Abstract

Prospect of Cocoa Farming Development in Pangsan Village, Petang Sub-District of Badung Regency Cocoa plays an important role for the national economy, especially openingemployment opportunities, sources of income, and foreign exchange. The objectivesof this research are: to investigate the suitability of land for cocoa farming inPangsan Village, financial feasibility of cocoa farming in Pangsan Village, seen frominvestment criteria, and market prospect of cocoa commodity of Pangsan Villageproduction. The analysis used in this research is investment criteria method includingNPV, IRR, and Net B/C for financial feasibility analysis, while land suitability andmarket prospect are analyzed descriptively and qualitatively. The findings of thestudy showed that : land in Pangsan Village is appropriate (S2) for cocoa farmingand it has low productivity compared to cocoa productivity in Bali and Indonesia,cocoa farming in Pangsan village which is intercropped with coconut and bananatrees is financially feasible to be cultivated, with NPV of Rp 29.454.914,86, IRR of38%, and Net Benefit Cost Ratio (Net B/C) of 7,68, and the market prospect of cocoaproducts in Pangsan Village is not prospective for foodstuff, because the product ofcocoa produced is not fermented and not certified.

Abstract

Strategy of Subak Development into an Agribusiness-Oriented Institution in Badung Regency (The Case of Subak Sengempel, Bongkasa Village,Abiansemal District) Agricultural development is done through an approach of agribusiness system which constitutes the whole subsystems of farming which are interrelated, interdependent and mutually influential. The aim of this study was to formulate strategies of Subak development into an agribusiness-oriented institution. This research was conducted in Subak Sengempel, Abiansemal District Badung regency. This study used 16 respondents (14 internal respondents and two external respondents) by means of purposive sampling. Data analysis method used was descriptive, qualitative, and quantitative method in order to obtain alternative strategies by using SWOT (strength, weakness, opportunity, threat). The results showed that Sengempel Subak position was in cell one, Growth position. This growth position stated that Subak Sengempel was currently experiencing growth. Based on the SWOT (strength, weakness, opportunity, threat) analysis, six alternative strategies can be recommended. The prioritized alternative strategy was the strategy of Subak development into an agribusiness-oriented institution. This Subak development into agribusiness-oriented institution was expected to become an independent and profit-oriented organization, able to survive and compete in the era of modernization. The recommended suggestion in this research is the development of Subak into an agribusiness-oriented institution is very possible with a real program. It can promote farmers’ independence, coordination with relevant parties, and create a pilot area of agribusiness that could be a motivation and foster the spirit of farmers in developing Subak into to an agribusiness-oriented institution.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Main Activity Of Farming Of Fragrant Screw Pine (Pandanus amaryllifolius roxb) At Subak Tegenungan, Kemenuh Village, Sukawati Subdistrict of  Gianyar Regency Indonesia is a tropical country, because geographically Indonesia traversed by the equator. The geographical position of Indonesia is very supportive the community to conduct agricultural activities. As the largest second contributor to GDP in Bali. Agricultural sector is still done mostly in Subak Tegenungan. The member of Tegenungan Subak from year to year there are convert its land to plant fragrant screw pine. This study aims to find out farm income of the fragrant screw pine, the value of R / C ratio of fragrant screw pine and constraints faced by the farmers. The results showed that farm income of fragrant screw pine equal to Rp 249,656,415.44 per hectare per year. The value of R / C ratio of fragrant screw pine is 5,35 constraints faced by farmers of fragrant screw pine that are in input of urea fertilizer because urea fertililzer subsidized for paddy so that farmers of fragrant screw pine is hard to get it. Abstract

The Village Community Empowerment With Traditional Culinary Business in the Group of Boga Ganesha Buleleng The development of fast food must be balanced with the consumption of traditional foods because fast food is allegedly to be a risk factor for the emergence of various diseases. This study aimed to analyze the behavior of IbIKK group of Boga Ganesha. The choice of location of the research was determined purposively with the consideration that the Boga Ganesha is one of the groups to empower the people with the traditional culinary efforts. The method used in collecting the data in this study was interviews with questionnaire instruments. Based on the research results, the potential of the IbIKK of Boga Ganesha is a kosher, hygienic and healthy traditional food processing. Behavior that was demonstrated by the members can be classified into an excellent category (4,6). The achievement of the implementation of the empowerment program that is included in the category of successful (4,2). Empowerment of program aimed to improve the quality of human resources. In this regard, members of the group should implement their skills so that they can open up business opportunities in order to improve the economy of the family. To support this, the facilitator should use the appropriate method so that all participants can obtain information equally.

Abstract

AbstractFactors That Affect Consumer Demand Against Local Oranges in Denpasar CityThis study aims to test the accuracy of demand function model to approach the demand local oranges in Denpasar, identify the factors that affect consumer demand to local oranges in Denpasar, and estimate the elasticity of citrus nobilis demand in Denpasar. Location choosen purposely those in the kreneng market, ketapian market, sanglah market, and badung markets. The population on this research are the buyers of local oranges fruit. Samples taken as many as 50 people use purposive sampling techniques. This research using two demand function models namely linier demand function and Cobb-Douglas demand function who tested with three criteria which resulted the best model. Independent variable that affects was : the price of local oranges (x1), the price of import oranges (x2), the price of apples (x3), the price of mango (x4), family income (x5), and extended family (x6). Cobb-Douglas demand function model namely LnY = 2,912 - 1,109LnX1* - 1,461LnX2* - 1,579LnX3* +1,383LnX4* + 0,622LnX5* + 1,449LnX6*. Factors that affects are the price of local oranges, the price of other fruit (import oranges, apple, mango ), family income, andthe number of family members. Price elasticity on the demand of local oranges is elastic. Complementary goods namely import orange fruit and apples. Substitutiongoods namely mango. Income elasticity showed that local oranges is inelastic. Consumers should choose the local oranges, because more assured quality and isproduced domestically.

Abstract

Strategies to Promote Organic Solid Fertilizer Business in Simantri 103 of Serongga Kelod, Serongga Village, Gianyar Sub-District, Gianyar Regency Integrated Farming System (Simantri) is one of the leading programs of Bali Provincial Government to improve agriculture in order to support the Bali Mandara program. The purpose of this research is to investigate the internal and external environment factors found in solid organic fertilizer business at Simantri 103 of Serongga Kelod, Serongga Village, Gianyar Subdistrict, Gianyar Regency and to analyze the strategy to revive solid organic fertilizer business at Simantri 103 Serongga Kelod, Serongga Village, Sub-District of Gianyar, Gianyar Regency. Results of internal factor analysis of Simantri 103: a) strength (availability of adequate raw material and ownership of organic fertilizer processing facility is the most influential factor) b) weakness (lack of capital and lack of land of organic fertilizer processing in Simantri still become the main factor of weakness at Simantri 103). External factors: a) opportunities (development of organic fertilizer business in Simantri is an important factor) b) threat (competition with inorganic fertilizers is a threat in the development of solid organic fertilizer business). Based on the SWOT analysis, it was found that the alternative strategy that became the priority was the strategy to revive or improve the production of solid organic fertilizer. QSPM analysis results show that the strategy that has the biggest attraction score is the product development strategy. Suggestions that can be given is to fix the biggest weaknesses such as lack of capital and to pay attention to opportunities such as the trust of the financial institution.

Abstract

The Relation between Bango Soy Sauce Marketing Mix and Purchase Decisions onMillennials Generation in Denpasar City Increasing the soy sauce business every year causes intense competition by producers,including Unilever with its flagship soy sauce product Bango. In recent years, thenumber of Bango ketchup consumers in the millennium is less than that of generationX. Consumer decisions in the purchase of Kecap Bango in the millennium areinfluenced by many factors, one of which is the marketing mix elements.This researchwas conducted by 100 millennial generation respondents in Denpasar City who aimed tofind out the dominant marketing mix elements considered by the millennium generationin buying Bango soy sauce in Denpasar City and analyze the relationship between themarketing mix and purchasing decisions. This research used accidental samplingtechnique with purposive sampling method and analyzed using Rank Spearmancorrelation. The results of this study indicate that the distribution is an element of themarketing mix which is most dominantly considered by the millennial generation inbuying Bango soy sauce. Marketing mix elements that have a significant relationshipwith purchasing decisions are product and distribution.Producers are expected tocontinue to maintain and even develop product quality, diverse features and attractivedesigns so that consumers still trust the product and the marketing target of Bango soysauce is achieved. In addition, producers are expected to maintain and even expanddistribution channels so that consumers can easily get Bango soy sauce and will notmove to other brands.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Performance Village Unit Cooperative of Ulun Tanjung at Kerobokan Village, District North of Kuta (In terms of Balanced Scorecard) Balanced scorecard is used to balance the effort and attention to financial and non-financial performance,well short-term performance, long-term performance. Research objective is to determine the performance of Village Unit Cooperatives (KUD) Ulun cape with a balanced scorecard is financial perspective, customer perspective, internal business process perspective and learning and growth perspective in 2007 till 2011. The study was conducted in KUD Ulun Cape, Kerobokan village, North Kuta district. Types of data collected quantitative and qualitative data. Collection methods used interviews, observation, literature study. Based on the analysis of the financial perspective used liquidity ratios (current ratio), the solvency ratio (total assets to debt ratio) were considered unfavorable, the profitability ratio (net profit margin) were rated good. Customer perspective with the customer growth rate was still inadequate, level of customer satisfaction members and non members assessed satisfied. Internal business process perspective to manufacturing cycle efficiency savings transaction processing, loan application runs efficiently assessed. Learning and growth perspective the productivity of employees rated well, employee retention experienced twice the velocity. Based on this research, can be suggestion is channeling the funds raised at the business unit in order to be distributed with security, management professionally, while maintaining quality to customers and non-customers. Abstract

The Comparison of Shallot Farming Income by Using and without Pheromone Technology (Case Study at the Association of Asta Mandiri Farmer Groups,Songan B Village, Kintamani District, Bangli Regency)The main problem faced by farmers in shallot cultivation is the pest attack fromworms. Farmers mostly control the pest by using high doses of chemical insecticidespraying. Pheromone technology is a breakthrough technology that can be used tocontrol worm pest in shallot farming, heading to less use of insecticides. Thisresearch took place at the Association of Asta Mandiri Farmer Groups, Songan BVillage, Kintamani District, Bangli Regency which was conducted from April toMay 2016. The purpose of this study was to compare the shallot farming incomeusing pheromone technology and without pheromone technology and the obstaclesfaced by farmers in applying the technology. Data were analyzed using analysis offarm income, the R/C ratio, and t-test. The results showed that the income of shallotfarming with pheromone technology was at Rp 97,597,413.38 per hectare per season,whereas without pheromone technology at Rp 78,605,563.89 per hectare perseason.The R/C ratio of shallot farming by using pheromones technology was 2,39,whereas without the pheromone technology was 2,06. Based on t-test analysis, thereis significantly difference in income at 95% level of confidence. Obstacles faced byfarmers in applying pheromone technology, namely difficulties to obtain thepheromones in the market. It is expected that the government will provide thepheromones massively, so that farmers are able to apply the technology sustainably.

Abstract

Abstract The Role of Individual Characteristic Factor and Organization Factor Toward The Performance of Agricultural Office Province Bali The Agricultural Office Province Bali is one of government’s institution that organize the management duty of agricultural program and the other duties relate to the agriculture field in serving the needs of farmer’s input usage for increasing the agricultural production which is done. This research is aimed to confirm and know the role of respondent characteristic factor and organization factor toward the officers’s performance of Agricultural Office Province Bali. The kinds of data used were quantitative and qualitative. The methods of data analysis used were confirmatory factor analysis and qualitative descriptive. The result gotten from this research is the individual characteristic factor and organization factor have the same role or balance toward the officer’s performance of Agricultural Office Province Bali about 50%. Education degree sub-factor has the biggest role toward individual characteristic factor and the lowest role towards individual characteristic factor is gender sub-factor. Compensation sub-factor has the biggest role and discipline sub-factor has the lowest towards organization factor. Sub-factor which has the biggest role towards the officer’s performance factor of Agricultural Office Province Bali is compensation sub-factor. Sub-factors that have the second and third biggest roles are education degree sub-factor and age sub-factor. Sub-factor that has the lowest role towards the officers performance factor is sub-factor discipline.
