Abstract

This research aims to describe the use of form anda function of cohesion device in Mercusuar Daily editorial discourse including device of grammatical and lexical cohesion. This research is a qualitative descriptive research. The data collection were done in two ways, namely, (1) refer technique and (2) record technique. Data analysis procedures used trough three stages: (1) data reduction, (2) presentation of data, and (3) conclusion / verivication. Based on the research result, there was the use of devices of grammatical and lexical cohesion in Mercusuar daily editorial discourse of may 2016 edition. Devices used in the grammatical cohesion of discourse include, (1) grammatical  forms of cohesion devices, including : (a) molding (reference), (b) ellipsis (deletion), (c) subtitution, and (d) a conjungtion. Lexical cohesion devices include (a) reps (repetition) that replicated that same right (intact), repeat with replacement, replicated the shape change, repeat with synonym, repeat with hyponym, and (b) collocation. 2) Cohesion devices function as follows : (a) the reference refer to a participant who had been mentioned first in discourse, (b) subtitution serves to replace the spesific language elements with other elements that are interchangeable, (c) ellipsis (deletion). There are some functions that use ellipsis, namely: (1) the effectiveness of the sentence, (2) language efficiency usage, (3) cohesion discourse, (4) to activate the mind of reader or listener  to language which didn’t explicitly disclosed, (5) practicality language, and (d) conjungtion. Conjungtions functions are, (1) the relationship of resistance, (2) stating causality, (3) the relationship extra, (4)the relationship comparison and (5) express a temporal  relationship. The used of lexical cohesion in the form of repetition. Repetition serves to defend the idea of topic being discussed.

Abstract

In using language, both spoken and written, an underlying theory is needed. The scope of language errors includes errors in phonology, morphology, the field of syntax, and the field of EYD. However, the purpose of this study only focused on the field of morphology in describing misuse of use: prepositions, affixes, and dotted words in narrative essays of class IXA students at MTs Negeri Palu Barat. This research was a qualitative research which aims to understand the phenomenon of what the research subjects experience holistically and by means of descriptions in the form of words and language, in a special natural context and by utilizing various scientific methods. Data collection techniques used in this study were observation, interviews, and documentation of the implementation of activities. The subjects of this study were 29 students of class XI A MTs N 2 Palu. The results of the research on the analysis of morphological errors in the expository narrative essay of MTs Negeri 2 Palu students were: (1) the form of misuse of prepositions which are sequenced from the words that follow them, such as the word dipalu, the use of the prepositions should be separated from the words that follow as in the word di Palu; (2) the form of the misuse of the affixation which is separated from the word that follows it as in the word di pilih, the use of the affixation should be linked to the word that follows it like the word dipilih; and (3) the form of misuse of the word berklitik which is separated from the word that follows it, as in the word ku menangkan, the use of the word that follows it should rely on the word that follows it as in the word kumenangkan.

Abstract

This research intended to prove whether the use of drama technique affected the students’ speaking accuracy, fluency, and comprehensibility or not. This research employed quasi-experimental research design with the non-equivalent control group design. The population of this research was the second year students of senior high school that consisted of 260 students. This research used cluster random sampling technique. From nine classes, two classes were taken as a sample of the research. One class was chosen as the experimental class and another one as the control class. The total sample consisted of 72 students. In order to answer the research question, the instrument of this research was speaking test. The result of data analysis showed that there was no significant different of the students’ speaking accuracy, fluency, and comprehensibility of both classes in pre-test. But the students’ speaking accuracy, fluency, and comprehensibility of both classes in post-test was significant, which means that drama technique can significantly affect the students’ speaking accuracy, fluency, and comprehensibility.

Abstract

Abstrak Kearifan lokal adalah bagian dari budaya suatu masyarakat yang diwariskan secara turun-temurun dari satu generasi ke generasi berikutnya. Molabot Tumpe merupakan tradisi penjemputan telur pertama burung maleo dari masyarakat adat Batui ke keraton Banggai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan nilai-nilai kearifan lokal dalam ritual “Molabot Tumbe” Masyarakat Kabupaten Banggai. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, terdapat beberapa nilai kearifan lokal yang terkandung dalam ritual tersebut, diantaranya: kearifan lokal kesejahteraan yang terdiri atas disiplin, gotong royong, pelestarian dan kreativitas budaya dan peduli lingkungan. Kemudian, terdapat pula nilai kearifan lokal kedamaian yang terdiri atas kesetiakawanan sosial, kerukunan dan penyelesaian konflik, komitmen dan pikiran positif. Kata Kunci: Kearifan lokal, Molabot tumbe, Masyarakat Banggai Abstract Local wisdom is part of the culture of a society that is passed down from generation to generation. Molabot Tumpe is a tradition of picking up the first maleo eggs from the Batui people to the Banggai palace. This study aims to reveal the values ​​of local wisdom in the "Molabot Tumbe" ritual of the Banggai Regency community. The method used is a qualitative method with an ethnographic approach. Based on the results of the study, there are several values ​​of local wisdom contained in the ritual, including: local wisdom of welfare which consists of discipline, mutual cooperation, preservation and cultural creativity and care for the environment. Then, there is also the value of local wisdom of peace which consists of social solidarity, harmony and conflict resolution, commitment and positive thoughts. Dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia, keterampilan berbicara menjadi salah satu aspek keterampilan reseptif yang akan mengahsilkan bahasa dari apa yang telah diterima sebelumnya sehingga perlu strategi pembelajaran yang menghimpun pengetahuan, keterampilan dan sikap dalam satu kesatuan untuk mencapai indikator pembelajaran untuk mempersiapkan generasi yang cerdas dan berkarakter baik. Penenaman nilai karakter dalam pencapaian hasil pembelajaran keterampilan berbicara sangat tepat diaplikasikan terutama pada pencapaian hasil belajar keterampilan berbicara Karena tidak hanya mengukur keberhasilan keterampilan tetapi juga mengukur keberhasilan dari karakter anak saat berbicara. Penelitiaan ini membahas mengenai penerapan pembelajaran berbicara berbasis pendidikan karakter ini diawali dari jenis kegiatan pendahulan yaitu pembiasaan mengawali pembelajaran dengan berdo`a pada setiap awal dan akhir pembelajaran dan membiasakan karakter yang baik pada setiap tahapan pemeblajaran. Hal tersebut dilakukan peneliti untuk menginternalisasikan nilai karakter siswa diantaranya: Religiusitas, nasionalisme, gotong royong, kemandirian, dan integritras.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the form, function, and strategy of directive speech acts in the interaction of health workers with patients at the Singgani Health Center, Palu City. This study used qualitative research methods. The data in this study were in the form of oral data contained in conversations spoken by health workers and patients at the Singgani Health Center, Palu City. The data was collected using observation techniques, recording, observing, recording then followed by data reduction, data presentation, interpreting meaning, and drawing conclusions. Based on the research results, 13 data were found in the form of directive speech acts namely, 3 forms of prohibition, 5 forms of advice, 2 forms of requests, 1 form of invitation, and 2 forms of orders. 10 directive speech act function data, namely 2 prohibition functions,                 2 advisory functions, 3 solicitation functions, 1 request function, 2 command functions. 10 directive speech act strategy data, namely 6 direct strategies and 4 indirect strategies.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses pemerolehan bahasa pada anak usia dini pada tataran fonologi di TK PKK Masaingi. Adapun jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian lapangan dengan menggunakan rancangan deskriptif kualitatif karena penelitian ini memaparkan hasil penelitian berdasarkan fakta yang ada dalam kehidupan sehari hari penuturnya dan proses pemerolehan bahasa pada aspek fonologi anak. Peneliti menerapkan teknik simak libat cakap dalam penelitian ini. Teknik analisis data menggunakan tiga tahap yaitu tahap reduksi,tahap penyajian dan tahap penariakan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan objek sudah menguasai huruf-huruf vokal [a], [i], [u], [e], [∂] dan [o] tetapi belum menguasai semua huruf konsonan. Konsonan yang belum dikuasai oleh informan adalah konsonan [r]. Selain dapat melafalkan beberapa kosa kata, subjek penelitian juga mampu berkomunikasi dengan baik, baik bertanya dan maupun menjawab pertanyaan. Adapun faktor yang mempengaruhi pemerolehan bahasa pada anak adalah lingkungan keluarga, lingkungan sekolah dan lingkungan bermain.

Abstract

The topic discussed in this article is the use of euphemisms in newspapers. The aim is to describe the synonymy of euphemisms in newspapers in terms of collocation, distribution, emotive meaning and meaning components. The steps taken in this research include three stages, namely: (1) data collection stage, (2) data analysis stage, and (3), data analysis results presentation stage. The method used in collecting data is the siak method with note-taking technique. The methods used in data analysis are the matching method with referential matching techniques and the distributional method with techniques for direct elements, expansion techniques, and replacement techniques. The methods used in presenting the results of data analysis are formal methods and informal methods. The results of the research show that the use of euphemisms in newspapers is not perfectly synonymous with the linguistic form they replace based on analysis of collocation, distribution, emotive meaning and meaning components. Apart from that, the use of euphemisms in newspapers tends to hide certain intentions so as not to disturb the public. AbstrakTopik yang dibahas dalam artikel ini adalah penggunaan eufemisme dalam surat kabar. Tujuannya adalah untuk mendeskripsikan sinonimi eufemisme dalam surat kabar ditinjau dari kolokasi, distribusi, makna emotif, dan komponen makna. Langkah-langkah yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini meliputi tiga tahap, yaitu: (1) tahap pengumpulan data, (2) tahap analisis data, dan (3) tahap penyajian hasil analisis data. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data adalah metode siak dengan teknik catat. Metode yang digunakan dalam analisis data adalah metode padan dengan teknik padan referensial dan metode distribusional dengan teknik unsur langsung, teknik perluasan, dan teknik penggantian. Metode yang digunakan dalam penyajian hasil analisis data adalah metode formal dan metode informal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan eufemisme dalam surat kabar tidak sepenuhnya sinonim dengan bentuk kebahasaan yang digantikannya berdasarkan analisis kolokasi, distribusi, makna emotif, dan komponen makna. Selain itu, penggunaan eufemisme dalam surat kabar cenderung menyembunyikan maksud tertentu agar tidak meresahkan masyarakat.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan materi ajar Bahasa Indonesia berbasis kearifan lokal bagi Tenaga Kerja Asing (TKA) di Sulawesi Tengah. Perbedaan budaya antara negara asal TKA dan budaya lokal sering menimbulkan kesalahpahaman dan gegar budaya yang dapat mempengaruhi produktivitas dan hubungan kerja sehingga penting pemahaman bahasa dan budaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik purposive sampling dan melibatkan 50 TKA dari tiga perusahaan asing di Sulawesi Tengah. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa TKA membutuhkan materi ajar yang tidak hanya mengajarkan bahasa tetapi juga memperkenalkan kearifan lokal. Sebagian besar responden menyatakan bahwa pemahaman terhadap kearifan lokal sangat penting dan dapat meningkatkan efektivitas komunikasi serta hubungan kerja di lingkungan baru. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan pengembangan materi ajar yang mencakup komponen budaya lokal secara mendalam untuk meminimalisasi kesalahpahaman dan meningkatkan adaptasi TKA di Sulawesi Tengah.
