Abstract

Teacher is an important factor in realizing the quality of learning. Therefore, teachers should be able to use teaching materials and able to develop learning materials creatively so that the learning goals can be achieved maximally . The purpose of this study is to know the learning materials used IPS and development of teaching materials conducted by IPS teachers.The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research by taking research in three schools located in District of Ngadirejo. The results of this study indicate that: (1) the learning materials used in IPS learning process are text books and modules provided by the government (2) each teacher has already developed learning materials in the form of brochures, dictates, handouts, and student worksheets (3) obstacles faced by teachers in the development process are the lack of reference book, the lack of using technology and the availability of time that affect the developing of IPS teaching materials.   Guru merupakan faktor penting dalam mewujudkan kualitas pembelajaran. Oleh karena itu guru harus bisa menggunakan bahan ajar IPS dan dapat mengembangkan dengan kreativitas yang dimiliki agar dalam pembelajaran tersebut bisa tercapai dengan maksimal. Tujuan dari Penelitian ini ialah mengetahui bahan ajar IPS yang digunakan dan pengembangan bahan ajar yang dilakukan oleh guru IPS.Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan mengambil penelitian di tiga sekolah yang berada di Kecamatan Ngadirejo Kabupaten Temanggung. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa : (1) bahan ajar yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran IPS yaitu buku paket dan modul yang disediakan pemerintah (2) masing-masing guru sudah ada yang mengambangkan bahan ajar berupa brosur, diktat, handout, dan lembar kerja siswa. (3) kendala-kendala yang dihadapi guru dalam proses pengembangan yaitu referensi buku yang masih kurang, penggunaan teknologi yang masih canggung  dan waktu yang menjadi kendala utama setiap guru dalam mengembangkan bahan ajar IPS.

Abstract

The implementation of the school zoning policy in the student admission system of the lower secondary schools since 2017 aims to promote equal educational access for all pupils in Indonesia. The new policy has been constantly under scrutiny, confusing the grounds, particularly for parents whose kids failed to get admitted. Based on a qualitative study in the typical Indonesian regency of Temanggung, Central Java, the article underscores that the geographical based of school zoning system might have never assured equal education access for all pupils as the available seats in all state-owned public schools combined do not meet the number of prospectus students in the regency per annum. Moreover, there are some different understandings among government officials, particularly regent educational officers, schools’ principals, and teachers, regarding the primary goals of the policy as well as attention to its long-term unintended impacts. Under this zoned student admission system, some traditionally reputable and favorite state-owned public schools have to admit students with diverse academic motivation and performance, including the lower one, which eventually leads them to struggle to maintain academic quality and reputation.

Abstract

His study aims to analyze the Content of Character Education Values ​​in Student Books for Social Studies Class VIII in the Freedom to Learn Curriculum. This study uses content analysis methods and uses a qualitative research approach. In this study, the source of the data used was the Social Sciences Class VIII Student's Book of the Independent Learning Curriculum. In collecting data, it must be analyzed carefully and carefully in order to find the character education values ​​contained in the book. Based on the results of the research, the data obtained regarding the values ​​of character education contained in the Student's Books for Class VIII Social Studies Subjects of the Freedom to Learn Curriculum, namely Tolerance, Religion, Mutual Respect, Equality, Love of the Motherland, Responsibility, National Spirit, Mutual Cooperation, Critical Thinking, Competent, Competitive, Integrity, Self-starter, Discipline, Politeness, Care for the Environment, Teamwork, Friendly, Independent, Global Diversity, Mutual Respect, Curiosity, National Spirit, Social Integrity, Togetherness, Nationalism, Willing to Sacrifice , Democratic, Patriotism Spirit, Love Peace, Solidarity, and Social Care.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan pembelajaran IPS yang dilakukan secara berdiferensiasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus, teknik analisis data memakai triangulasi teknik yang mengkonfirmasi data berdasarkan hasil observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Peneliti menghasilkan temuan diantaranya pelaksanaan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi telah berhasil diterapkan oleh guru IPS. Guru menggunakan diferensiasi konten, diferensiasi proses, dan diferensiasi produk. Hasil pembelajaran berdiferensiasi memberikan dampak yang positif baik dari segi pengajar maupun peserta didik. Melalui pembelajaran berdiferensiasi guru merasa senang karena peserta didik lebih antusias dan mengena, hal ini diwujudkan dalam bentuk produk yang dihasilkan peserta didik dalam pembelajaran sangat kreatif. Namun tantangan yang diterima oleh guru pada tahap diferensiasi proses, guru masih menemukan kebingungan saat membedakan bahan ajar yang harus diberikan pada peserta dididk yang bervariasi. Melalui pembelajaran berdiferensiasi pada kurikulum merdeka memberikan otonomi peserta didik untuk dapat mengekspresikan kemampuan belajarnya berdasarkan potensi dan minat yang dimiliki.

Abstract

Abstrak: Pendidikan karakter memainkan tugas utama untuk membangun karakter siswa serta persiapan mereka untuk menghadapi tantangan kehidupan di masyarakat. Terutama dalam pembelajaran IPS yang memiliki tujuan menjadikan siswa yang bertanggung jawab dan memiliki karakter. Adapun penelitian bertujuan untuk Menganalisis nilai-nilai Karakter pada pembelajaran IPS dalam Kurikulum Merdeka di SMP Negeri 4 Tondano dan Hubungan Pembelajaran IPS dengan Pengembangan Pendidikan Karakter. Metode ini menggunakan kualitatif dan observasi. Dalam penelitian, data primer dapat diperoleh melalui guru IPS dan beberapa siswa yang berkaitan dengan penelitian yang saya angkat. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian saya menggunakan teknik triangulasi dengan cara data dikumpulkan melalui observasi kelas, wawancara dengan 2 guru IPS dan 5 siswa, dan analisis dokumen terkait kurikulum IPS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan karakter dalam pembelajaran IPS di SMP Negeri 4 Tondano sudah terbilang cukup bagus karena sudah banyak yang diterapkan dimana dalam kurikulum pembelajaran IPS di sekolah saat ini, terdapat beberapa nilai-nilai karakter yang bisa ditemukan, seperti Sopan santun, Saling Menghormati, kejujuran, kerjasama, toleransi, dan tanggung jawab.Abstract: Character education plays a major role in building students' character and preparing them to face the challenges of life in society. Especially in social studies learning which has the aim of making students responsible and have character. The research aims to analyze character values in social studies learning in the Merdeka Curriculum at SMP Negeri 4 Tondano and the relationship between social studies learning and character education development. This method uses qualitative and observation. In research, primary data can be obtained through social studies teachers and several students who are related to the researchIconducted. The data analysis technique in my research uses triangulation techniques by collecting data through classroom observations, interviews with social studies two teachers and five students, and document analysis related to the social studies curriculum. The results of the research show that character education in social studies learning at SMP Negeri 4 Tondano is quite good because it has been widely implemented in the current social studies learning curriculum in schools, several character values can be found, such as courtesy, mutual respect, honesty, cooperation, tolerance, and responsibility.

Abstract

Ilmu sosial di negara berkembang (salah satunya Indonesia) masih mengguna-kan paradigma ilmu sosial di Barat (Eropa) sehingga dalam beberapa kasus menjadi tidak relevan ketika digunakan untuk memecahkan masalah sosial. Penelitian menggunakan metode kajian pustaka yaitu sebuah pencarian kebenaran secara otoritatif melalui pendapat dan kajian ahli yang dituliskan dalam buku dan referensi. Hasil kajian menemukan bahwa perkembangan ilmu sosial di Indonesia memang tidak dapat dilepaskan dari dunia Barat. Pribumisasi merupakan wacana untuk menumbuhkan pemikiran baru dalam ilmu-ilmu sosial di Indonesia agar lebih kontekstual. Beberapa tokoh menawarkan teori sosial alternatif yang mengkedepankan pribumisasi ilmu sosial yaitu: Kuntowoyo, Sartono Kartodirjo, Mubyarto, Purwa Santoso, dan Zamroni. Upaya pribumisasi harus ditindaklanjuti dengan mengajarkan ilmu sosial alternatif dalam berbagai jenjang pendidikan. Pembaruan IPS Terpadu dengan pembelajaran alternatif menjadi upaya yang efektif untuk membumikan ilmu sosial yang khas Indonesia.INDIGENIZATION OF SOCIAL SCIENCES AND RENEWING OF INTEGRATED SOCIAL SCIENCES LEARNING Social science in developing countries (one of which is Indonesia) still uses the social science paradigm in the West (Europe) so that in some cases it becomes irrelevant when it is used to solve social problems. The research used the literature review method, which is an authoritative search for truth through expert opinions and studies written in books and references. The results of the study found that the development of social science in Indonesia cannot be separated from the Western world. Privatization is a discourse to foster new thinking in the social sciences in Indonesia to make it more contextual. Several figures offered alternative social theories that prioritized the indigenization of social science, namely: Kuntowoyo, Sartono Kartodirjo, Mubyarto, Purwa Santoso, and Zamroni. Indigenousization efforts must be followed up by teaching alternative social sciences at various levels of education. Integrated IPS reform with alternative learning is an effective effort to ground social science that is unique to Indonesia.

Abstract

Local wisdom has an important role in cultural sustainability in a global context. The current development of globalization has the potential for a shift in local values to a more attractive global culture. This research aims to determine the strategies carried out by the Taruna Nusa Harapan Junior High School, whose students have a diversity of ethnicities, religions and national origins in maintaining local wisdom values in the City of Mojokerto. This research uses qualitative methods by collecting data using in-depth interviews with P5 facilitators, teachers and students, observation and documentation. Data processing techniques use source triangulation. The results of the research show that Taruna Nusa Harapan Junior High School preserves the values of local wisdom through the Project for Strengthening the Profile of Pancasila Students (P5) by highlighting the theme of local wisdom by creating an activity entitled the Tunas Maja festival. Not only co-curricular activities, P5 Activities with the theme of local wisdom are very supportive in instilling local wisdom values in social studies learning for grades VII and VIII. The strategy used by the social studies teacher is to insert local wisdom material into relevant social studies materials such as class VII material about the relationship between the diversity of geographical conditions in the archipelago and the formation of cultural diversity. Apart from that, class VIII material, this theme is relevant to material regarding awareness of social changes that are occurring in the contemporary era with the theme of microhistory, local history, oral traditions.

Abstract

The Pancasila student profile strengthening project is a new program in the Merdeka Curriculum which is a challenge for schools. The problem for teachers in North Sulawesi is the lack of understanding of teachers in implementing the Pancasila student profile strengthening project, especially in developing modules. So that the development of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) teaching module in schools is a need for P5 facilitators in implementing P5. Another problem is the rampant bullying cases in every class. This prompted a community service by a team from Manado State University. The community service was carried out in August 2024 in the hall of SMP N 3 Tondano. This training uses lecture and demonstration methods with the aim of providing teachers with P5 development strategies and anti-bullying education for teachers, before the implementation of P5 anti-bullying. This activity begins with a pretest and ends with a posttest, the first training session is bullying material followed by module development training using the backward design strategy. This backward design begins with determining project objectives, determining assessments and continuing with the preparation of teaching materials that support the achievement of project objectives. The training results showed an increase in knowledge of 0.7 based on the N-Gain formula, which indicates an increase in knowledge in the moderate category on the topic of anti-bullying in the context of P5. This activity is expected to be a provision for teachers in implementing the P5 theme of building the soul and body, so that P5 activities can create skills in students and instill characters that are in line with Pancasila values. Making students aware of the dangers of bullying, so that schools that are safe from bullying can be created.

Abstract

Social capital is a key aspect in nurturing inclusive and sustainable learners. Efforts to strengthen social capital in students in this era of globalization can be achieved through the integration of the "mapalus" values into Social Studies (IPS) education. This research employs a qualitative approach with data collection methods including interviews with teachers and students, observations, and document analysis. The findings of this study indicate that the integration of "mapalus" values into IPS education can be considered an effective strategy for enhancing students' social capital. Mapalus-based IPS learning encourages students to become active and responsible members of society. The local wisdom of "mapalus" values applied teaches the importance of mutual assistance and the development of social skills in students.

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to explore the process of internalizing environmental awareness among elementary school students at SD GMIM Leilem, located in an ecologically rich area. The method used was a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that students have a high level of environmental awareness, as reflected in their active involvement in waste management, recycling programs, and tree planting. In addition, the integration of global issues such as climate change, air pollution, and deforestation into the curriculum has increased students' understanding of ecological challenges. The implications of these findings emphasize the importance of implementing holistic and experience-based environmental education. Sustained support from schools and communities is also an important factor in shaping a generation committed to environmental conservation.Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengeksplorasi proses internalisasi karakter peduli lingkungan pada siswa sekolah dasar di SD GMIM Leilem, yang terletak di kawasan kaya ekologi. Metode yang digunakan berupa pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa memiliki tingkat kesadaran lingkungan yang tinggi, tercermin dari keterlibatan aktif dalam pengelolaan sampah, program daur ulang, serta penanaman pohon. Selain itu, integrasi isu-isu global seperti perubahan iklim, polusi udara, dan deforestasi dalam kurikulum turut meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap tantangan ekologis. Implikasi dari temuan ini menekankan pentingnya penerapan pendidikan lingkungan yang holistik dan berbasis pengalaman. Dukungan berkelanjutan dari sekolah dan komunitas juga menjadi faktor penting dalam membentuk generasi yang berkomitmen pada pelestarian lingkungan.
