Abstract

Digital transformation in the retail sector is progressing rapidly, yet many micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) continue to face challenges in utilizing technology effectively. This study presents a student-led community empowerment model aimed at optimizing digital retail strategies while supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach complemented by quantitative observation and survey data collected from 100 respondents. Students implemented various digital initiatives, including digital branding, content management, marketplace integration, and digital payment systems in participating MSMEs. The findings indicate significant improvements in market reach, customer interaction, operational efficiency, and customer loyalty. The respondent data further support the positive impact of digital strategy implementation and highlight the role of students as mediators of knowledge transfer between academic theory and business practice. This model demonstrates that student involvement in digital retail initiatives can effectively enhance MSME performance while promoting inclusive economic growth, industrial innovation, and responsible consumption aligned with SDGs. The findings also suggest a scalable framework for sustainable community-based economic empowerment.

Abstract

The rapid adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) decision systems has increased organizational dependence on large-scale data, making big data governance a critical requirement for ensuring reliable and responsible decision-making. Although AI systems are often evaluated based on predictive accuracy and computational performance, their trustworthiness is strongly influenced by the quality, security, privacy, traceability, and fairness of the data used throughout the AI lifecycle. This study aims to develop a Big Data Governance Framework for Trustworthy AI Decision Systems by integrating key governance dimensions with trustworthy AI requirements. A qualitative conceptual framework development approach was employed, supported by structured literature review, thematic synthesis, and design science research principles. Relevant literature on big data governance, trustworthy AI, data quality, privacy, security, explainability, accountability, fairness, and AI decision systems was reviewed to identify recurring concepts and research gaps. The results show that trustworthy AI decision systems require seven core governance dimensions: data quality governance, security and privacy governance, metadata and data lineage, bias and fairness control, explainability support, accountability mechanisms, and continuous monitoring. These dimensions strengthen trustworthy AI capabilities, including reliability, transparency, explainability, fairness, privacy preservation, security, robustness, and auditability. The proposed framework demonstrates that trustworthy AI is not only determined by algorithmic performance but also by strong data governance across the AI lifecycle. This study concludes that effective big data governance can improve decision accuracy, traceability, accountability, risk reduction, and stakeholder trust in AI-based decision systems.

Abstract

The advancement of digital technology has become a major driving force behind the transformation of higher education in Indonesia, particularly in developing students' strategic management competencies, where active engagement and critical thinking are essential. This study employed a quasi-experimental approach with a pretest–posttest design to evaluate the effectiveness of technology-enhanced learning that integrates a Learning Management System (LMS), strategic simulation, and gamification elements. The research instruments consisted of a strategic competency test based on business case studies, digital literacy and student engagement questionnaires, and classroom observation sheets. Quantitative data were analyzed using paired-sample t-tests and Pearson correlation analysis, while qualitative data were examined through student feedback. This study addresses a gap in the Indonesian higher education literature, which has predominantly focused on student motivation, satisfaction, or engagement without directly assessing measurable improvements in strategic management competencies. The findings reveal that the simultaneous integration of an LMS, digital simulations, and gamification significantly enhances students' abilities in business environment analysis, strategy formulation, decision-making, and performance evaluation, thereby providing a more practical and strategically oriented learning experience. The novelty of this study lies in proposing a systematic and integrated digital learning model that bridges theoretical concepts and practical application through interactive simulations and gamification. This research contributes academically by enriching the literature on digital higher education in Indonesia and offers practical implications for developing adaptive curricula and data-driven instructional designs that foster active student engagement in the digital era.
