Abstract

Banana is one of the most important global agriculture commodities. Asia accounts for the production of bananas amounted to 56.4% of total banana in the world and Indonesia is one of the banana-producing countries in Asia. The demand for bananas increased need is anticipated with good cultivation techniques to meet domestic and international market demand. Plant regeneration in vitro tissue culture techniques or can be used to produce propagules true-to-type in large quantities in a relatively short period and free from disease. This research aims to study the influence of various concentrations of BA (0, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0 mg/l) against the growth and reproduction of Cavendish banana propagules in vitro. Time appears buds, propagules length and the number of propagules per explant, and the number of primary roots of plants per explant observed after eight weeks of culture. The experiment results show that after explant grown for eight weeks on the media's treatment shows the different response. The increased concentration of BA can increase the number of shoots. The increased concentration of BA from 0.5 mg/l be 1-3 mg/l increased the number of propagules, but the number of propagules will decrease in the concentration of BA more 3.5 or 4 mg/l. In addition to BA concentration 0.5, 1 and 1.5 mg/l MS media into producing shoot buds appear faster time high, highest propagules and root amount more on banana propagules Cavendish, but the number of shoots is fewer. The best of BA concentrations to induce propagules plant bananas Cavendish is 3.0 mg/l.

Abstract

Technology transfer about durian grafting in Harapan Baru I farmers Group, Batu Putuk village, Bandar Lampung city has been done . This activity aims to improve ( 1 ) knowledge of members of Harapan Baru I Farmers Group about characteristics durian superior. ( 2 ) knowledge of members of Harapan Baru I Farmers Group in durian grafting techniques . ( 3 ) skills of members of Harapan Baru I Farmers Group in durian grafting techniques. The method used is counseling, demonstration and practice . Evaluation used is initial evaluation , final evaluation , and evaluation success durian grafting. Results of activity showed that ( 1 ) knowledge of members of Harapan Baru I Farmers Group in characteristics durian superior reached 87.06 % . (2) knowledge of members of Harapan Baru I Farmers Group in durian grafting technique reached 87.06 % . (3) Skills of members of Harapan Baru I Farmers Group in durian grafting techniques increased from 10 % to 60 % . Key words : durian, Batu Putuk, grafting

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of the micro-climate(temperature, humidity, and light intensity) and the production of sweet corn on a sigle row,doble row, twin row, and Twin seed planting system. This study was conducted in anexperimental garden of Politeknik Negeri Lampung, Hajimena South Lampung, in July-September, 2015. This study is based on randomized block design with one factor croppingsystem consists of 4 treatment ie : Sigle Row (SR) (20cm x 75cm), Doble Row ( DR ) (20cm x20cm x 80 cm), Twin Row (TR) (20cm x 10cm x 80 cm) , and Twin Seed (TS) with plantSpacing (40cm x 75cm 2 seed in one planting hole). Parameter observations of this studyconsisted of (1) micro-climate (temperature (oC), relative humidity (RH %) and Interceptionof Light (%) ) and (2)production (corn length (cm) , corn diameter (m ) and Corn weights(grams). The data were analyzed using the F test at 1 % and 5 % level and than followed bytest BNT. The conclusion of this study were (1) The characteristics of the microclimate : a)There is a noticeable difference in the temperature of the top of the current crop of 4 mst andat 9 mst there is a significant difference in the temperature of the bottom , where SR has adifferent temperature involves the other b) All systems planting has a relative humidity (%)were not significantly different , and c ) there is a difference light interception ( % ) duringthe day when 4 mst , where the twins seed has a light interception is different from othertreatments and there is a difference light interception during 9 mst where sigle row has adifferent light interception to other treatments. (2) The production of sweet corn on thetreatment SR, DR, TR and TS were not significantly different and has a weight of corn (SR =354.8 grams, DR = 316.5 grams, 328.5 grams TR and TS = 325.4 grams) same withdescription bonanza varieties (270-300 grams).Keywords : Cropping Systems , Micro Climate , Production

Abstract

Aklimatisasi merupakan tahap yang kritis bagi plantlet. Pada lingkungan yang baru plantlet dapat mengalami cekaman lingkungan. Kondisi lingkungan seperti media yang tidak mendukung pada tahap aklimatisasi dapat menyebabkan kematian plantlet.  Penelitian ini bertujuan:  1)  Mendapatkan kombinasi  media yang paling baik bagi keberhasilan aklimatisasi plantlet anggrek Phalaenopsis; 2)Mengetahui apakah terdapat interaksi antara media bagian bawah dengan atas pot; 3) Mendapatkan kombinasi media yang paling baik bagi pertumbuhan bibit anggrek anggrek Phalaenopsis pada tahap pembesaran, dan 4) Melihat apakah media sabut kelapa dapat digunakan untuk aklimatisasi dan pembesaran anggrek Phalaenopsis.  Penelitian dilaksanakan di rumah jaring Politeknik Negeri Lampung dari bulan Maret hingga Agustus 2018.  Plantlet diaklimatisasikan 4 minggu.  Percobaan faktorial dilaksanakan dalam rancangan acak kelompok. Faktor A :  macam media bagian bawah (bata/arang).  Faktor B :  macam media bagian atas (moss sphagnum/pakis/sabut kelapa).  Enam kombinasi perlakuan dicobakan (masing-masing dengan 10 ulangan), yaitu:   P1 (bata+moss); P2 (bata+pakis); P3 (bata+sabut kelapa); P4 (arang+moss); P5 (arang+pakis); dan P6 (arang+sabut kelapa).  Peubah yang diamati: 1)  persen keberhasilan plantlet menjadi bibit, 2) tinggi bibit, 3) panjang daun, 4) lebar daun, dan 5) jumlah daun.   Data yang diperoleh dilakukan analisis ragam dan dilanjutkan dengan uji BNJ 5%.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: 1) Media moss atau pakis dikombinasikan dengan bata maupun arang memberikan persen keberhasilan aklimatisasi plantlet anggrek Phalaenopsis yang paling baik (100%); 2) Tidak terdapat interaksi antara media bagian atas dengan bagian bawah; 3) Kombinasi media yang paling baik bagi pertumbuhan bibit anggrek Phalaenopsis pada tahap pembesaran adalah moss baik dikombinasikan dengan bata ataupun arang, kemudian diikuti oleh pakis (dikombinasikan dengan bata ataupun arang); dan 4) Media sabut kelapa dapat digunakan untuk aklimatisasi dan pembesaran bibit anggrek Phalaenopsis bila  dilakukan penyiraman yang lebih intensif.

Abstract

Permasalahan yang dihadapi Pondok Pesantren Miftahul Huda 606 adalah biaya nutrisi hidroponik tinggi, kurang terampil mengelola nutrisi dan belum berhasil melakukan pemasaran produk sayuran hidroponik. Berdasarkan hal tersebut maka tim pengabdian kepada masyarakat Politeknik Negeri Lampung (Polinela) melakukan penerapan inovasi nutrisi hidroponik ABC Mix All di smart greenhouse pondok pesantren Miftahul Huda 606 untuk budidaya tanaman sayuran hidroponik, dalam rangka mengatasi permasalahan tingginya biaya nutrisi hidroponik AB Mix dan kurang terampilnya dalam mengelola nutrisi. Selain itu, untuk permasalahan tentang pemasaran produk hidroponik, pengelola greenhouse pondok pesantren Miftahul Huda 606 akan dihubungkan dengan mitra pemasaran produk hidroponik. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang telah dilaksanakan di Pondok Pesantren Miftahul Huda 606 menghasilkan: 1) Peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mengenai nutrisi ABC Mix All dari 75% menjadi 90%, 2) Peningkatan keterampilan pengelolaan nutrisi ABC Mix All dari 50% menjadi 85% dan 3) Peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mengenai pemasaran produk hidroponik dari 50% menjadi 85%. Selain itu juga diperoleh kondisi budidaya sayuran hidroponikyang subur, daun berwarna hijau segar, pangkal daun tampak sehat, serta ketinggian tanaman seragam dan merata serta hasil panen yang layak masuk pasar modern, dan diperoleh satu mitra pemasaran produk hidroponik yang dihasilkan Pondok Pesantren Miftahul Huda 606 yaitu PT. Fadilla Jaya Farm.

Abstract

Potassium is really needed by melon plants to increase the sweet taste of the fruit. The element potassium can improve the size and quality of fruit during the plant's generative period and can add a sweet taste to the fruit. Meanwhile, phosphorus functions in the process of forming plant flowers and fruit as well as increasing fruit production and ripening. The aims of the research were to study interaction between the concentration and time application of MKP fertilizer on the production and quality of melon (Cucumis melo L.) and the effect of concentration and time application of MKP fertilization on the production and quality of melon (Cucumis melo L.). This experiment used Randomized Complete Block Design, which consist 2 factors, first factor was concentration of MKP fertilizer. Second factor was time application of MKP fertilizer. Data obtained were analyzed with F test, and were continued with HSD at 5 percent when significant. Results showed that there is an interaction between the concentration of MKP fertilizer and the time of application of MKP fertilizer for melon production and quality on the parameters of fruit weight, fruit diameter and total soluble solids. Providing MKP fertilizer with a concentration of 9 g.l-1 and application time of MKP fertilizer 42 and 49 days after planting is a good combination for melon production and quality in the parameters of fruit weight (3.16 kg), fruit diameter (13.65 cm), and total dissolved solids (13.73 °brix). Providing MKP fertilizer with a concentration of 9 g.l-1 is the best fertilizer concentration for melon production and quality in the parameters of fruit weight (3.16 kg), fruit diameter (13.65 cm), and total soluble solids (13.73 °brix). MKP fertilizer application time of 42 and 49 HST is the best time for melon production and quality in the parameters of fruit weight (3.16 kg), fruit diameter (13.65 cm), and total soluble solids (13.73 °brix).

Abstract

The use of liquid organic fertilizer with added AB Mix nutrients is an alternative solution to reduce the use of AB Mix nutrients. The aims of the research were to study interaction between the application of liquid organic fertilizer and the hydroponic system on the growth and yield of pak choy and the effect of concentration of liquid organic fertilizer and hydroponic systems on the growth and yield of pak choy. This experiment used Split Plot Design, which consist 2 factors, main plot was concentration of liquid organic fertilizer. Sub plot was hydroponic systems. Data obtained were analyzed with F test, and were continued with LSD at 5 percent when significant. Results showed that there was no interaction between the concentration of liquid organic fertilizer and hydroponic system for all observed parameters. The concentration of 25% liquid organic fertilizer + 75% AB Mix and concentration of 45% liquid organic fertilizer + 55% AB Mix gave better results on the parameters of height, number of leaves and fresh weight of pak choy plants grown in a hydroponic system when compared with a concentration of 65% liquid organic fertilizer + 35 % AB Mix. The NFT hydroponic system is better in the parameters of height and number of leaves of pak choy plants when compared to the DFT hydroponic system.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the growth and vitamin C content of red amaranth microgreens (Amaranthus tricolor) under various nutrient concentrations and growing media. The experimental design used in this study was a Randomized Complete Block Design arranged factorially 5 x 3 (15 treatments) with 3 repetitions. The first factor was the concentration of hydroponic nutrients at levels of 0 ppm, 100 ppm, 200 ppm, 300 ppm, and 400 ppm. The second factor was the combination of growing media, namely sand + sawdust, sand + rice husk charcoal, and sand + cocopeat, with a 1:1 ratio for each combination. Data obtained from the observed variables were analyzed using variance analysis and further tested with an LSD test at a 5% significance level. The observed parameters included germination rate (%), plant height (cm), number of leaves, leaf color, root length (cm), number of roots, plant weight (mg), and vitamin C content. The results showed that the use of sand + rice husk charcoal as a growing medium was very suitable for the germination of red spinach microgreens. However, for leaf color and root length, the use of sand + cocopeat was better. The sand + cocopeat medium combined with nutrient concentrations of 300 ppm and 400 ppm produced the best plant height and sample weight compared to other treatments. Furthermore, the sand + sawdust medium was very effective in producing the number of roots and the vitamin C content of red spinach microgreens.

Abstract

ABC mix biological hydroponic nutrition is an innovation by developing the AB Mix hydroponic nutrition formulation (based on 100% chemicals) in collaboration with Liquid Organic Biofertilizer/LOB from LOB Plant PT. Great Giant Pineapple (PT.GGP). This invention is created in order to solve the problem of industries that want to produce hydroponic nutrients based on liquid organic biological fertilizer to reduce the concentration of chemicals in hydroponic nutrients. The aim of this invention are (1) to develop hydroponic nutrient products consisting of chemical fertilizers and biological fertilizers so that the use of chemicals can be reduced, (2) to produce patents granted regarding hydroponic nutrition based on chemical fertilizers and biological fertilizers, and (3) to apply the results of the invention to society and industry that requires the invention. The ABC Mix biological hydroponic nutrition product already has a patent with number IDS000006120 and has been implemented at Miftahul Huda Islamic Boarding School 606 through community service activities.

Abstract

Pleourotus ostreatus, well known as an white oyster mushroom is  the most popular edible mushroom in Indonesia. Baglog (sawdust as main substrat) is usually used to cultivating them. In the cultivation, it often occurs that the growing media in the baglog is not able to support the growth of oyster mushroom optimally. It is possible to add some supplements in the middle of cultivation period. The study aims to obtain information on the potential of molasses, washed rice water, and coconut water as nutritional supplements in white oyster mushroom cultivation to increase the production of it. This research was conducted from August to December 2022 at mushroom plant house (kumbung), Lampung State Polytechnic. This research used descriptive method with couple of parameter, like yield and form of white oyster mushroom. The results of this study shown that washed rice water can be used as supplement materials and has given the highest of white oyster mushroom yield (90.008 g). followed by coconut water (63.661 g), and molasses (51.102 g). On the other hand, the addition of washed rice water affect in productivity period if compared to molasses and coconut water addition.
