Abstract

A continuously growing population day by day means that the need for water is also increasing. The majority of the Botumoputi Village community uses groundwater every day through dug wells and drilled wells for their daily needs. The purpose of the study was to determine the subsurface geological conditions that can be used as a reference in estimating the location, thickness, depth and type of aquifer. The method used is the resistivity geoelectric method using the Schlumberger configuration. Measurements were carried out at 3 points with a span length of 300 m each. Data processing and interpretation using software IPI2win. The results of processing Schlumberger configuration geoelectric data and subsurface geological interpretation to identify the type of groundwater aquifer in the Botumoputi area show 3 layers of rock types based on their resistivity values, namely top soil, clay and sand. It is estimated that the potential for groundwater is found in TS1 and TS2 where the lithology that acts as an aquifer is sandstone with a resistivity value of 16.8 - 42.7 ohms with a depth ranging from 3.93 - 17.2 m with a thickness of 8.88 - 13.27 m and is interpreted as a shallow aquifer.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and understand the geological characteristics and groundwater aquifer potential in the study area. The research methods employed include surface geological mapping, borehole data interpretation, as well as lithology and structural geology analysis. The results indicate that the geological formations in the study area are predominantly composed of sedimentary and volcanic rocks with significant lithological variations, such as sandstone, claystone, and tuff. The identified geological structures, including folds and faults, influence the distribution of aquifers and groundwater flow. Aquifers in the study area are categorized into unconfined and confined aquifers, with the highest potential found in sandstone layers due to their high porosity and permeability. These findings are expected to serve as an important foundation for the sustainable management of groundwater resources in the study area.

Abstract

Abstract

The Suka Damai area and its surroundings in Bilato District, Gorontalo Regency, exhibit diverse geological conditions, encompassing landforms, lithology, and geological structures. This study aims to characterize the geological conditions of the research area based on geomorphological, stratigraphic, and structural aspects. The methodology employed includes surface geological mapping—involving field observations of geomorphology and lithology and lineament analysis using DEM-NAS imagery. The results indicate that the research area comprises three geomorphological units: Alluvial Plains, Denudational Hills, and Volcanic Hills. The stratigraphy consists of Sandy Mudstone, Sandstone, and Andesite Porphyry units. Lineament analysis reveals a general northeast–southwest trend, while the observed geological structure consists of rock bedding. The study provides an overview of the area's geological conditions based on its geomorphological, stratigraphic, and structural characteristics.

Abstract

Dambalo Village, Tomilito District, North Gorontalo Regency, Gorontalo Province, is the designated research area listed in the administrative records. The main objectives of this research are to determine the surface and subsurface geology, understand the geological conditions of the research area, and analyze the cross-section of subsurface geological layers. The study employs the Schlumberger configuration geoelectric method to examine the subsurface geological cross-section. The researchers used a combination of geological surveys and subsurface data surveys, collecting data on surface geological features, outcrop observations, and resistivity measurements. The research area features a single landform unit, the denudational plain, and its stratigraphy includes a lithostratigraphic unit, Volcanic Breccia. The study area comprises four rock layers: the first layer is topsoil (passive clay), the second layer is sand, the third layer is breccia, and the fourth layer is sand. These conclusions are supported by geological and geoelectric data, demonstrating the effectiveness of integrating surface and subsurface surveys to provide a comprehensive understanding of the geological structure.
