Abstract

Abstract. Tourism contributes to climate change, mainly through its emissions. Lembang sub-district has 36.58% of tourist attractions in West Bandung Regency, causing congestion, waste production, and air quality degradation that increase carbon emissions. Tourist activities, such as electricity use, transportation, waste, and food consumption, exacerbate these conditions. The research used mixed method with primary and secondary data, as well as multiple linear regression analysis and comparison of RTRW documents with existing conditions. Linear regression results show tourist transportation as the largest contributor to CO2 emissions with a coefficient of 0.832. Comparative analysis shows the RTRW does not explicitly address climate change and there are differences in the extent and location of land use in Lembang Sub-district. To reduce the impact of climate change, especially from tourist transportation, efforts can be made such as reducing traffic volume, switching to electric vehicles, using public transportation, improving public transportation services, establishing subsidized transportation tariff policies, and providing special tourist transport.

Abstract

Abstract

The Mount Ciremai area plays a strategic role for districts/cities in Metropolitan Cirebon Raya (MCR). This area is a catchment area that functions as a hydrological cycle controller, and has several springs in the Mount Ciremai area that have been used by the community for agricultural irrigation, household clean water, fisheries, and industrial activities at MCR. So far, the management of water resources has encountered several problems, one of which is the lack of clarity in the division of roles and policies and rules for managing water resources in the area. Many parties have an interest in its management and utilization. For this reason, inter-regional cooperation in the MCR area in terms of utilization of water environmental services is needed and important to study. This study aims to identify a model of inter-regional cooperation that can be applied in the Greater Cirebon Metropolitan Area in the utilization of water environmental services in the Mount Ciremai area based on transaction cost theory. This study uses a descriptive quantitative-qualitative approach by providing judgments based on criteria. The data was obtained based on the results of a desk study from the literature and secondary data, as well as interviews with relevant stakeholders. The results of the analysis show that the three identified cooperation models and the coordination forum cooperation model are the optimal models assessed based on the factors that cause transaction costs.

Abstract

Abstrack. Mining activities leave a lot of abandoned and unproductive land. Hence, the local government and the community rehabilitate and reuse ex-mining land to be more productive through tourism development. This study measures the benefits of tourism development under ex-mines to the community's socioeconomic and environmental sustainability based on the assessment of local communities as beneficiaries. This study takes the case of ex-mining tourism development, Aik Rusa' Berehun in Terong Village, Belitung Regency, Indonesia. This study used a quantitative approach using scoring methods and descriptive statistical analysis to explain an accurate and factual result based on community judgment. The data was processed from the results of a questionnaire of 95 respondents who were selected by random sampling with a proportional number representing each neighborhood unit around tourist areas. This study concludes that the development of ex-mining tourism has a high effect on improving the socioeconomic conditions of local communities and the environment around ex-mining lands. Indirectly, tourism development influence increased income, business opportunities, facilities, and infrastructure to support socioeconomic activities, and then the preservation of local culture as well as the environment under ex-mines. Moreover, this benefit is obtained because it is collaboration and community empowerment. Even so, these tourism activities are still an alternative economic activity for rural communities, and farming, gardening, and sailing are the main income. Thus, alternative tourism innovations involving main community activities are needed to create a larger multiplier effect.
