Abstract

Banggai Kepulauan Regency has substantial natural, coastal, marine, karst, and tourism potential; however, these potentials are accompanied by environmental vulnerability, disaster risk, and limited community understanding of sustainable spatial planning and ecotourism management. This community service activity aimed to improve public literacy regarding sustainable ecotourism, environmental conservation, and the integration of Strategic Environmental Assessment principles into the Regional Spatial Plan of Banggai Kepulauan Regency. The activity was carried out through a participatory approach involving socialization, discussion, document review, and community-based assistance. The materials focused on the importance of protecting water resources, conserving lakes and karst ecosystems, managing waste in tourism areas, and strengthening community participation in environmentally sound spatial planning. The results showed that the activity helped participants understand the relationship between spatial planning, disaster mitigation, environmental carrying capacity, and sustainable tourism development. Community members became more aware that tourism development should not only pursue economic benefits but also consider ecological protection and social sustainability. The discussion also revealed the need for continuous assistance, clearer information on tourism management, and stronger collaboration between local government, communities, and other stakeholders. This activity indicates that environmental education based on Strategic Environmental Assessment documents can be an effective approach to strengthening community awareness and supporting sustainable development in island regions.

Abstract

Ikan nike (Awaous melanocephalus) merupakan komoditas perikanan khas Gorontalo yang berpotensi dikembangkan menjadi produk olahan bernilai tambah, tetapi pemanfaatannya oleh UMKM pesisir masih menghadapi kendala pada mutu produk, pemasaran, dan penetapan harga jual yang belum berbasis perhitungan biaya produksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan nilai tambah produk olahan ikan nike melalui pelatihan optimalisasi produk, pemasaran digital, dan analisis Harga Pokok Produksi (HPP). Metode yang digunakan meliputi pelatihan dan pendampingan yang difokuskan pada perbaikan proses pengolahan dan pengemasan, pemanfaatan WhatsApp Business dan Canva sebagai media pemasaran digital, serta penerapan perhitungan HPP secara aplikatif. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui observasi dan pengukuran tingkat kebermanfaatan kegiatan menggunakan instrumen pre-test dan post-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan rata-rata tingkat kebermanfaatan dari 15,39% sebelum kegiatan menjadi 84,61% setelah kegiatan yang mencerminkan peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan mitra dalam aspek mutu produk, pemasaran digital, dan perhitungan HPP. Kesimpulan pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa integrasi optimalisasi produk, pemasaran digital, dan analisis HPP secara signifikan berkontribusi dalam meningkatkan nilai tambah, daya saing, dan keberlanjutan usaha UMKM olahan ikan nike berbasis sumber daya lokal.

Abstract

Banggai Kepulauan Regency faces challenges in declining capture fishery production and economic leakage due to illegal mid-sea transactions. This community service activity aimed to facilitate the participatory formulation of fishery downstreaming policies to support the Minapolitan vision in regional planning. The method employed was descriptive qualitative with technocratic mentoring through a series of Focus Group Discussions (FGD) and Public Consultations. Results indicated that fishery issues rank as the second strategic priority in the region's sustainable development agenda. The process successfully formulated recommendations for processing infrastructure integration, including the development of Small and Medium Industries (IKM) in Sambiut and Kalumbatan Villages, and optimized Fish Auction Sites (TPI) to terminate illegal trade chains. It is concluded that inclusive policy facilitation can synchronize fishing community economic needs with coastal ecosystem protection mandates. Downstreaming serves as a key solution to increase local value-added and accelerate sustainable development in Banggai Kepulauan Regency.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the financial feasibility of the pickled skipjack tuna production business at the Titie Food MSME in Gorontalo City through the R/C Ratio, Break Even Point (BEP), and Payback Period (PP) approaches. The research method uses a quantitative descriptive approach by collecting data on fixed costs, variable costs, production volume, revenue, and initial investment incurred by the MSME. The results show that the total fixed costs of the Titie Food MSME are IDR 8,606,165.46 per month, with total variable costs reaching IDR 37,275,000.00 for a production capacity of 2,100 units. The R/C Ratio analysis shows a value greater than 1, which indicates that the business is in a profitable condition and is feasible to run. The BEP analysis shows that the business reaches the break-even point at sales of 703 units or IDR 21,090,000, while actual production far exceeds this value, thus providing a high safety margin. Furthermore, the Payback Period (PP) analysis shows that the initial investment of IDR 413,178,997.00 can be recovered within 24.13 months, or approximately two years. Overall, the results of this study confirm that the pickled skipjack tuna production business at the Titie Food MSME is financially viable and has good long-term development prospects
