Abstract

One of the constraints that occur in the mooring system of SPM is the breaking of chain line caused by its inability to accept work load.In this problem, it is necessary to analize the tension line of SPM catenary anchor leg mooring (CALM) type on aframax tanker. The purpose of this research is to know the movement response of structure and the maximum tension chain line. The largest response amplitude operator (RAO) obtained when SPM moored on Aframax Tanker in the conditions of translational movement heave by 0.986 (m/m) on heading of 0° and 135 º. The largest response of the structure obtained when SPM moored on Aframax Tanker in the conditions of translational movement heave by 17.44 m²/(rad/s) on heading of 180 º. The greatest tension chain line is 2424873 N with the results of chain line tension still meets the safety factor in accordance with the standard API RP 2SK 2nd edition. The analysis results of chain line power structure is 155.42 MPa, if the dimension of chain line is reduced by 0,2 mm/year in a space of 13 year time then the stress obtained is 169,67 Mpa, and with estimation of 30 year time the value of stress obtained is 238,82 Mpa.

Abstract

Dalam fabrikasi logam, plasma cutting sangat penting karena menawarkan hasil potongan yang presisi, efisien dan fleksibel. Salah satu parameter kritis dalam plasma cutting yaitu cutting speed. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu membandingkan kualitas hasil potong (cut quality) pada material mild steel dengan ketebalan 8 mm. Variasi cutting speed yang diteliti meliputi 3000 mm/min, 4000 mm/min, 5000 mm/min, dan 6000 mm/min. Pengamatan cut quality dilakukan secara visual dan pengukuran kedalaman hasil potongan menggunakan vernier caliper. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa pada parameter cutting speed 3000 mm/min menghasilkan cut quality terbaik. Pada variasi cutting speed yang rendah menghasilkan cut quality yang baik karena plasma memiliki waktu yang cukup untuk penetrasi dan memotong material dengan bersih.

Abstract

Salah satu potensi alam Indonesia yang sangat besar adalah sumberdaya kelautan dan perikanan. Sumberdaya kelautan merupakan salah satu aset pembangunan yang penting dan memiliki peluang sangat besar untuk dijadikan sebagai sumber pertumbuhan perekonomian. Saat ini sektor kelautan dan perikanan di Kabupaten Bintan memiliki potensi pembangunan ekonomi yang sangat besar dan beragam. Kabupaten Bintan merupakan salah satu kabupaten di Provinsi Kepulauan Riau yang memiliki setidaknya 240 pulau-pulau kecil serta memiliki sumber daya pesisir dan laut yang sangat potensial. Penulisan ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa kondisi kehidupan nelayan tangkap Kabupaten Bintan dari aspek sosial, ekonomi serta mengidentifikasi bentuk-bentuk program pemberdayaan yang diberikan oleh pemerintah beserta hambatan yang terjadi dalam pelaksanaan program. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Sumber data yang diambil merupakan data dari Badan Pusat Statistik Kabupaten Bintan Kepulauan Riau. Program pemberdayaan diharap dapat digunakan sebagai penunjang utama sebagai layanan dalam meningkatkan potensi dalam upaya peningkatan ekonomi dan sosial pada nelayan tangkap. Beberapa program merupakan upaya dalam meningkatkan program layanan pemberdayaan nelayan tangkap di Kabupaten Bintan. Selain itu juga diperlukanya komitmen untuk meningkatkan potensi serta dampak dari kegiatan program pemberdayaan untuk nelayan tangkap dalam upaya meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat di Kabupaten Bintan Kepulauan Riau.

Abstract

Abrasi pesisir laut adalah salah satu permasalahan serius yang terjadi karna gelombang laut di wilayah pesisir, perubahan iklim, serta aktivitas manusia yang merusak keseimbangan ekosistem, seperti penebangan hutan mangrove. Abrasi menyebabkan terkikisnya daratan di pesisir laut, sehingga mempengaruhi aksesibilitas masyarakat ke wilayah pesisir dan mengancam keberadaan kawasan hutan mangrove sebagai pelindung alami pantai. Akibat dari abrasi tersebut, kawasan mangrove memiliki peran yang sangat penting bagi masyarakat di sekitar pesisir sebagai penahan gelombang, penstabil garis pantai, dan tempat hidup berbagai jenis biota laut. Namun, medan kawasan mangrove yang tergenang air, berlumpur, dan tertutup hal ini sanagat menyulitkan mobilitas, terutama bagi masyarakat lokal, petugas konservasi, maupun peneliti yang ingin melakukan kegiatan perlindungan dan rehabilitasi mangrove. Karena hal ini, pembuatan perahu di kawasan mangrove sebagai alat transportasi menjadi solusi penting dalam mendukung aktivitas akibat abrasi. Perahu dapat digunakan untuk mempermudah akses menuju wilayah mangrove untuk mempercepat proses penanaman kembali (reboisasi), pengawasan, serta pengangkutan bahan dan alat tanpa harus merusak yang ada. Selain itu, pengembangan dan penggunaan perahu juga dapat memberdayakan masyarakat pesisir, menciptakan peluang usaha, dan mendukung kegiatan ekowisata mangrove secara berkelanjutan. Oleh karena itu, pembangunan perahu yang ramah lingkungan dan sesuai kondisi ekosistem sangat penting untuk mengatasi dampak abrasi serta menjaga kelestarian kawasan mangrove.

Abstract

Improving seal production output requires productivity enhancements that increase the efficiency and effectiveness of both machinery and tooling. One of the main issues was identified in the auto contour lapping machine, particularly in the lapping pot, which was considered ineffective and inefficient in its application. This condition resulted in low production output, longer processing times, and increased material waste due to the use of rubber-based lapping pots. To overcome these limitations, an improved lapping pot was designed and manufactured using 3D printing technology, replacing rubber with filament material to reduce production waste. This study focuses on the design, fabrication, and feasibility evaluation of the improved lapping pot through direct implementation in the production process. Performance evaluation included visual inspection, free height measurement, and surface quality inspection of the seals. The results show that the improved lapping pot is suitable for production use and significantly enhances productivity. By accommodating four seals in a single lapping pot, the processing time was reduced by a total of 75 seconds per cycle. Consequently, production output increased fourfold from 144 seals per hour to 576 seals per hour, while the seal quality remained consistent and met customer-required dimensions and specifications.

Abstract

The maritime industry generally recruits vocational graduates who possess specific skills, such as technical drawing and proficiency in Computer-Aided Design software. However, some vocational high school students still have limitations in industry-based drafter practice and the use of CAD software. This community service activity aims to improve the basic competencies of vocational high school students as ship construction technical drafters through structured CAD training. The activity was held at Politeknik Negeri Batam on 7–10 October 2025, involving 26 participants from SMKS Kartini Batam and SMKS Al Jabar Batam, consisting of students and accompanying teachers. The implementation methods included theoretical instruction, demonstrations, hands-on practice, simple industry-based case studies, and intensive mentoring. The training materials covered an introduction to ship construction, basic CAD usage, basic object creation, dynamic input, editing tools, orthographic drawing, dimensioning, templates, plotting, and an introduction to three-dimensional CAD. Evaluation was conducted through a pre-test, post-test, and participant satisfaction questionnaire. The results showed an improvement in participants’ understanding and basic skills in the field of ship construction drafting. Based on the questionnaire results, 95.8% of participants strongly agreed that the training materials were useful, 87.5% strongly agreed that the materials were relevant to their needs, and 87.5% strongly agreed that their knowledge and skills improved after participating in the training. Therefore, this training was effective in strengthening basic CAD-based drafting competencies and supporting vocational high school students’ readiness to meet the needs of the maritime industry.

Abstract

In the world of machinery maintenance, auxiliary equipment is needed that can facilitate work in the field of technology and engineering. Wrench tool are included in the category of hand tools that are often used in the world of maintenance. In the use of wrench tool, there are many problems regarding the design model and strength structure of several types of materials used. In general, wrench tool use Chrome Vanadium Steel (AISI 6150) material. In this study, there is one type of wrench tool that has been modified both in form and function through a project-based learning (PBL) learning scheme. A statistical analysis approach using the finite element method (FEM) was carried out with variations in three types of materials. The types of materials are Chromium-Vanadium Steel (AISI 6150), Chromium-Boron Steel (AISI O1), and ASSAB DF2 Steel. ASSAB DF2 Steel material shows the most optimal mechanical characteristics, in terms of stress value of 10.13 MPa, low displacement of 0.029 mm, a high safety factor, with a value of 68.1, and the longest fatigue life with 3.76 × 10⁵ cycles. Therefore, the combination of the new design and ASSAB DF2 Steel material is considered the most suitable for application to wrench tool that require strength, security, and long-term durability as the most effective solution to improve the structural performance and reliability of wrench tool based on simulation results using SolidWorks software
