Abstract

This research aims to find out how was the implementation of The English Club program, especially for non-English department students in Nahdlatul Ulama Sidoarjo University (UNUSIDA), as well as to know about the obstacles during the implementation. This research is a qualitative descriptive research, to collect the data, this research used interviews, observations and documentation. The data analysis technique used is qualitative data analysis, namely data collection, data reduction and conclusion. The results showed that English Club, has four main activities, namely English Conversation, English Course, English Fest and Creative Writing. The success of the implementation program can be seen through four aspects such as; kind of programs, material, Tutor quality, and learning environment. The data research showed that 75% respondents strongly agree that the implementation of English club programs has succeed. There are some obstacles of the implementation of English club programs such as; Sidoarjo is the red zone of Covid-19 pandemic, so several program cannot run well. It is difficult to arrange the schedule which should be suitable for all the members from different program study. The last is the busyness of English Club members with other activities outside the English Club.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dengan judul pelatihan penggunaan aplikasi quizizz bagi guru MI Nurul Islam Wonokalang Wonoayu Sidoarjo. Kegiatan ini berlangsung selama dua hari bertempat di ruang aula MI MI Nurul Islam Wonokalang Wonoayu. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah memberikan wawasan pengetahuan dan keterampilan terkait dengan pembuatan kuis menggunakan aplikasi quizizz. Sasaran kegiatan ini adalah semua guru kelas I s.d VI MI Nurul Islam Wonokalang Wonoayu Sidoarjo sejumlah 12 orang peserta. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah metode pengarahan, diskusi, tanya jawab, praktik secara langsung di lapangan, dan pendampingan. Para peserta sangat antusias mengikuti kegiatan ini karena sebagian besar guru belum pernah membuat kuis menggunakan aplikasi quizizz. Setelah mengikuti kegiatan ini para peserta diharapkan dapat membuat kuis sesuai dengan materi yang diajarkan pada peserta didik.

Abstract

Abstrak Kajian ini membahas tentang 3 dosa besar pendidikan yang banyak pelajar di Indonesia belum mengetahui apa itu 3 dosa besar dalam dunia pendidikan. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah menganalisis dan menemukan cara pencegahan 3 dosa besar dalam pendidikan peserta didik SDN Banjar Kemuning. Metode kegiatan ini menggunakan metode ceramah (presentasi) untuk memberikan penyuluhan materi pada peserta didik SDN Banjar Kemuning. Kegiatan sosialisasi ini bertujuan untuk membantu peserta didik memahami pemahaman mereka tentang tiga dosa besar dan dampak negatifnya, serta menawarkan solusi praktis untuk mendukung pengembangan kepribadian peserta didik secara sempurna. Sosialisasi ini melibatkan 75 peserta didik mulai dari kelas 2 sampai 6. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan pada hari Kamis, 3 Agustus 2023 secara langsung tatap muka. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil belajar mahasiswa jurusan bahasa Inggris dalam mata kuliah listening II yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan media audio visual. Metode penelitian yang digunakan ialah deskriptif kuantitatif, untuk menjabarkan dan mengukur sejauh mana pengaruh penggunaan media audio visual terhadap hasil pembelajaran mata kuliah listening pada mahasiswa semester II (dua), tahun akademik 2014/2015, Jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris, FKIP UMSU. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meneliti pengaruh penggunaan media audiovisual dan mengantisipasi kelemahan-kelemahan yang dimilikinya agar dapat menjadi alternatif teknik dalam pengajaran listening. Berdasarkan nilai t-uji, ditemukan tobserve = 9.39. Itu berarti bahwa terdapat pengaruh pada penerapan media audiovisual terhadap pengajaran listening pada mahasiswa Jurusan Bahasa Inggris FKIP UMSU.

Abstract

This study uses a descriptive qualitative method, using observation and interview instruments. The results of the data analysis show that the implementation of the Presentation, Practice, Production (PPP) model has three stages. Each phase has different roles, activities, and models, in the presentation phase, the teacher introduces new language to students, done by using pictures or reading text. In the practice phase, students practice the new language in the control language. In the production phase, students are encouraged to use the new language in a freer way with communication tasks or creating paragraphs. The use of recount texts in learning is very useful, especially for training students' speaking skills. Although some students have difficulty in pronunciation, the Presentation, Practice, Production (PPP) model helps them be motivated to speak with teacher guidance, so that they can speak English better gradually. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan instrumen observasi dan wawancara. Hasil dari analisis data menunjukkan bahwa implementasi model Presentation, Practice, Production (PPP) ada tiga tahap. Setiap fase memiliki peran, aktivitas, dan model yang berbeda, dalam fase presentasi, guru memperkenalkan bahasa baru kepada siswa, dilakukan dengan menggunakan gambar atau membaca teks. Pada fase latihan, siswa mempraktikkan bahasa baru dalam bahasa kontrol. Pada tahap produksi, siswa didorong untuk menggunakan bahasa baru dengan cara yang lebih bebas dilakukan dengan tugas komunikasi atau membuat paragraf. Penggunaan teks recount dalam pembelajaran sangat bermanfaat, terutama untuk melatih kemampuan berbicara siswa. Meskipun beberapa siswa kesulitan dalam pengucapan, model Presentation, Practice, Production (PPP) membantu mereka termotivasi berbicara dengan bimbingan guru, sehingga mereka dapat berbicara bahasa Inggris dengan lebih baik secara bertahap.

Abstract

This article is about developing mathematics learning materials related to the Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (PMRI) approach for teaching the circle topic, with a focus on enhancing sixth-grade students’ conceptual understanding of π (Pi) at MI Ma’arif Pagerwojo. The development followed the ADDIE instructional design model. The research instruments included expert validation sheets, lesson implementation observation sheets, response questionnaires, and achievement tests. Based on expert validation, two validators rated the teaching module at 95.5% and 92.6%, the student worksheet (LKPD) at 91.6% and 94%, and the learning outcome test at 85% and 90% all falling within the "highly valid" category. Observation results of lesson implementation by both teacher and students yielded scores of 90% and 87.5%, respectively, while teacher and student response questionnaires reached 93.7% and 87%. It shows that the developed learning materials are highly practical. The effectiveness also has been proved, as 80% of students met the minimum mastery criterion (KKM), satisfying the criterion for classical completeness. These findings demonstrate that PMRI-based materials effectively facilitate students’ meaningful understanding of π through contextual learning activities. Moreover, the context of this study focused on developing instructional materials at the primary school level remains underexplored in educational development research. Thus, this study may serve as a reference for broader international mathematics education, particularly since PMRI aligns closely with the principles of Realistic Mathematics Education (RME).

Abstract

This article describes the potential and utilization of clam shell waste with 3P training (Cleaning, Making, and Selling) as an alternative to making various decorative handicrafts. Clam shell waste, which is generally ignored, has the potential to be utilized as raw material in various industries. This article focuses on practical steps in integrating the 3P concept in the management of this waste. In addition to reducing shell waste, kerrang shells can also improve the economy as they have aesthetic value and economic value. In the Cleaning stage, efforts are made to clean and sort the shells from other materials. This step is important to ensure the quality of the raw materials produced. Next, at the manufacturing stage, the shells enter the assembly process to produce craft products. The last stage is selling the shell products online and in e-commerce. The target of this training activity is PKK women in Banjar Kemuning village.
