Abstract

This study examines the planning of a raw water catchment structure for the drinking water supply system (SPAM) of IKK Abuki, Konawe Regency. The problem in this study is that the existing intake of SPAM IKK Abuki was damaged due to flooding and the existing system uses pumping which requires high operational costs, therefore it is necessary to plan a raw water catchment structure in another location that is more effective. The purpose of this study is to obtain raw water sources in other locations that meet the quality and quantity requirements and to obtain a design for a raw water catchment structure. The method used to determine the quality of raw water is by bringing raw water samples to the laboratory for testing while for water quantity using the floating object method and current meter tools, for the design of the raw water catchment using literature studies, field measurements and autocad software. The results of this study indicate that the quality of the raw water source in the Lambute River meets the requirements for raw water sources with the characteristics of odorless, tasteless, color 5 TCU, TDS 30 mg/L, turbidity 10.5 NTU, temperature 27°C, pH 8.39, DO 5.35 mg/L. Meanwhile, for the quantity, the water discharge results obtained using the floating object method were 89 L/sec. and the current meter method was 27 L/sec., for the clean water needs of Abuki District in the next 10 years it requires 25.60 L/sec. so that the Lambute River discharge is sufficient to be used as a raw water source. The design of the raw water catchment has dimensions of 1.5 m in length, 1.5 m in width, and 1 m in height.

Abstract

The need for clean water in mosques, especially for ablution water needs, is something that needs to be addressed. Lack of clean water during the dry season can be a problem for some mosques, such as the Al-Mu'minin mosque which experiences a shortage of groundwater volume during the dry season and groundwater becomes a little smelly. This study aims to determine the potential of rainwater through hydrological analysis and can plan a rainwater harvesting system at the Al-Mu'minin mosque. The results obtained are the amount of water needed for ablution at the Al-Mu'minin mosque is as much as 6.97 m3/day or equivalent to 209.11 m3/month. This result is obtained from the calculation of the number of worshipers per day with the need for ablution water per prayer time, which is 4.42 liters/person. Next, a hydrological analysis was calculated and the result was 45.51 mm/hour of rain intensity, which was then used to calculate the volume of rainwater that could be accommodated so that the result was 7.81 m3/day or equivalent to 234.3 m3/month. Based on the calculation results, the piping system used is 4 inches for horizontal pipes and 3 inches for standpipes.

Abstract

The large number of Muslim populations in Indonesia cannot be separated from religious activities, one of which is prayer. Before performing prayers, a Muslim first performs ablution using water. With this activity, it will produce a large amount of wastewater in the Al-Mu'minin mosque itself, which can produce ablution water waste of 685.1 L/day with the results of laboratory tests carried out on the quality of groundwater pH 7.84, TSS 38.8 mg/L and turbidity. 6.40 NT in the analysis of the quality of ablution water waste showed that it had exceeded the quality standard, namely TSS 68 mg/L and turbidity was 5 NTU, while the analysis of filtered ablution water waste showed a decrease in levels, namely pH 7.55, TSS 18.70 mg/L and turbidity 3.18 NTU. From the calculation results, the volume of wastewater produced by the mosque is 0.6851 m3/day using a treatment unit in the form of an initial sedimentation tank which has a volume size (Length = 84 cm, Width = 76 cm and Height = 101 cm), a simple filter using media in the form of (Gravel, Sand, Palm Fibers, Charcoal and Sponge) each has a height of 15 cm and the final reservoir has a volume (Length = 84 cm, Width = 76 cm and Height = 101 cm).
