Abstract

Kenyamanan termal merupakan faktor penting yang memengaruhi kualitas hidup penghuni perumahan, terutama di daerah dengan temperatur udara tinggi seperti Kota Bekasi dan Karawang. Penggunaan air conditioner (AC) menjadi solusi umum untuk mengatasi temperatur panas di dalam ruangan, namun efektivitasnya dalam meningkatkan kenyamanan termal masih perlu dikaji lebih lanjut. Metode penelitian ini meliputi pengukuran temperatur dan kelembaban menggunakan Arduino dengan sensor DHT11 dan DHT22 serta perhitungan indeks kenyamanan termal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perbandingan penggunaan AC terhadap kenyamanan termal di perumahan serta efektivitasnya dalam menciptakan kondisi termal optimal. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga berfokus pada dampaknya terhadap konsumsi energi guna meningkatkan efisiensi penggunaan AC. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa pada kondisi tertentu, kenyamanan termal dapat tercapai hanya dengan memanfaatkan pengaruh udara luar atau cuaca, seperti ketika temperatur dan kelembaban lingkungan berada dalam rentang optimal. Namun, penggunaan AC memungkinkan kenyamanan termal tercapai secara konsisten tanpa bergantung pada kondisi udara luar, bahkan pada saat cuaca panas dan lembap.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aimed to explore the impact of empowering society and culinary MSMEs on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in West Java, focusing on Sindangmukti Village, Karawang Regency. While prior research has often used a top-down approach, neglecting direct societal impact, this study takes a bottom-up perspective, aligning with implicit SDG principles observed in community services. Research Methodology:  The study employed online questionnaires with 505 households in West Java to evaluate water consumption, waste generation, and energy usage patterns. Specific investigations in Sindangmukti Village have measured community service effectiveness regarding SDGs. Results: The study found that Only 19.1% of the participants set AC temperatures within the recommended ranges. Additionally, initiatives to promote a sustainable city strategy and establish energy-efficient culinary MSMEs in Sindangmukti Village resulted in a 29% increase in knowledge among 70 participants and generated $36.71 income from bitter melon chip production within two months. Limitations: However, the study focused solely on Sindangmukti Village, neglecting the diverse cultural and problem landscapes of other villages in the Karawang Regency. Contributions: The findings of this study can inform future efforts to enhance energy, water, and waste efficiency in residential buildings in West Java, thereby fostering awareness of energy conservation, environmental sustainability, and economic resilience.

Abstract

The increasing population growth in cities will cause environmental detriments such as global warming and ozone depletion. The electricity need will increase in the future due to the higher temperature in the cities, leading to the higher usage of cooling equipment such as freezers. The current study proposed a method to improve the freezer's energy efficiency by using phase change material of dry ice gel. Most of previous studies only focused on the impact of position of phase change materials on the temperature of wall freezer while no previous studies consider the detailed methodology of measurement and the impact of phase change material based on dry ice gel to the variance of wall temperature. The sensor thermocouple type T and data logger ADAM 6018+ were used to measure the wall temperature of the freezer. The results showed that the sensor thermocouple was verified to the calibrated thermometer with R2 = 0.99. The installation of phase change material based on dry ice gel on the wall freezer could maintain the temperature around 1-2oC while the freezer was turned off for 4, 6, and 8 hours. The efficiency of freezer could be increased from 10% to 30% due to using dry ice gel phase change material. The future study should investigate the various types of phase change materials and the new combination of phase change materials.

Abstract

Industrial waste is one of the most serious problems in the industrial world. Industrial wastewater treatment plants as one of the solutions to overcome these problems require holding tanks as the main part of the system. Holding tanks function as waste reservoirs before further processing. Thus, holding tanks play an important role in reducing the negative impact of waste on the environment and preventing damage to industrial facilities. The holding tank is designed using solidwork and ANSYS in order to ensure the reability and capability in relocatting the coolant waste water. From the results of the research on the design of wastewater reservoirs, the maximum total deformation subjected to a load of 0.00017735 MM is obtained, while the smallest total deformation value is 1.9705 MM. The results of the maximum stress or voltage subjected to a load of 0.17112 Mpa while the smallest stress value is 0.080072 Mpa. And for the results of the maximum strain or strain subjected to a load of 6.868 Mpa while for the smallest strain value is 7.7904 Mpa.

Abstract

Proses manufaktur merupakan halyang biasa dijumpai pada perusahaan otomotif, logam, mesin dan alat berat. Salah satu mesin manufaktur yaitu mesin gerinda datar (surface grinding). Mesin gerinda datar digunakan untuk berbagai tujuan, seperti untuk mengurangi ketebalan cylinder head. Penggerindaan juga dilakukan untuk mendapatkan permukaan yang cukup halus pada cylinder head, selain itu dilakukannya proses penggerindaan untuk mendapatkan ketebalan yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan suatu perusahaan. Pada proses pemesinan dengan mesin gerinda datar, waktu yang didapatkan pada gerinda datar adalah 13,26 menit untuk sekali proses pemesinan. Pentingnya ketelitian dalam mengoperasikan mesin surface grinding, ketelitian dalam mengukur dan menghitung ukuran awal sampai akhir dari cylinder head agar ketika proses pemesinan berlangsung tidak melebihi batas toleransi yang diberikan oleh perusahaan.Manufacturing processes are common in automotive industry, metal industry, machine and heavy equipment industry. One of the manufacturing machines is a flat grinding machine (surface grinding). Surface grinding machines are used for various purposes, for example to reduce the thickness of the cylinder head. Surface grinding machine is also carried out to obtain a fairly smooth surface on the cylinder head, the grinding process is carried out to obtain a thickness according to the needs of a company. In the process of grinding machine, the time obtained for surface grinding is 13.26 minutes for one machining process. The precision so important in operating a surface grinding machine, precision in measuring and calculating front end dimensions of the cylinder head and the machining process are not exceed the tolerance limits company.

Abstract

This study compares the simulation results of a CNC lathe program with the actual production results of a CNC lathe. CNC lathes are used in the manufacturing of precision components for various industrial applications. Simulation of CNC lathe programs can provide an accurate estimate of the production output before the actual production process begins. In this study, we compared dimensional tolerance, geometric accuracy, and surface quality between simulated and actual results. The simulation method used is 2D modeling which involves the calculation of tool trajectories and cutting parameters inputted into the simulation panel. Actual production data was obtained from the measurement of components produced from the CNC lathe. A comparative analysis was conducted to evaluate the extent to which the simulation can predict the actual production results. The results show that, although the simulation can give a good picture, there is still a significant difference between the simulation results and actual production. The findings have practical implications in improving efficiency and accuracy in the planning and production process using CNC lathes.

Abstract

Dalam industri manufaktur, efektivitas mesin sangat berpengaruh terhadap kualitas dan produktivitas produksi. PT XYZ menghadapi permasalahan pada mesin press yang sering mengalami kerusakan, sehingga menghambat proses produksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) dengan metode Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) guna meningkatkan keandalan mesin press yang sering mengalami kerusakan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini mencakup pengumpulan data historis perawatan mesin, identifikasi komponen kritis menggunakan analisis Logic Tree Analysis (LTA), serta evaluasi kegagalan dengan Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA). Analisis ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi komponen yang berisiko tinggi mengalami kegagalan dan untuk menentukan langkah-langkah pemeliharaan yang paling efektif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komponen kritis yang paling sering mengalami kegagalan adalah kopling, screw, V-belt, dan bearing. Perhitungan Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) menunjukkan nilai 158,4 jam, sedangkan Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) sebesar 9,65 jam. Berdasarkan analisis tindakan pemeliharaan, ditemukan bahwa 50% tindakan yang diperlukan bersifat Time Directed (TD) dan 50% bersifat Condition Directed (CD). Dengan demikian, pendekatan perawatan yang lebih komprehensif dan terencana dapat diterapkan untuk meningkatkan keandalan mesin. Rekomendasi yang diberikan mencakup penjadwalan perawatan preventif secara rutin, peningkatan keterampilan operator melalui pelatihan khusus, serta evaluasi rutin terhadap prosedur pemeliharaan mesin untuk memastikan kualitas dan keberlanjutan proses produksi. Implementasi strategi perawatan ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan produktivitas, mengurangi downtime, serta memperpanjang umur operasional mesin press.

Abstract

Perkembangan mobil listrik yang semakin pesat menuntut desain rangka yang ringan, kuat, dan mampu menahan getaran selama pengoperasian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis karakteristik modal rangka kendaraan listrik menggunakan metode Finite Element Analysis (FEA) pada ANSYS 2024 R1. Analisis modal dilakukan untuk mengetahui frekuensi alami dan bentuk getaran rangka, sehingga dapat dipastikan bahwa struktur tidak mengalami resonansi akibat getaran motor, kondisi jalan yang tidak rata, maupun osilasi sistem penggerak. Model rangka tiga dimensi dirancang menggunakan SolidWorks dan dianalisis dalam kondisi free modal tanpa batasan tumpuan agar respons dinamis rangka dapat tergambar secara realistis. Tiga jenis material dibandingkan, yaitu Structural Steel, Titanium Alloy, dan Epoxy Carbon Composite, yang umum digunakan dalam pengembangan rangka mobil listrik karena karakteristik kekuatan dan efisiensi beratnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Structural Steel memiliki frekuensi alami tertinggi namun dengan bobot yang lebih besar. Titanium Alloy memberikan keseimbangan antara kekakuan dan pengurangan massa, sedangkan Epoxy Carbon Composite menunjukkan frekuensi lebih rendah tetapi memiliki potensi redaman getaran dan efisiensi massa yang baik. Temuan ini membuktikan bahwa pemilihan material sangat berpengaruh terhadap respons dinamis dan keamanan struktural rangka kendaraan listrik. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penggunaan material komposit atau kombinasi material sebagai pendekatan optimal dalam pengembangan rangka mobil listrik pada masa mendatang.
