Abstract

Broiler is been developed anymal as a source of animal protein needs. Various feed additif given to broiler to spur additional growth as well as feed and medicine. One of the diseases that are immunosuppressed chickens is coccidiosis. Chickens infected with coccidiosis will show symptoms of diarrhea, emaciation and intestinal damage simultaneously, thus reducing the rate of growth in chickens. With the ability of anti-diarrhea and anti-inflammatory turmeric is expected to be an alternative for the treatment and prevention of coccidiosis in particular and general gastrointestinal disease in chickens. The purpose of this study was to determine the activity of ginger are extracted with solvent water to the broiler performance infected by Eimeria maxima. The results showed that administration of turmeric extraction with ethanol can increase body weight gain, feed efficiency and lower feed conversion value is better than giving solvent extraction of turmeric with water. turmeric extraction with ethanol was not effect to blood diferentiation but decrease level of total cholesterol, trigliserida, HDL, dan LDL on serum Keywords: performance, broiler, Eimeria maxima, turmeric

This study used 200 broiler chickens were distributed into five treatments with 10 replications and each group of 4 broiler. The treatment groups were: control / blank, broilers with the addition of anti-oxidants synthesis (vitastress), the chickens are kept by using tocopherol, extracts of mangosteen rind 60 mg, and mangosteen peel extract 120 mg. Broilers were reared in the stable open as tropical enclosure models show weight gain diverse. The highest increase in keoompok mangosteen rind flour administration of 120 mg (equivalent to 2 capsules administration) followed by administration of vitamin E, an antioxidant synthesis and control. Mangosteen fruit extract 120 mg, equivalent to 2 capsules administration can increase body weight gain. While the mangosteen fruit extract 60 (1 capsule) gives the equivalent effect of vitamin E and antioksidang synthesis on the market. This implies the work of the mangosteen fruit extract capable meningkan body weight gain in giving 120 mg (2 capsules per cow per day). While the feed conversion rate (feed Conversion ratio) or defined as the ratio of the ability to convert feed into the ration in the treatment group in order from the smallest is the group with the administration of 2 capsules of 1.04 mangosteen mangosteen deilanjutkan 1 capsule of 1.3; antioxidants and vitamin E sinetesis of 1.4 and 1.7 control. Abstract

Goats are livestock that are widely bred by breeders in Indonesia. There are many advantages of raising goats, such as the hair, the milk or sold directly for food needs. In cultivating goats, the average goat owners have less knowledge in terms of diseases that attack their domestic goats. Expert systems began to be used to help an expert or expert in diagnosing disease in goats based on existing symptoms. Objectives and benefits of Diagnosis goat disease, among others, is to facilitate and accelerate knowing the type of disease that attacks the goat. To determine the diagnosis of goat disease, researchers create expert system by applying forward chaining method. Diagnose goat disease using Forward Chaining method. In this study the types of diseases that can be diagnosed as much as 11 diseases. The conclusion of the research that has been done based on the problems that have been resolved through the manufacture of this expert system is expert system to determine goat disease designed with rule base and forward chaining method.

Abstract

Abstract: to examine how different energy levels in the same protein affect feed intake, body weight gain, and feed conversion. The study used treatments in the form of differences in metabolizable energy levels at the same protein level, namely 19%. The feed treatments were as follows: T1 = 2800 kcal/kg, T2 = 2900 kcal/kg, T3 = 3000 kcal/kg, and T4 = 3100 kcal/kg. A total of 100 one-day-old unsexed broiler chickens were divided into four treatments, each of which was repeated five times. The feed treatment was administered from 1 to 35 days of age. The experimental design used a completely randomized design, followed by Duncan's test. The research parameters were feed intake, weight gain, and feed conversion. The results showed that increasing metabolic energy reduced feed intake and feed conversion (p<0.05) and increased weight gain (p<0.05). Feed intake was lowest at an energy level of 2900 kcal/kg, while weight gain was highest at an energy level of 3100 kcal/kg. Broiler performance was optimal at a protein level of 19% and a metabolizable energy level above 2900 kcal/kg.

Abstract

Feed availability and quality are critical factors affecting the productivity of small ruminant livestock. In smallholder farming systems, feed management remains a major constraint due to limited availability of quality forage, seasonal fluctuations in feed supply, and low adoption of feed processing technologies. Similar challenges were identified in the Berkah Mandiri Farm farmer group in Pejambon Village, Negeri Katon District, Pesawaran Regency, where traditional goat husbandry and simple feed management practices are still commonly applied. This community service program aimed to enhance farmers’ knowledge and skills through the introduction and application of Urea Molasses Block (UMB) as a feed supplement for local goats. The activities were conducted through extension sessions, hands-on training on UMB production, and evaluation using questionnaires. The results showed that farmers were able to independently produce UMB and understand its benefits as a supplementary source of nutrients. Overall, participants’ level of understanding regarding feed technology and UMB reached 75%, categorized as “good understanding”. The application of UMB technology is expected to improve feed management, enhance the productivity of local goats, and support the sustainable development of smallholder goat farming.
