Abstract

Abstract

The flow of process is a sequence of jobs or activities performed in producing goods and services. UD. Usaha Rezeki Prabot, a small-to-medium enterprise (SME) in furniture manufacturing, consistently faces a critical operational challenge: despite stable customer demand (853 units/year of panel door type 7), only 750 units (88%) are delivered on time, resulting in a 12% delay rate. This gap is not caused by insufficient labor or machinery, but by a fragmented production system riddled with non-value-added (NVA) activities particularly repetitive machine setup, excessive material handling, redundant measurements, and long waiting times that inflate lead time to 176.91 minutes per unit. Value Stream Mapping (VSM) is applied as a lean tool to visualize the entire material and information flow, identify dominant wastes (waiting, over-processing, and unnecessary motion), and redesign the workflow. Through the implementation of future-state mapping by grouping components with identical profiles into batch processing and eliminating redundant inspections the NVA time was reduced from 79.95 minutes (45.19%) to 16.07 minutes (15.93%), cutting total lead time by 43%. This study demonstrates that for SMEs like UD. Usaha Rezeki Prabot, sustainable productivity gains come not from capital investment, but from restructuring workflow based on frontline insights to eliminate systemic waste embedded in daily routines. The purpose of this mapping is to identify all types of waste along the Value Stream and to take a move in an attempt to eliminate the waste. The flow of process design with Value Stream Mapping approach enables the company to be able to minimize the non value added activities and to shorten the time taken in the process of making doors and to increase the productivity. The purpose of this Motion and Time study was to do a direct observation about time and movement of someone who is working. UD Rezki Prabot uses the VSM (Value Stream Mapping) to minimize the non value added process and to propose a design to improve the flow of process. The result of this study showed that the time of non value added activities decreased from 176.91 minutes to 100.9 minutes. The non value added activities decreased from 45.19% to 15.93% due to the decrease of non value added activities by sequencing the work activities that the machine does not need to be set up repeatedly.

Abstract

The Batu Bata Riana MSMEs located in Padang Langgis Village, Seruway Subdistrict, Aceh Tamiang Regency, is a micro-enterprise engaged in the production of red bricks using conventional production methods. Up until now, product marketing has primarily been carried out manually through word of mouth, resulting in limited market reach and low sales volume. This study aims to design and implement an online e-commerce-based marketing application, thereby expanding market reach and enhancing marketing effectiveness. The methodology includes partner needs analysis, user interface design, web-based application development, functionality testing, and user satisfaction evaluation. The resulting application features a product catalog, online ordering form, direct contact integration with the business owner, and location information display. The application has been implemented and is accessible via both mobile devices and desktop computers. Evaluation results indicate increased interest from new customers and potential sales volume growth of up to 30% compared to conventional marketing methods. These findings demonstrate that the application of e-commerce technology in brick-producing MSMEs has a positive impact on market expansion, transaction process efficiency, and business competitiveness in the digital era.

Abstract

Manual work using non-ergonomic tools at the packaging station causes workers to bend over for long periods. This condition can increase the risk of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs), thereby reducing worker productivity. The objectives of this study were to determine the greatest pain complaints from workers, design ergonomic aids to reduce MSDs complaints, and analyze worker responses to the ergonomic aids created. The methods used included worker anthropometric measurements, percentile determination, statistical tests to ensure data usability, and Kansei Engineering to identify worker interest in the tool. Results and discussion, popliteal length, popliteal height, and hip width are the dimensions used to design the tool. All dimensions were tested statistically. In the data sufficiency test, all data were declared valid, the data reliability test was declared reliable, and the data normality test stated that the data were normally distributed. The percentile used was the 50th percentile. Worker responses to the tool were evaluated using Kansei Engineering using nine Kansei words. All Kansei words were declared valid with values (0.407- 0.850) exceeding the r-table value, and the reliability test (0.707- 0.791) was declared greater than the Cronbach Alpha limit (5%), so all Kansei words were reliable. In conclusion, the ergonomic aids for packaging workers have a length of 43.65 cm, a height of 44.40 cm, and a width of 33.35 cm, while the evaluation of the aids produced seven descriptors with the highest scores, namely comfortable to use (0.940), safe to use (0.935), light (0.911), easy to use and move (0.913), simple design (0.920), flexible to use (0.951), and very functional when used in the workplace (0.938).
