Abstract

The behavior of using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in construction sector workers in Indonesia is still not good, this is indicated by the still high mortality and disability due to workplace accidents. There are still many workers who do not use PPE when working based on several factors, including the lack of company policy and supervision and aspects of the workers themselves. The purpose of this study was to see an overview of the knowledge, attitudes and behavior of construction workers about the use of PPE in PT. X, Lampung in 2018. The research design used in this study was a cross-sectional design that was descriptive in nature. This study used a sample of 50 people and analyzed univariately. The results of this study show a picture of knowledge, attitudes and good behavior about the use of PPE. In addition, the highest age for workers is> 30 years, the highest level of education is Higher Education and the lowest is elementary school and the highest level of education is high school / vocational school, the highest period of employment is ≤ 10 years. From the results of this study it can be concluded that respondents have a high level of awareness about the importance of using PPE to avoid the risk of workplace accidents.

The issue of the quality of work of nurses in hospitals is something that needs attention, especially regarding the level of work fatigue by nurses. Work fatigue is a symptom related to work efficiency, skills and increased anxiety. Research shows that work fatigue has a significant impact on work accidents. This study aims to determine the factors that influence the level of fatigue in nurses in government hospitals. This research is a descriptive analytical research with a cross sectional approach. The population in this study were nurses at government hospitals. In this research, fatigue factors are divided into 3, namely age, gender and length of service. Sampling was carried out using the simple random sampling method. Data collection uses a questionnaire in the form of a Google form. Based on the results, it was found that there was a relationship between factors that influence fatigue and the level of fatigue, p - value <0.005 (0.000).

Abstract

It was known that pesticide applicators are at risk of experiencing neurotoxicity and neurobehavioral alterations related to occupational pesticide exposure. This study aims to evaluate the association between pesticide exposure and the neurobehavioral performance of pesticide applicators in West Java, Indonesia where chemical pesticides were heavily used. We conducted a cross-sectional study in a vegetable farming center in West Java Province, Indonesia. A total of 88 pesticide applicators were included in the study on November 2022. A structured interviewer-administered questionnaire was used to obtain the participants’ characteristics. We performed the German Q18 questionnaire to screen the neurobehavioral symptoms and the WHO Neurobehavioral Core Test Battery (NCTB) for each participant to identify the neurobehavioral performance among pesticide applicators. Data were summarized descriptively and statistical analysis using chi-square and independent sample t-test was performed. We found that the most common neurobehavioral symptoms were symptoms related to memory, concentration, and fatigue. Poor neurobehavioral performance was found in 29.5% of participants and it was found to be associated with those grouped at age ≥ 44 years and categorized as having a high CEL. The pieces of evidence presented here suggest that neurobehavioral performance was associated with pesticide exposure.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze stress as a mediator of authentic happiness and heroic leadership on work performance of nurses at the Occupational Health Nurses Association during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study uses a quantitative approach with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) Techniques - SmartPLS.  The subjects in the study were occupational health nurses who were members of the Occupational Health Assistence Associations (ONI-OHN) with a total of 101 members. The sampling technique used in this study is a purposive sampling technique with non-probability sampling.  The results of this study show the important influence of authentic happiness and heroic leadership as an effort to increase work performance with stress as a mediator, and the application of organizational and work psychology implications related to authentic happiness and heroic leadership as an effort to increase work performance with stress as a mediator

Abstract

Low back pain is a disorder of the musculoskeletal system caused by ergonomic exposure, including improper work posture, sitting too long, and excessive activity. Purpose: This study aims to examine the relationship between work posture, age, length of service, gender, body mass index, last level of education, and smoking habits with LBP complaints in garment sewing workers in the Pademangan area, North Jakarta, in 2024. The research design used in this study was cross-sectional and took place in November 2024. Individual characteristics, job information, and LBP complaints were obtained from the Nordic Questionnaire about lower back problems, while the respondents' work postures were obtained using RULA (Rapid Upper Extremity Assessment). Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test method. A total of 44 respondents (58.7%) showed unergonomic work postures based on the RULA score, and 37 respondents (49.3%) reported LBP complaints. The results of the analysis found a significant relationship between length of service and LBP complaints. Respondents with more than 5 years of work experience tend to experience LBP complaints more often than respondents with less than 5 years of work experience. Ergonomic work posture control is essential to prevent and reduce LBP complaints.
