Abstract

This writing aims to understand how the Project-Based Learning (PJBL) model works to influence the mathematical thinking skills of class VIII students at the Darus Sholihin Labuhanbatu Islamic Boarding School. The research relies on a Pretest-Posttest Control Group design and quasi-experimental methodology. Two groups of sample students were: an experimental group that received teaching based on the PJBL model, and a control group that received teaching using traditional techniques. The results show that when compared with the control group, students taught using the PJBL paradigm experienced a significant increase in understanding of mathematical concepts. The PJBL model has a significant effect on students' understanding of mathematical concepts, according to statistical analysis using the T-Test, the significance number is 0.002, less than 0.05. As a result, the project-based learning approach can be considered as a successful substitute for strengthening students' mathematical thinking standards.

Abstract

Education is a planned effort, in the learning process and creating a learning atmosphere so that students can develop their potential to become competent in the abilities they are learning. This research aims to analyze the critical Thinking skills of high school students in solving group data statistical problems and to see the differences between students with Thinking and Feeling personality types. With a qualitative descriptive design, the research results showed an average critical Thinking ability of 18.31 and a Thinking-Feeling personality type of 21.22. However, the t-Test shows that the difference is not statistically significant (t-count -6.19 t-table 1.66 at α 0.05), indicating that personality type does not have a significant effect on critical Thinking skills, so other factors such as teaching methods or learning experiences are more likely to play a role.

Abstract

The role of teachers in implementing the Independent Curriculum at UPTD SMPN 1 TORGAMBA is the subject of this research. This research involves teachers and students as subjects, with a quantitative approach and uses observation, interviews and documentation for data collection. Research findings show that the role of teachers is very vital in forming students' character through the implementation of the Independent Curriculum which emphasizes religious values, morals, diversity, as well as critical thinking skills, collaboration and independence. The research results also show that SMPN 1 TORGAMBA has succeeded in implementing the Independent Curriculum in various ways, such as conducting cognitive diagnostic assessments, creating teaching modules, implementing learning, and designing projects to improve student profiles. However, the lack of offline training causes a number of challenges, especially related to teachers' understanding of the Merdeka Curriculum.
