Abstract

The problem that occurs in the education world right now is the low learning outcomes and student creativity. Based on references, the roles playing method is an effective learning method for increasing student creativity and learning outcomes. The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of the roles playing method on creativity and student learning outcomes and to find out the effectiveness of the roles playing method on learning the immune system. This research is a quasi-experimental research with nonequivalent control group design. The population are all students of grade 11 in MIA MAN 2 Semarang 2018/2019 school year. The sample is determined by purposive sampling and 2 classes have selected as the experimental class and the control class. In this study the experimental class carried out immune system learning using the roles playing method while the control class used the lecture method. The results showed that 85.56% of the experimental class students has creativity with creative to very creative categories while the control class is only 41.67% of students included in the creative and very creative categories. Student learning outcomes data show that the classical learning completeness of the experimental class is higher than the control class with a difference of 36.12%. The average value of learning outcomes and the average N-Gain score of the experimental class students also have a higher average value of the control class. The implementation of learning the roles playing method gained a score of 95.56%. Based on the description it can be concluded that the role playing method is effective on the creativity and learning outcomes of high school students and it can be concluded that the role playing method is effectively applied to learning the immune system because the results of the study already meet all the indicators that have been set.

Abstract

Scientific literacy is an ability to integrate science knowledge with relevant context and encourage people to behave scientifically. This case study describes the teaching and learning activities at Jincheng Junior High School, Tainan, Taiwan in supporting students’ scientific literacy. This study was a qualitative descriptive study that describes teaching and learning activities in supporting students’ scientific literacy as written in the narrative text. The data was collected by using observation, interview, and documentation. The data was then analyzed through five stages of qualitative data analyses by Nowell et al. (2017). The result shows that there were some key activities conducted at Jincheng Junior High involving laboratory, teaching, assessing, and learning activities. However, there were some limitations of the frequency of conducting laboratory activities and developing students’ inquiry. It can be concluded that teaching and learning activities at Jincheng Junior High School could support students’ scientific literacy.

Abstract

In the industrial revolution 4.0 era, the improvement in the quality of human resources is the concern of all parties. The integration of entrepreneurship education in science education can improve the quality of education. Innovative individuals begin with high creativity. Teacher candidates who have creativity can be involved in entrepreneurship and can increase the intention to become teacherpreneur. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between creativity with the intention of becoming a teacherpreneur on UNNES Biology teacher candidates. The quantitative research is analyzed by ex-post facto research strategy. The population in this study are UNNES Biology Education students for 2015, 2016 and 2017. The study sample consists of 190 students which are determined by proportional random sampling. The creativity of teacher candidates is measured by the scale of creativity. Whereas the intention to become a teacherpreneur is measured by the intention to become a teacherpreneur scale. The results of research data analysis using Pearson product-moment correlation technique with the help of SPSS. From the calculation results, it is known that the Sig. is obtained at 0,000 < 0.05 with a correlation value of 0.432 (included in the medium category) shows a significant positive relationship between creativity and intention to become teacherprenenur. The contribution of creativity to the intention to become teacherpreneur is 18.5%. Creativity has a positive and significant effect on the intention to become teacherprenenur. The obtained regression equation is Y = 162,759 + 2,132X

Abstract

Bioprocess in cells consists of membrane transport, protein synthesis and cell reproduction. Material cannot be understood if only looking at pictures because the material is about a complex process contained in a cell. Practicum and animation video are learning media that can be used to help students visualize the material. Guided discovery learning helps students to construct their own knowledge gained by being actively involved in the learning process of practicum and animation video. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of guided discovery learning of bioprocess material in cells on student learning outcomes. Research methods is Pre-Experimental Design using One-Group Pretest Posttest. The results showed that 100% of students 'psychomotor learning outcomes were good, students' cognitive learning outcomes> 80% of students obtained grades score 70 and N gains were in the medium category. It can be concluded that learning bioprocess material in cells using guided discovery learning is an effective way to improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Education is now faced with the demands of the 21st century who expect students to have critical thinking, able to solve problems, creative, communicate and collaborate well. The study aims to determine the enforceability of the learning process, develop cognitive skills and attitudes of health care students. The study was conducted in SMA N 1 class X Muntilan academic year 2019 / 2020. Design research was Quasi-Experiment with Non-Equivalent Control Group. The population in the study were all students of class X SMA N 1 Muntilan as much as 7 classes. The samples were determined using purposive sampling technique to obtain class X 6 and X MIPA MIPA 3. The techniques used for data collection are observation, testing, and questionnaires while the data collection instruments namely observation sheets, about the test and questionnaire sheet. Learning to use scientific issues done well, can be seen on the average results of observations for the fourth meeting of the learning that is equal to 93.3% (excellent). Cognitive learning outcomes obtained based on the value of pretest and posttest 20 multiple choice questions and obtained N-gain experiment grade of 0.56> 0.32 grade control. In the analysis of indicators of the result is that the indicator C1, C3, C4 and C6 indicate a difference in the average yield posttest values ​​between the experimental and control classes. Classical completeness experimental class> which controls 97.1%> 71.4%. Based on data from the student health care attitudes questionnaire obtained N-gain of 0.172 (low category) for the control and 0,361 class (medium category) for the experimental class.

Abstract

Internationalization Programs of the Biology study, Semarang State University (UNNES), in order to realize the vision of UNNES as an international conservation university, continues. The objective of this study is to conduct internationalization program for Biology study in the form of student mobility, Credit transfer, guest lecturer, and world-class professor at UTM. This study is an Operational Research (OR). Operational Research is a research that aims to resolve operational problems, which result is used to help solving problems using scientific methods. UNNES Biology study proposes activities in the form of student mobility, credit transfer, guest lecturer, and world-class professor for Biology Student, but then the credit transfer is not done. The results obtained from the student mobility will be the topic at a public lecture from the Biology studies program. Student mobility program is an excellent opportunity for students to have the experience and knowledge at the international level.

Abstract

Teachers are experiencing obstacles to develop a logical, systematic, analytical and critical way of thinking, while the learning curriculum principle of 2013 must be centered on the students.One model that can make students learn independently and collaborate with friends is the Jigsaw model.One of the media that can be utilized in the learning process is Kahoot media.Kahoot can provide an effective and enjoyable atmosphere that influences the seriousness of the students in learning.This research aims to determine the effectiveness of the Jigsaw type Cooperative model with Kahoot Media support for students ' interests and learning outcomes.Research using Quasi Experimental Desaign type Nonequivalent Control Group Design with sample X MIPA 4 as Control class and X MIPA 2 as experimental class.Data collection techniques Using test instruments, polls, observations and interviews.Data analysis techniques are performed quantitatively, descriptive percentage and qualitative descriptive.The results of the research are known that there is a significant difference of interest in students learning experiments and controls of 9,66%> 4.01%.The average learning outcomes of experimental and control students are 81 > 78. Experimental class classifications of 89% and control of 80%.The average N-Gain class of experimentation and control there is a significant difference of 0.51 > 0.43. The level of learning is 100% in percentage in both experimental and control classes. 81% of students gave excellent responses and 19% of the responses to both the learning with some statements reached a percentage of 100% satisfaction in the categories strongly agreed and agreed.Teacher response interviews with learning showed a positive response.The conclusion of this research is the cooperative model of the media-assisted Jigsaw type Kahoot effectively increase the interest and learning outcomes of grade X SMA Negeri 1 Sokaraja

Abstract

Basic of competence 3.11 analyzes data on environmental change, causes, and changes in environmental change for life. Basic competence 4.11. PBL model is suitable to be applied to environmental change learning material. PBL is problem-oriented. So it's good for solving lessons, challenging abilities and increasing student activity. The purpose of this study is to analyze activities, learning outcomes, attitudes, and understand the thinking of learning outcomes with student activities. This type of research is a quasi-experimental research design with non-aquivalent control groups. The population of this research is students of class X IPA 1 and 2 MA Al Asror Semarang. The independent variables contain learning material about the environment using PBL, while the variables are discussed further, learning outcomes, and student attitudes. PBL which plays a role in student activity seen in the Mann Whitney test results with Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) 0,000 <0.05 indicates Ha received, which means all activities between the experimental class and the control class. Learning outcomes improve the medium category with an n-gain of 0.5315 and achieve classical completeness. The correlation of activities with learning outcomes shows r count 0.589> r table 0.361 including moderate category with r2 34.69%, meaning 34.69% of activities contribute to learning outcomes, 65.31% is determined by other factors. PBL samples affect students seen in the results of independent sample t test sig value of 0,000 <0.05 indicates Ha is accepted, meaning that it is related to the difference between the experimental class and the control class.

Abstract

Plantae is one of biology subjects at X grade. The school condition that located in the low area causing not so many diversity of plant in the school environtment and there is no Gymnospermae. The learning method still using lecture with the help of power point and also teacher and student manual book. Students less active and do not really engage in the learning process so it influence the learning result. The aim of this study is to develop Gymnospremae Interactive Media Android Based (MIGA) with The Discovery Learning towards Plantae Subject in Senior High School. This study is a research and development (R&D) study with the phases of data collection, product design, product validation, product revision small scale testing, product revision, huge scale testing, product revision and final product. The assessment result of MIGA validation by subject expert is 91,67% (very valid) and by media expert is 100% (very valid). The media effectiveness which is seen from students learning result based on pre test and post test showed that there was an improvement of knowledge with N-gain average of 0,49 (moderate) and students classical thoroughness of 100%. Besides, MIGA is mentioned as a very practical based on the assessment of teacher’s response in the amount of 85,41% and students in the amount of 83,12%. Based on the analysis of research result, it can be concluded that the developed MIGA is valid, effective, and practical in the learning process.

Abstract

The study aims to analyze students' scientific literacy level on knowledge, competencies, and attitudes aspect, also analyzing the correlation between scientific literacy aspects of knowledge with competencies, attitudes with competencies, knowledge with attitudes. The study was conducted using a survey method with a cross-sectional design. The entire student of class XI MIPA of State High Schools in Demak regency academic year 2017/2018 were chosen as the population. The method in taking the sample was Stratified Random Sampling. The sample of the study is 304 students. Test, questionnaire, documentation, and interview were methods used in collecting the data. The result showed that students' scientific literacy level on knowledge at 37,54% on the “low” category, students' competencies at 36,75% on the “low” category, and students' attitudes at 68,11% on the “good” category. Correlation test results between scientific literacy aspects of knowledge with competencies obtained correlation coefficient at 0,534, between attitudes and competencies obtained correlation coefficient at 0,172, between attitudes with knowledge obtained correlation coefficient at -0,094. Based on the result, the level of students' scientific literacy on knowledge and competencies aspects were classified in the low category. The level of students' scientific literacy on attitudes aspect was classified in the good category. The correlation between knowledge with competencies aspect has a positive correlation in the medium category. The correlation between attitudes with competencies aspect has a positive correlation in the very weak category. But, the correlation between knowledge with attitudes aspect was not correlated.
