Abstract

This study investigates the interrelationship between TikTok addiction, perceived social support, and academic stress among university students in Surakarta. Grounded in the stress-buffering framework, the research explores the direct and indirect effects of compulsive TikTok use on academic stress, with social support examined as a mediating variable. A cross-sectional design was employed, using purposive sampling to collect data from 452 TikTok users enrolled in higher education. TikTok addiction, social support, and academic stress were measured using adapted and validated scales. Structural equation modelling with SmartPLS revealed that TikTok addiction significantly increases academic stress, while social support reduces it. Interestingly, TikTok use was positively associated with perceived social support, though its mediating role in buffering academic stress was limited. The findings underscore the complex psychosocial dynamics of digital behavior and suggest that enhancing social support systems may help mitigate the academic strain associated with social media overuse.

Abstract

Rukun Makmur Waste Bank, as a newly established social organization, faced challenges in determining its strategic direction due to the absence of clearly defined vision, mission, and organizati onal values. This issue became the basis for conducting a community service program in the form of counseling and assistance in formula ting the organization’s vision, mission, and values. The activity was carried out through three stages: preparation, implementation, and reporting. The preparation stage included organizational needs analysis and the development of mentoring materials. The implement ation stage was conducted through interactive counseling and participatory assistance to explore the organization’s core values using the framework proposed by Collins and Porras. Furthermore, the reporting stage was conducted as a form of documenting the activity outcomes. The results of the program showed that the organization successfully formulated an initial draft consisting of core values, core purpose, long-term vision, and a future description of the organization. results are expected to serve as strategic guide lines for organization’s development and sustainability in the future.

Abstract

Rural culinary MSMEs frequently face structural constraints in production efficiency, packaging standardization, and technological literacy, limiting their competitiveness in tourism-based markets. This community service program aimed to strengthen production capacity and hygienic packaging practices within the Witpari Culinary MSME Community in Kemuning Village, Karanganyar. The intervention provided two spinner oil-draining machines and five heat sealer units, supported by participatory technical training and mentoring approaches aligned with Participatory Action Research (PAR) principles. A participatory action research framework was applied through needs assessment, intervention design, hands-on implementation, and evaluation using pre-test and post-test instruments. Baseline results revealed low mechanized production literacy (mean score 42.5/100). After intervention, the mean score increased to 81.3/100, with 85% of participants demonstrating independent operational competency. The program resulted in reduced oil residue, improved packaging durability, increased product professionalism, and enhanced technological self-efficacy among participants. Findings confirm that small-scale appropriate technology combined with structured mentoring significantly enhances operational literacy, standardization, and competitiveness of rural MSMEs.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mendampingi guru di TK BA Aisyiyah Baki dalam melakukan transisi pencatatan keuangan dari sistem manual ke sistem digital sederhana berbasis excel. Permasalahan utama yang dihadapi oleh mitra yakni pencatatan keuangan yang masih dilakukan secara manual dan satu orang bendahara yang mengerjakan keuangan yang akan memasuki masa pensiun. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan menggunakan pendekatan partisipatif dan pendampingan secara langsung yang diawali dengan asesmen kebutuhan mitra, penyusunan format pencatatan keuangan dan laporan keuangan bulanan berbasis excel, pelatihan, serta pendampingan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa pasca pendampingan, TK BA Aisyiyah mulai menerapkan sistem pencatatan keuangan paralel yakni pencatatan manual tetap dilakukan oleh bendahara dan pencatatan digital berbasis excel dibantu oleh dua orang guru yang lebih muda. Selain itu, format laporan keuangan bulanan berbasis excel dinilai memudahkan pengelola sekolah dalam mengetahui pemasukan dan pengeluaran setiap bulan sehingga proses evaluasi terkait keuangan dapat dilakukan secara lebih sistematis. Kegiatan ini mendorong terjadinya alih pengetahuan secara bertahap, meningkatkan keteraturan pencatatan keuangan, serta mengurangi risiko keberlanjutan pengelolaan keuangan sekolah. Pendekatan pendampingan ini dinilai efektif karena menyesuaikan dengan kesiapan sumber daya manusia mitra dan kondisi riil yang terjadi di sekolah. Kegiatan ini diharapkan menjadi langkah awal dalam penguatan tata kelola dan sistem pelaporan sekolah.

Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between TikTok addiction and academic performance among university students, with academic procrastination examined as a mediating variable. Grounded in self-escape theory, the research explores how excessive TikTok use may act as a maladaptive coping mechanism that contributes to procrastinatory behaviors, ultimately affecting academic outcomes. This study used a cross-sectional design and data collected from 287 students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta through an online questionnaire. The analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that TikTok addiction has no significant direct effect on academic performance. However, it significantly increases academic procrastination, which in turn negatively affects academic performance. The mediation analysis confirmed that academic procrastination plays a key intermediary role in the relationship between TikTok use and academic success.
