Abstract

Traditional games have the potential to serve as culture-based learning resources that support contextual learning in elementary schools. However, their utilization in the learning process remains relatively low, including among Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) students as prospective teachers. This study aims to analyze the relationship between PGSD students’ perceptions and interests toward the use of traditional games as learning resources in elementary schools. This study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics and Pearson Product Moment correlation tests. The results showed that PGSD students had positive perceptions and high interest in the use of traditional games as learning resources. In addition, there was a positive and significant relationship between students’ perceptions and interests. These findings indicate that more positive perceptions toward traditional games are associated with higher interest in implementing them in elementary school learning. This study confirms that traditional games have the potential to be developed as active, contextual, and culture-based learning media.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the self-check method on improving students’ learning outcomes in underhand passing in volleyball. The research was conducted at SD 13 Arfai using a pre-experimental design with a one-group pre-test and post-test approach. The participants consisted of elementary school students selected using total sampling. Data were collected through performance tests, observation sheets, and self-assessment instruments, focusing on technical aspects of underhand passing such as body position, arm contact, coordination, and ball control. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes after the implementation of the self-check method. The mean score increased from pre-test to post-test, supported by the results of the paired sample t-test (Sig. < 0.05), indicating a statistically significant difference. Furthermore, the effect size analysis revealed a large effect, suggesting that the self-check method had a strong impact on students’ skill development. These findings indicate that the self-check method effectively enhances students’ underhand passing skills by promoting active reflection, feedback integration, and repeated practice. In addition to improving technical performance, the method also supports students’ self-regulation and engagement in learning. Therefore, the self-check method can be considered a practical and effective instructional strategy in physical education, particularly in teaching basic volleyball skills at the elementary level.

Abstract

The problem addressed in this study is the low shooting ability of students in the soccer extracurricular program at SMAN 1 Porehu, as evidenced by inaccurate ball direction and slow ball speed, which is suspected to be caused by weak lower-body muscle strength. This study aims to determine the relationship between lower-body muscle strength and shooting ability among these students. The method used was a quantitative study with a correlational approach. The sample consisted of 15 students selected through purposive sampling. The testing instruments included a vertical jump test to measure lower-body muscle strength and an observation sheet to assess shooting ability. Data analysis techniques utilized simple correlation and regression tests with the aid of SPSS. The results indicate a significant relationship between lower-body muscle strength and shooting ability, with a coefficient of determination of 67.1%. This means that lower limb muscle strength contributes 67.1% to shooting ability, while the remainder is influenced by other factors. The conclusion of this study is that the better the students’ lower limb muscle strength, the higher their shooting ability. Therefore, lower limb muscle strengthening exercises need to be integrated into extracurricular programs.

Abstract

The basketball dribbling skills of students at SMAN 1 Soppeng are still not optimal. Some students often lose control of the ball when moving quickly or under pressure from opponents. In addition, their hand-eye coordination appears to be underdeveloped, and their confidence levels remain low. This study aims to determine the effect of hand-eye coordination and self-confidence on dribbling skills, both partially and simultaneously. The research method used a quantitative correlational-regressive approach with a sample of 30 male students participating in the SMAN 1 Soppeng basketball extracurricular program, selected through total sampling. Research instruments included a zig-zag dribbling test, a tennis ball throw-and-catch test, and a Likert-scale self-confidence questionnaire. Data analysis utilized descriptive statistics, classical assumption tests (normality, linearity, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity), as well as simple and multiple linear regression. The results showed that hand-eye coordination had a significant effect on dribbling (R = 0.850; p < 0.001). Self-confidence also had a significant effect (R = 0.857; p < 0.001). Simultaneously, both variables had a significant effect with R = 0.901 and Adjusted R-Square = 0.797, meaning that 79.7% of the variation in dribbling ability is explained by these two variables. Conclusion: Eye-hand coordination and self-confidence jointly influence dribbling ability.

Abstract

Learning short stories in elementary schools is one of the learning materials in the Indonesian language subject. This study aims to determine how the image streaming method is used in short story writing. This study used a qualitative method. The subjects were fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 15 Maripi. Data collection techniques used in this study included tests, interviews, and documentation. The research instrument used was a test. Documentation includes records of past events. In this study, documentation was in the form of photographs taken during the research process. Data analysis techniques were carried out using an interactive analysis model consisting of four components: data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. This research data was validated using content validity, source triangulation, and triangulation of data collection techniques. Based on the collected data, fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 15 Maripi showed an increase in short story writing skills implemented in the pre-action cycle, which showed an increase in the average score and the percentage of classical completion of students' short story writing skills. Thus, it can be concluded that short story writing skills in Indonesian language subjects improved with the use of the Image Streaming method.
