Abstract

Rice is the staple food of Indonesia's population. Widespread food shortages in a country will lead to economic insecurity, social and political. Assemble new type of rice varieties for high yield, biotic and abiotic stress resistance, with good quality rice is a solution to cope with food shortages. Polinela been assembling some new strains of rice germplasm by using superior character in quantity and quality. Research purposes (1) Knowing what superior character possessed by a new strain of rice Polinela assemblies, (2) Knowing where the strain that has a high yield potential. The study was conducted in Polinela April to August 2012. Research conducted with Randomize Completly Block Design (RCBD). Treatment consisted of 10 new strains of rice assemblies Polinela 4th generation (F4), repeated three times. To know the differences between the treatment then continued with Least Significant Different (LSD) on stage 5%. The variables measured were: maximum plant height, maximum number of shoots, number of productive shoots, number of grains per panicle, number of filled grains per panicle, panicle length, grain 1000 grain weight, grain yield per clump, and grain yield per hectare. Organoleptic tests carried out on the aroma and texture of rice or rice flavor. Results showed (1) All new rice strains quantitatively Polinela assemblies have a high yield potential, which is between 7.4 tonnes /ha until 10:34 tonnes /ha, (2) Strain B3, D2, D3, F2, and F3 have high yield potential between 8.4 tons / ha to 10.3 t / ha, as well as having quality taste fluffier rice with a slightly fragrant aroma (rather sweet) until fragrant (fragrant). Abstract

Fruit is a necessity for most Indonesian people. Kepok banana is a climacteric fruit that can experience browning quickly. Therefore, this study was conducted to find a safe and effective material to prevent the browning process of kepok bananas. This study aims to determine the differences in the browning index, and the activity of the enzyme dehydrogenase in kepok banana cells. This study was conducted using a 2x3 factorial design. Factor A is ascorbic acid with 2 concentration levels namely 0% (b / v) and 5% (b / v). Factor B is Aloe (Aloebarbadensis L.) leaf extract with 3 levels, namely 0%, 5%, and 10%. The quantitative parameters are browning index and total dissolved carbohydrate content. The qualitative parameter is dehydrogenase enzyme activity. Levene test and variance analysis were carried out with 5% real level. The results obtained were kepok bananas with treatments coloured brighter than control. Ascorbic acid and Aloe (Aloe barbadensis L.) affect the browning index and dissolved total carbohydrate content of the sample. A decrease in dehydrogenase enzyme activity happened in the ascorbic acid treatment. Conclusions obtained from the study are ascorbic acid with a concentration of 5% can reduce the browning index of kepok banana by 31%, ascorbic acid with a concentration of 5% can maintain total dissolved carbohydrate content kepok banana as much as 53%, and Aloe extract 10% retain total dissolved carbohydrate content sample is 20%.

Abstract

Isolates of Lactic Acid Bacteria isolates assembled into a mixture of LAB as probiotics . LAB probiotic drops introduced through the mouth with the aim of suppressing pathogens and is expected to improve the health status of rooster type of medium . Isolates in the digestive tract will undergo adaptation by temperature , acidity and pH changes in the gut . The health status of the chicken can be expressed as growth to form the body weight , and the growth of LAB . In addition , AI and ND vaccination in healthy chickens conditions will produce antibodies to both . The success of vaccination can be evaluated from the results of the formation of chicken blood serum titre of research . Analysis of descriptive data on the dynamics of the growth of LAB , the formation of antibody titer and body weight gain 24-31 day old chickens . Based on the results of this study revealed that isolates of LAB can be used simultaneously in bercoccidiostat feed . LAB isolates may develop in the digestive tract rooster medium type as probiotics. The dynamics of the growth of a population produces a mixture of isolates of LAB isolates (mixture of B1, B3, B4, B5 as probiotics) in the highest reaches of the ilium and jejunum 14.00 x 10-6 13.5 x 10-6 CFU/ml. Test isolates viability of probiotic candidates in all isolates produced distilled water medium can live up to 72 hours of incubation . Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the effect of taurine supplementation on the totalcount of leucocyte cells and erythrocyte cells of mice that have been induced to benzo (?)pyrene in vivo. The parameters of this experiment were the total count of leucocyte cells anderythrocyte cells of mice (Mus musculus L.). This experiment was conducted in a completerandomized design by using six treatments, each in five replications. The mice were dividedinto six groups. Group I used as control were not given any treatment. Group II were given0,2 mL of oleum olevarum (olive oil) orally to the end of the experiment. Group III wereinduced to benzo (?) pyrene without being given any taurine. Group IV were given 7,8mg/bw of taurine before being induced to benzo (?) pyrene. Group V were given 7,8 mg/bwof taurine after being induced to benzo (?) pyrene. Group VI were given 15,6 mg/bw oftaurine after being induced to benzo (?) pyrene. Mice of group III, V, and VI were injectedwith 0,5 mL of benzo (?) pyrene solution every day for 10 days on their subcutant tissue forthe purpose of a nodule being formed in this area. It was then continued by giving taurineorally for 15 days. In the final treatment, mice blood was taken to count the leucocyte cellsand erythrocyte cells. The data were analyzed using ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) thencontinued by calculating least significant difference at 5 per cent level of significance. Theresults indicated that taurine had the ability to reduce leucocyte cells into its normalquantity, and was able to increase the number of erythrocyte cells of mice suffered fromleukaemia back to normal.Key words: benzo (?) pyrene, leukaemia, leucocyte, mice , taurine

This study used 200 broiler chickens were distributed into five treatments with 10 replications and each group of 4 broiler. The treatment groups were: control / blank, broilers with the addition of anti-oxidants synthesis (vitastress), the chickens are kept by using tocopherol, extracts of mangosteen rind 60 mg, and mangosteen peel extract 120 mg. Broilers were reared in the stable open as tropical enclosure models show weight gain diverse. The highest increase in keoompok mangosteen rind flour administration of 120 mg (equivalent to 2 capsules administration) followed by administration of vitamin E, an antioxidant synthesis and control. Mangosteen fruit extract 120 mg, equivalent to 2 capsules administration can increase body weight gain. While the mangosteen fruit extract 60 (1 capsule) gives the equivalent effect of vitamin E and antioksidang synthesis on the market. This implies the work of the mangosteen fruit extract capable meningkan body weight gain in giving 120 mg (2 capsules per cow per day). While the feed conversion rate (feed Conversion ratio) or defined as the ratio of the ability to convert feed into the ration in the treatment group in order from the smallest is the group with the administration of 2 capsules of 1.04 mangosteen mangosteen deilanjutkan 1 capsule of 1.3; antioxidants and vitamin E sinetesis of 1.4 and 1.7 control. Mangosteen 2 capsules a day is able to provide the ability to convert 1.04 kg of feed into 1 kg of meat. It gives an overview of the advantages for the farmer to use mangosteen peel extract as an antioxidant. Keywords: Mangosteen, Performa, antioxidant, broiler
