Abstract

Poverty is a constant humanitarian problem spanning the history of human civilization. Despite the rapid development of modernization instruments and material progress, the distributive inequality of wealth continues to generate striking disparities. This study aims to formulate a comprehensive Quranic conception of poverty using the Tafsir Maudhu'i (thematic) approach. The focus of the study is directed at three main pillars: the semantic nature of poverty terms (specifically the term miskin), the causal factors of poverty, and the integrative solutions offered by the Quran. The results of the analysis show that the word miskin is rooted in the meaning of stillness or lack of movement (sakana), indicating an economic helplessness that leaves an individual "paralyzed" in meeting primary needs. The Quran views poverty not merely as a problem of material deprivation, but as a manifestation of structural inequality, personal laziness, and the neglect of moral-spiritual values. To address this problem, the Quran formulates a multi-dimensional approach that includes the optimization of financial obligations (zakat), the regulation of socio-religious sanctions (kafarat), the strengthening of communal solidarity (infaq, sedekah, fidyah), and a productive work ethos. The holistic implementation of Quranic insights is capable of transforming the socio-economic order toward justice oriented around maslahah (the public good).

Abstract

This article explores the dynamics of tafs?r bi al-ra’yi as a Qur’anic hermeneutical approach that integrates rational capacity (?aql) within a rigorous epistemological framework of tafsir. The study aims to elaborate the fundamental concept of tafs?r bi al-ra’yi, to distinguish its classification into commendable (mamd??a) and blameworthy (ma?m?m) forms, and to map the methodological prerequisites required for its proper application. Employing a qualitative-descriptive research design based on library research, this study synthesizes data from authoritative primary sources and supporting literature within the disciplines of Qur’anic studies and u??l al-fiqh. The findings affirm that tafs?r bi al-ra’yi does not represent a liberalized, purely subjective mode of interpretation, but rather constitutes a legitimate form of ijtihad when conducted in accordance with Arabic linguistic principles, Shar??ah norms, and the contextual framework of revelation. This article underscores the urgency of regulating the authority of reason in Qur’anic interpretation to ensure scholarly validity while preserving the authenticity of the divine message.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the lexical meanings of the Qur’ānic terms khauf and khasyyah in the Arabic lexicographical tradition, examine their usage in Qur’ānic verses through the perspective of Tafsir Bayānī, and identify their similarities and differences through a comparative semantic analysis. This research employs a library research method using a semantic approach and the perspective of Tafsir Bayānī. The primary data consist of Qur’ānic verses containing the terms khauf and khasyyah, along with their interpretations in selected Qur’ānic commentaries, while the secondary data are drawn from Arabic lexicographical works and relevant scholarly literature. The data were analyzed using a descriptive-comparative method to explore the lexical meanings, contextual meanings, and semantic relationships of the two terms. The findings indicate that khauf refers to fear arising as a response to threats, punishment, or undesirable consequences, whereas khasyyah denotes fear rooted in knowledge, reverence, and awareness of Allah's greatness. The Tafsir Bayānī analysis demonstrates that the Qur’ān employs these two terms deliberately in accordance with their respective semantic contexts. Although both are commonly translated as "fear," khauf and khasyyah are not absolute synonyms and therefore cannot be used interchangeably in every Qur’ānic context. These findings highlight the precision of the Qur’ān's lexical choices as one of the manifestations of its linguistic inimitability.

Abstract

Background: Nurse performance plays a crucial role in the success of healthcare. However, nurses' performance can be affected by conflicts in the workplace, including intergenerational conflicts arising from differences in age, experience, and communication styles. Conflicts that are not managed properly have the potential to reduce teamwork and the quality of nursing services. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between conflict management and the performance of multigenerational nurses at Haji Makassar Hospital. Methods: This study used a quantitative research design with a cross-sectional approach. The variables in this study are: conflict management as an independent variable and nurse performance as a dependent variable. The sampling technique used was non-probability sampling with the total sampling method. The sample consisted of 80 nurses who met the inclusion criteria. Data were collected using a questionnaire on conflict management and nurse performance and analyzed using the Somers'D statistical test. Results: The results showed that most of the multigenerational nurses had good conflict management (62.5%), and most also showed good performance (73.8%). The Somers'D statistical test revealed a p value of 0.020 (p < 0.05), which showed a significant relationship between conflict management and the performance of multigenerational nurses at Haji Makassar Hospital. Conclusion: This study shows that effective conflict management contributes to improved performance of multigenerational nurses. Therefore, strengthening conflict management strategies through improved intergenerational communication and teamwork is needed to support the quality of nursing services.
