Abstract

Globalization and rapid economic growth encourage companies to implement effective and sustainable management practices to remain competitive in a dynamic business environment. One strategic approach to improving company performance is good corporate governance (“GCG”) which is an important element in achieving sustainable growth and improving financial performance. The implementation of good GCG is believed to have a positive impact on the company's financial performance, through increased transparency and accountability, making it easier for stakeholders, including investors, to assess the health of a company. In Indonesia, the implementation of GCG is a major focus to increase public trust, especially after several cases of management failures that resulted in significant financial losses. The regulations implemented by the Financial Services Authority (“OJK”) aim to strengthen supervision so that companies comply with international standards. However, there are still challenges in implementing consistency across sectors. This study uses qualitative methods to understand in depth how the implementation of GCG affects a company's financial performance as well as its supporting and inhibiting factors. This research is expected to help companies in Indonesia in developing more effective strategies to achieve long-term business goals and create sustainable added value for all stakeholders.

Abstract

This article explores the strategic roles of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and Bank Indonesia (BI) in supervising and enforcing regulations within the banking sector to ensure the stability of the national financial system. Bank Indonesia, as the central bank, holds primary responsibility for controlling inflation, enhancing production efficiency, and fostering employment growth through well-directed monetary policies. Meanwhile, OJK focuses on integrated oversight across the financial services sector, including banking, capital markets, and non-bank financial institutions, using risk-based and compliance-based supervision approaches. In addressing modern challenges, such as the increasing complexity of banking operations and advancements in financial technology, adaptive regulatory reforms, enhanced supervisory capabilities, and advanced technological tools are essential. Interagency coordination and public participation are critical factors in strengthening oversight, safeguarding the banking sector, and supporting sustainable national economic stability.

Abstract

In the modern digital era, technological developments have driven major changes in the banking industry, enabling people to carry out convenient and efficient online transactions. This progress increases the tendency of people to save money in banks for the security of their assets, because the banking system is considered safer with the support of supervision by institutions such as the Financial Services Authority (OJK). Banks not only function as depositors of funds, but also play an important role in national economic growth through providing access to financing, lending and distributing monetary policy. Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI), as one of the sharia-based banks in Indonesia, has adopted digital banking to strengthen services to customers according to sharia principles. Supervision of digital banks, especially by the OJK and Bank Indonesia, aims to protect customers through strict regulations regarding data security, transparency and fair treatment. In the case of cyber attacks such as ransomware that hit BSI, this security challenge shows the importance of increasing coordination between OJK, the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN), and related institutions to speed up response and recovery. This case underscores the importance of evaluating regulations and increasing the effectiveness of OJK supervision, especially in preparedness to face cyber threats, technology investment and customer education in digital banking

Abstract

Measuring the effectiveness of centralizing coal mineral mining licensing in Indonesia is important for conducting research to measure the success of business actors in obtaining business certainty. There are indications of failure to centralize Indonesian coal mineral mining licensing, which can hamper the business being operated and reduce the trust of business actors in the Indonesian Government. This type of research is normative juridical research using second party data such as articles and laws and regulations up to court decisions which are then presented in descriptive form. The novelty of this research that distinguishes it from previous research is the analysis of ministerial-level regulations and legal processes carried out by several business actors at the State Administrative Court Institution to obtain business certainty. The results showed that several business actors to obtain certainty of license implementation such as PT Perdana Maju Utama, PT Fajar Bahari, PT Mandiri Biofuels, PT Sri Mulya Agung, PT Garuda Agung Perkasa, and CV Siti Maju Sejahtera, did not go well which was marked by filing a lawsuit at the State Administrative Court Institution to the Government of Indonesia, so that the non-implementation of centralization of mineral and coal mining licenses was not only carried out by business actors but also by the State as the licensor.

Abstract

The enactment of Law Number 20 of 2025 concerning the Indonesian Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP) has introduced various changes to Indonesia’s criminal justice system, particularly regarding the strengthening of the rights of suspects and defendants, the guilty plea mechanism, the implementation of restorative justice, and the regulation of ordinary and summary trial procedures. These changes require greater procedural legal literacy, particularly among correctional inmates, to enable them to understand their legal status, rights, and the procedural options available throughout the criminal justice process. This community service activity aimed to improve the understanding of correctional inmates at the Class I Depok State Detention Center regarding preparations for criminal trial proceedings under the new Criminal Procedure Code. Particular emphasis was placed on the rights of suspects and defendants, the stages of criminal proceedings, access to legal assistance, and available case-resolution mechanisms. The activity involved 36 correctional inmates and was conducted through interactive lectures and question-and-answer discussions supported by instructional materials. The topics covered included the right to legal representation by an advocate and the possibility of resolving cases through restorative justice. The results demonstrated that the participants gained a better understanding of the stages of criminal trial proceedings, their procedural rights, and the importance of obtaining legal assistance when facing criminal proceedings. The interactive discussions also indicated an improvement in the participants’ ability to identify legal issues related to their position as individuals involved in the criminal justice process.
