Abstract

Background. The increasing complexity of student needs in the digital age requires school counselors to adopt innovative approaches that move beyond traditional problem-solving frameworks. Design Thinking (DT), originally applied in business and technology, offers a human-centered and iterative process that emphasizes empathy, creativity, and collaboration, making it highly relevant for modern counseling practices. Purpose. This study aimed to develop and examine a student-centered counseling model based on Design Thinking. Specifically, it sought to investigate how DT principles—empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test—can be systematically integrated into school counseling to enhance students’ problem-solving skills, emotional resilience, and engagement in a digital learning environment. Method. A qualitative design-based research approach was employed, involving 45 school counselors and 120 high school students across three urban schools. Data were collected through focus group discussions, reflective journals, and digital platform interactions, and were analyzed thematically to construct the proposed model. Results. The findings demonstrate that the integration of Design Thinking in counseling promotes higher student engagement, encourages collaborative exploration of solutions, and improves adaptability in addressing personal, academic, and socio-emotional challenges. Counselors reported that the DT model helped them better understand student perspectives, while students valued the iterative process that allowed them to test and refine their solutions. Conclusion. This study highlights the potential of Design Thinking as a transformative model for school counseling in the digital age. By shifting from counselor-centered to student-centered practices, DT provides a structured yet flexible framework that empowers students to become active participants in resolving their own problems, thus fostering autonomy and lifelong problem-solving skills.

Abstract

The circular economy has gained increasing prominence as a transformative framework aimed at decoupling economic growth from resource depletion and environmental degradation. In response to mounting sustainability challenges, investors and policymakers are exploring circular economy principles as a foundation for reshaping sustainable investment practices. This study aims to analyze the potential of the circular economy to redefine sustainable investment practices by examining how circular strategies affect capital allocation, risk management, and corporate value propositions. The research seeks to clarify whether circular economy adoption functions as a driver of financial performance, environmental impact, and systemic resilience within investment portfolios. The study employs a qualitative analytical research design based on secondary data, including peer-reviewed academic literature, sustainability reports, investment frameworks, and policy documents related to circular economy implementation. The findings indicate that circular economy practices encourage longer-term investment horizons, enhance resource efficiency, and support innovation-driven value creation. The study concludes that the circular economy holds substantial potential to redefine sustainable investment practices by integrating economic, environmental, and governance considerations, while requiring supportive policy frameworks and standardized impact metrics to realize its full investment potential.

Abstract

The integration of nanotechnology into medicine has revolutionized genetic-based diagnostics and therapeutic interventions, offering unprecedented precision in disease detection and treatment. Advances in nano-medicine have enabled early-stage disease identification, targeted drug delivery, and personalized medical treatments, particularly in oncology, neurology, and rare genetic disorders. Despite these advancements, challenges such as biocompatibility, scalability, and regulatory approval remain significant barriers to widespread clinical implementation. This study aims to analyze the impact of nano-medicine on genetic-based diagnosis and therapy, assess its effectiveness in enhancing patient outcomes, and identify the obstacles limiting its adoption. A systematic review methodology was employed, analyzing peer-reviewed articles, clinical trial reports, and experimental studies from 2018 to 2024. The findings indicate that nano-medicine significantly improves genetic disease detection accuracy, enhances drug bioavailability, and minimizes adverse side effects through precision-targeted therapies. However, issues such as high development costs, ethical concerns, and long regulatory processes impede rapid integration into mainstream healthcare. This study concludes that nano-medicine represents a paradigm shift in genetic-based medical interventions, requiring further research in bioengineering optimization, regulatory framework standardization, and cost-effective production. Future studies should explore AI-driven nanotechnology applications and their role in improving real-time genetic diagnostics and personalized therapies.

Abstract

Cancer remains one of the leading causes of mortality worldwide, demanding innovative therapeutic strategies that enhance efficacy while minimizing systemic toxicity. Nanomedicine, integrating nanotechnology with pharmacology, offers transformative potential for precision drug delivery, early diagnosis, and targeted therapy in oncology. This study aims to explore the opportunities, challenges, and future directions of nanomedicine in cancer treatment through a comprehensive analysis of recent scientific advancements and clinical trials. A systematic review method was employed, synthesizing data from 130 peer-reviewed studies published between 2015 and 2024. The findings reveal significant improvements in drug bioavailability, tumor-specific accumulation, and controlled release using nanoparticle-based platforms such as liposomes, dendrimers, and polymeric micelles. However, translational barriers persist, including biocompatibility issues, large-scale manufacturing limitations, and regulatory uncertainty. The study concludes that while nanomedicine has demonstrated remarkable therapeutic potential, its clinical integration requires multidisciplinary collaboration and standardized evaluation frameworks to ensure safety, scalability, and cost effectiveness. The insights contribute to a forward-looking perspective on developing next generation nanotherapeutics capable of reshaping cancer care through personalized, minimally invasive, and efficient interventions.

Abstract

Chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular diseases are leading causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide. The management of these conditions is often complex and requires ongoing monitoring and adherence to treatment plans. Mobile health (mHealth) applications have emerged as a promising tool for improving chronic disease management, providing patients with real-time monitoring, medication reminders, and lifestyle recommendations. This systematic review aims to evaluate the effectiveness of mHealth applications in managing chronic diseases, examining their impact on patient outcomes, engagement, and healthcare costs. A comprehensive search of electronic databases was conducted, and studies assessing the use of mHealth applications for chronic disease management were included. Data were analyzed for clinical outcomes, user satisfaction, and adherence rates. The findings suggest that mHealth applications can significantly improve patient engagement, enhance self-management behaviors, and lead to better health outcomes in chronic disease management. However, the effectiveness varies across different conditions, with more robust evidence for conditions like diabetes and hypertension. Challenges such as data privacy concerns, technology access issues, and patient adherence remain barriers to widespread adoption. In conclusion, mHealth applications have a valuable role in chronic disease management, but further research is needed to optimize their use and address existing challenges.

Abstract

Background. The effectiveness of oral corrective feedback (OCF) in language learning is influenced by learners’ comprehension and response to various OCF techniques. Therefore, it is essential for teachers to consider learners’ preferences for OCF strategies. Purpose. This quantitative study aimed to investigate the preferences of Thai as a foreign language (TFL) learner for ten commonly discussed types of OCF. Specifically, it examined whether these preferences are influenced by four learner variables: proficiency level, first language (L1), foreign language classroom anxiety (FLCA), and foreign language enjoyment (FLE). Method. The study involved 288 university students from Chinese, Japanese, and Korean TFL settings, and the data from questionnaires were analysed using appropriate statistical methods. Results. The findings indicate that, regardless of proficiency level, L1, FLCA, or FLE level, learners prefer more explicit OCF techniques, such as metalinguistics feedback and explicit correction. However, Korean undergraduates scored lower in the majority of OCF strategies (i.e., ignoring, elicitation, recast, explanation, and public feedback) compared to the other participants. Conclusion. This study has significant implications for instructional practices in TFL settings and for L2 lecturers in the classroom. By understanding learners’ preferences for OCF, educators can tailor their instructional approaches to meet the specific needs of their students.

Abstract

Background. Artificial Intelligence (AI) chatbots have emerged as transformative tools in English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction, particularly for enhancing speaking skills through interactive, learner-centered engagement. Purpose. The research aims to identify the extent to which chatbot-based interaction fosters independent language learning, self-regulation, and communicative confidence. Employing a mixed-method design, data were collected from 80 undergraduate ESL learners through pre- and post-speaking assessments, learner autonomy questionnaires, and semi-structured interviews.   Method. Quantitative data were analyzed using paired-sample t-tests to measure improvements in speaking fluency and autonomy, while qualitative responses provided deeper insights into learners’ perceptions and experiences. Results. Results indicated significant gains in both speaking performance (p < .05) and self-directed learning behaviors, with participants reporting increased confidence, flexibility, and willingness to practice without instructor supervision. Qualitative findings further revealed that AI chatbots, perceived as nonjudgmental interlocutors, reduced learners’ speaking anxiety and encouraged spontaneous communication. Conclusion. The study concludes that integrating AI chatbots into ESL speaking activities effectively promotes learner autonomy and oral proficiency. These findings underscore the pedagogical potential of AI technology to foster independent, interactive, and confidence-building learning experiences in Indonesian ESL contexts.
