Abstract

Karangasem Village, Bulu District, Sukoharjo Regency has natural potential in the form of a reservoir that has not been utilized optimally. To develop a reservoir development program, a SWOT analysis was carried out using a focused group discussion method between the Community Service Team from Veteran Bangun Nusantara Sukoharjo University, the Karangasem Village Government, and the GP Fish Farmers Group. The data collection stage produces strength data, namely: it has sufficient area, the depth reaches 1.5 m, the volume of water that can be accommodated reaches 22,500 m3, the condition of the water in the reservoir is considered quite good based on the inflow and outflow of water, the level of water infiltration is not too high. high, has an electricity network, and has an internet network. The weakness is that the location of the embung is far from the city center, Mount Pegat still lacks visitors, the knowledge of the embung managers is still minimal. The opportunity is that fishing activities have many enthusiasts, they can activate social media for promotion. The threat is that it has to compete with other water tourism in the Sukoharjo and Wonogiri areas. From the results of the SWOT analysis, a decision was obtained to develop the embung into a fishing tourist attraction and floating net cages. Keywords: embung, SWOT, fishing, cages

Abstract

ABSTRACT Improving farm business management capacity is an important effort to support the sustainability of farming activities and farmer welfare. This community service program aimed to improve the business management capacity of the Ngesti Utomo Farmer Group in Wonogiri Regency through farm business management training. The partner farmer group faced major problems related to weak managerial practices in farm business management, particularly in business planning, business legality, cost of production determination, and marketing. The activity involved 25 members of the farmer group. The implementation method used a group capacity building training approach through interactive lectures and participatory discussions. The training materials covered business motivation, business legality, cost of production determination, business initiation and planning, as well as marketing. Program evaluation was conducted using pre-test and post-test methods to measure changes in participants’ understanding before and after the training. The results showed an increase in scores across all training aspects, indicating improved managerial capacity among participants. The training also encouraged changes in participants’ perspectives toward viewing farming as an economic activity that should be managed in a more planned and sustainable manner. Follow-up activities are directed toward assisting the implementation of farm business management practices to support the sustainability of the farmer group’s business. Abstract

Perlakuan tsb adalah P0 : daun sawit + 0 cc MA-11 + urea 2 g + molasses 5 cc; P1 : daun sawit + 2 cc MA-11 + urea 2 g + molasses 5 cc; P2 : daun sawit +4 cc MA-11 + urea 2 g + molasses 5 cc; P3 : daun sawit + 6 cc MA-11 + urea 2g + molasses 5 cc. Inkubasi dilakukan selama 9 hari.

Abstract

This study evaluated the effect of different dehydration methods, specifically oven drying (60°C) and freeze-drying (-20°C to 65°C), on the antioxidant activity of Cilembu sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L. Lam) flour and its functional application in chicken meatballs. The antioxidant capacity was measured using the DPPH radical scavenging assay, with results showing that freeze-drying significantly preserved higher levels of bioactive compounds compared to thermal evaporation. Freeze-dried tuber flour reached a radical scavenging activity of 55.74 mg/ml, and when applied to meatballs as a 15% substitute for tapioca flour, it exhibited a superior antioxidant activity of 41.7%. This value was significantly higher (P<0.01) than the oven-dried treatment (28.85%) and the control group (13.22%). The enhanced retention of antioxidants in freeze-drying is attributed to the sublimation process, which minimizes the oxidation and thermal degradation of heat-sensitive molecules such as beta-carotene and phenolic compounds inherently found in Cilembu sweet potatoes. In conclusion, freeze-drying is the more effective processing method for maintaining the functional integrity of local Indonesian tubers, providing a high-quality ingredient for the development of standardized functional foods.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the performance of hybrid broiler ducks with the addition of fermented corn cob flour to their feed. An experimental method was used for this study. This study used 36 1-week-old hybrid broiler ducks and were raised for 4 weeks in a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The hybrid ducks were fed fermented corncob meal at percentages of 0%, 2%, 4%, and 6% as part of the treatment. Feed Consumption (FI), Body Weight Gain, and Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR) were some of the variables examined. Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) was used to examine the research data, and Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) was used to test the results at a 5% significance level. The research findings showed that Feed Consumption (FI), Body Weight Gain, and Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR) of hybrid ducks were not affected by the addition of fermented corncob meal to the feed.

Abstract

This experiment aims to evaluate the effectiveness of inoculation and synergy of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF) and Trichoderma harzianum on the growth, productivity, and effectiveness of inoculation of Alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) forage in marginal land in the early phase of the first regrowth. This experiment used biological agents, mycorrhizae, and Trichoderma. This study used a completely randomised design with a one-way pattern consisting of four treatments and five replications, namely T0: without inoculation; T1: Mycorrhizae 300 spores/polybag; T2: Trichoderma 5 grams, 1 × 106 spores/gram; T3: Combination of Mycorrhizae 300 spores/polybag and Trichoderma 5 grams, 1 × 106 spores/gram. Data were analysed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The results showed that AMF inoculation in treatment T1 had a significant effect (p <0.05) on plant length (cm), number of branches (strands per branch), fresh biomass of the canopy and the effectiveness of inoculation. Treatments T2 and T3 were not significantly different from T0 (p>0.05) regarding plant length, but the number of branches differed. T2 and T3 showed significant differences (p<0.05), which were higher than the control, but not with the results of fresh shoot biomass and inoculation effectiveness. T2 gave insignificant results and was not better than treatments T1 and T3. Mycorrhizal inoculation T1 positively responded to plant growth, fresh shoot biomass and inoculation effectiveness under drought stress, although the combination treatment T3 also provided good feedback.
