (2) using expert services to improve translations from translation machines; (3) holding training on writing Arabic scientific papers; (4) In each semester, there are nahwu and sarf courses; (5) there is a guide for the format for writing Arabic thesis; (6) before translating using a translation machine, it is better if the Indonesian grammar is arranged as well as possible; (7) there is an introduction to Arabic learning applications; and (8) using the Indonesian language full Arabic in nahwu and sarf learning.

Abstract

There have been many studies discussing street children in Makassar. However, research that looks at perspective of street children themselves, is something new, especially on the aspects of vulnerability and resilience. The objective of research is to analyze motive, vulnerability, and resilience of Makassar street children. This research is useful in providing new approaches in studying street children. By using cultural studies, research was analyzed with qualitative descriptive method with observation and interviews as data collection. This study discusses driving factors of street children, vulnerability and resilience that they face. From the discussion, it can be concluded economic factors are main factors. In addition, friends influence are also significant. Violence and bullying are often vulnerable things that afflict street children. However, they have ability to withstand pressure. By playing and tactics, street children are able to get fun and entertainment to get out of problems of life that hit them.

Abstract

One of the popular and growing cultures in Indonesia is wayang. Wayang is closely related to the lives of the Javanese people because the story of wayang has developed and grown in Java. This is one of the characteristics of wayang that is never separated from the daily lives of Javanese people. Seeing this phenomenon, the author tries to review the philosophical values that exist in wayang in relation to the lives of the Javanese people. The method used to review these philosophical values is a literature study method that utilizes several sources of previous books and articles as references. In this paper, the author finds that every symbol used in wayang performances has a very deep philosophical value and meaning for the lives of the Javanese people. The philosophical values contained in wayang include ethics, culture, mysticism, a reflection of identity, human character, religiosity, nationality, and life guidelines.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the extent to which technology has influenced changes in rural areas and the impact caused after the presence of technology in rural areas. The research method uses qualitative methods. The results showed that technology can help agriculture from the level of production, implementation, planting, marketing and analysis of the development of the farm itself. The conclusion of this research is that the development of technology will never stop along with the development of the times where in this case technology coexists with humans. In agriculture, technological advances can be seen from the use of tractors, grass removal machines, and water pumps that support rice field waters. One of the communication methods used is the use of internet services, but the existence of internet media must be used with a positive purpose or a healthy Internet.

Abstract

Nrimo ing pandum is interpreted and applied in the daily life of the Javanese people, one of which is traditional traders that include syukur, sabar, and nrimo, so they can survive in various circumstances that sufficiently change the economic conditions. The formulation of the problem in this study is how to interpret the concept of nrimo ing pandum to traditional traders. This research aims to determine how nrimo ing pandum is analyzed from the perspective of conventional traders in Legi Market, Surakarta. This research is qualitative in the form of a phenomenological study using interviews and literature studies. The study results show that the meaning of nrimo ing pandum is reflected in the attitudes of syukur, sabar, and nrimo, especially when facing unstable economic conditions. This result shows that the concept of nrimo ing pandum is still applied and rooted in the personality of the Javanese people, mainly traditional traders.

Abstract

The main problems of the regional government in Indonesia after cession of sovereignty from the Dutch are the swapraja regions. Eventhough the swapraja region has been disbanded which is implied in regulation Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 34 Tahun 1952 and the formation of seven autonomous regions in South Sulawesi, however those swapraja regions are still exist. The method used in this study is a historical method. The first step of this study is data collection technique and in History this is called heuristic. After primary and secondary sources are collected, the next step is data sorting. This process is known as source criticism. Keywords : Democracy, Swapraja Regions, and Regional Autonomy

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the moral meaning in the song lyrics of "Membasuh" by Hindia in collaboration with Rara Sekar. The method of research used in this article is interpretative qualitative research. This research used the method of analyzing symbols. In this research, the song is analyzed based on every stanza; the signifier is the song lyrics of "Membasuh", and the signified is the interpretation of meaning from the lyrics. On the basis of the findings, the writer found the meaning of morality in the song lyrics of "Membasuh" in every stanza. The writer found a lot of messages related to morality, both good and bad. It can be seen in every stanza that the songwriter tries to portray his or her thoughts on morality, whether they are good or bad. The song lyrics contain a lot of moral meaning, especially the good ones.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the morphosyntactic errors of fantasy story texts by students of class VII UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Parepare. The research method used in this research is a qualitative method with a descriptive analysis research design. This study presents data in the form of a description of the morphosyntactic construction errors found in fantasy story texts by students of class VII.1 UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Parepare. The results of this study indicate that there are more morphological errors than syntax errors. The three most common errors in morphology are (1) the use of clitic -ku, -mu, -nya, (2) the use of the prefix di- and the preposition di, and (3) the writing of standard words. In the field of syntax, the errors found included (1) errors in the use of the subject in sentences, (2) the use of incomplete sentences, and (3) the use of inappropriate extensions.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat keterkaitan Bahasa dan pembelajaran sastra melalui pendekatan linguistic fungsional sistemik. Bahasa yang digunakan dalam karya sastra yang dianalisis dan dipelajari tersebut apakah dapat dikaji dengan baik melalui pendekatan LFS. Selain itu, melalui penelitian ini pula penulis ingin mengungkap contoh-contoh karya sastra yang telah berhasil dikaji melalui pendekatan LFS. Untuk mengungkap hal tersebut, penulis menggunakan kajian Pustaka. Sumber data dari artikel ini berasal dari penelitian-penelitian sebelumnya. Sumber data dari penelitian yang relevan sebelumnya diolah, dianalisis dan diambil kesimpulannya. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan LFS ini sesuai sebab menggunakan teks, baik lisan ataupun tulisan, sebagai sumber makna. Hal ini karena pendekataan LFS berupaya mengintegrasikan satuan teks atau bahasa, fungsi bahasa, dan konteks yang terdapat dalam teks sastra tersebut. Selain itu, ternyata kajian teks sastra dengan mengamplikasikan pendekatan LFS telah banyak dilaksanakan. Hal ini memperkuat terdapatnya kedekatan antara ilmu bahasa dan karya sastra melalaui pengkajian dengan pendekatan LFS ini.
