Private practice midwives (BPS) did not have standard operating procedure (SOP) in providing obstetric service. One of midwives duties was to provide exclusive breastfeeding socialization to pregnant women, childbearing mothers and community. The objective of this study was to analyze the implementation of exclusive breastfeeding socialization by BPS in South Bengkulu district. This study applied qualitative method and using in-depth interview as data collection technique. The main informant was 3 private practice midwives in the city area and 2 private practice midwives in the rural area. Triangulation was done to 5 head of puskesmas, chief of nutritional unit and head of Indonesian Midwifery Association (IBI). Focus group discussion was conducted to 3 mothers and 3 people in the community (family member of the patient) in each selected BPS. Results of the study showed that implementation of exclusive breastfeeding socialization variable was still limited to individual education and no education materials were provided. There was no communication among head of puskesmas, head of district health office and head of IBI towards BPS. BPS facilities were still insufficient to support the success of exclusive breastfeeding. Disposition had not supported exclusive breastfeeding coverage improvement. In the bureaucracy structure variable, there was no reporting format from BPS to puskesmas on exclusive breastfeeding socialization implementation in South Bengkulu district. It was suggested to district health office to formulate regulation policy in the form of decree regarding exclusive breastfeeding and to forbid collaboration between BPS and infant formula companies. Head of puskesmas had to do supervision and monitoring to BPS. Private practice midwives were expected to improve the frequency of exclusive breastfeeding socialization and to avoid collaboration with infant formula companies.

Abstract

The percentage of the incidence of anxiety experienced by premenopausal women worldwide is still relatively high (77%). About 25% of anxiety occurs during menopause, with various symptoms caused by individuals, depending on psychological and emotional. This study aimed to determine the relationship between knowledge and family support with anxiety incidence in premenopausal women at the Pekik Nyaring Community Health Centre, Central Bengkulu Regency, in 2022. The research design used a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study were all women aged 45-55 years in 12 Integrated Post for Non-Communicable Diseases or Pos Pelayanan Terpadu Penyakit Tidak Menular (Posbindu PTM ) Pekik Nyaring Community Health Centre, totalling 981 people. The sample in this study was 78 respondents taken by purposive sampling, and the number of samples distributed in each Posbindu was not equal. Data analysis using univariate and bivariate analysis using Chi-Square. The results showed that 78 premenopausal women (53.8%) experienced moderate and severe anxiety, (59%) had poor knowledge, and (65.4%) had poor family support. There was a relationship between knowledge and anxiety in premenopausal women with p=0.002 < 0.05 and OR = 5.0. It means that premenopausal women with poor knowledge were 5 times more likely to experience moderate and severe anxiety. There was a relationship between family support and premenopausal women's anxiety, p=0.000 < 0.05 and OR = 8.4. It means that premenopausal women who receive family support were at least 8 times more likely to experience moderate and severe anxiety. Suggestions for the Community Health Centre, in this case, the Head of the Community Health Centre, can optimise health workers to create innovative programs related to women's preparation for menopause

Abstract

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 1,769,425 people (90%) were found to suffer from dysmenorrhea (WHO, 2019). In Indonesia, the prevalence of primary dysmenorrhea reaches 54.89% (Pangestu, 2020). In Bengkulu, the prevalence of Dysmenorrhea is 82% (Ministry of Education and Culture of Bengkulu City, 2022). The design used in this research is observational analytic with a cross sectional approach. The population in this study were 7th grade students at SMPN 02 Bengkulu City, totaling 186 students, the largest number of female students compared to other junior high schools. Samples were taken using total sampling for all 7th grade students who experienced dysmenorrhea, and for the rest using random sampling with clusters. This research method uses the Chi-square test and Logistic Regression. The results of the Chi-square test showed that the p-value of knowledge with primary dysmenorrhea was 0.000<0.05, meaning there was a relationship between knowledge and primary dysmenorrhea, fast food consumption with primary dysmenorrhea 0.000<0.05, meaning there was a relationship between fast food consumption and the incidence of primary dysmenorrhea, and exercise habits and the incidence of primary dysmenorrhea 0.000 <0.05 means there is a relationship between the incidence of primary dysmenorrhea. The results of multivariate analysis show that the factor that most influences the incidence of dysmenorrhea is consumption of fast food with a value of p = 0.000; OR: 9.518 (2.972-30.486) meaning that fast food consumption has an influence of 9 times on the incidence of primary dysmenorrhea.
